2 stars! It pains me to comes to this conclusion because i struggled with both the storyline and the writing style which was really boring in my perspective...too go into details about the hows, whats and whys in this story wont give any credence to the story at all because i skip through many chapters and really did not get the full understanding of how i got to the ending..was just glad i did

To Love Again by BL Clark is a beautiful story about lost love and the discovery of new life and love. The book follows the heartbreaking story of Jade and Amy and daughter Brianna as they deal with illness and loss. Through their journey of dark sorrow and then into new hope and light, I found myself enveloped by the story and superb writing by Ms Clark. The character development is wonderful and I found myself feeling every moment, every joy and sorrow with them.
If you're longing for powerful writing, sweet romance and deep emotion, this is the book for you. Please don't miss this piece from BL Clark. Let her take you on this journey of love, laughter, endings and new beginnings. And, if we're lucky, perhaps a sequel is in the works.

This doesn't leave you untouched.

I'm still emotionally stripped. What a sad, heartwarming and also a very happy story. I have read this with tears in my eyes. But also very often with a big laugh because Bri is doing that with you. I've been struggling to let go of the story, it has hit me enormously. What a great story. This is a book that you really must read. I'm already looking forward to reading a new book by BL Calrk.

I Got SO Emotional Baby!
WOW, this story is so good! It took me on an emotional journey, I laughed I got mad, I cried a LOT, both happy and sad tears… I was moved and touched by this drama. Jade and Rachel are amazing and so strong. They make an amazing couple, helping each other overcome fears, doubts and pain while reawakening desires. Their best friends are a riot! They are trouble from the word go but have Jade and Rachel’s backs like no one else. This is a beautiful and wondrous tale and one I am very glad to have read!

I truly loved the story, seemed a good balance of tear jerking sorrow and bust out smiling moments.

What I didn't care for and why I only gave it 4 stars was the inconsistencies.
The children are used to drive the story, in and of itself perfectly fine. But every so often they are used to drop a dialog 'bomb' that seems totally out of they style used for that child before, and often using very adult logic and vocabulary.
It served the purpose to move the story along, it just jarred and clashed, breaking immersion for me.

Some spoilers

Disappointing. I can't for the life of me understand why this author was so intent on drastically changing what Jade's character had stood for and portrayed for 70% of the book, solely for the sake of the "required" breakup formula. Wasn't there enough pain, depression, and heartache in first 40% of the book?

Here is my main gripe, the two main leads had, up until the 70% mark, been completely forthright about their feelings on progressing their relationship and both had repeatedly stated the importance of open lines of communication. So far be it from me to be disappointed that when it came to the typical breakup point, the author decided to swap in a clone of Jade.

Jade's daughter had seen her kissing Rachel and gave her an ultimatum that she either chooses her, or she lets her go live with her grandparents. This was WEIRD, as she had loved Rachel like family, crying when her grandparents threatened her not seeing Rachel again, or constantly asking about where she was. Now, up until this point, Jade had been an excellent mother, both teaching and communicating with her daughter. But now? Her reaction was to cave in to her daughters demands, send a flimsy text to her "partner" that they were breaking up, ignored all attempts at communication from everybody, not just Rachel (calls, texts) and went to hide in the mountains, literally. This was all right after Rachel had told her that she loved her for the first time. Throughout the book, they had discussed and conquered far more difficult subjects than what this topic would have broached, and even then, they had discussed this very thing earlier. I just can't wrap my mind around what had changed, because literally, nothing had, except Jade becoming a completely different person.

The typical break-up mechanic just didn't work this time. Here we had two damaged souls finally finding joy, love, and happiness, with a healthy relationship that was based on open communication from the get-go. Whenever they had been unsure, they had communicated with their friends or each other. Having said that, I couldn't understand the deliberate, forced, 180 degree change in Jade. As her friend had put it something like "you're old enough to be the adult, or at least you should be" in reference to doing anything her daughter wanted / ignoring all phone calls / being immature, I can only come to the conclusion that the author wanted some conflict, angst or to follow the usual mold. It just doesn't work in a story like this and made me go from loving Jade to not even remotely respecting her. And of course, Rachel, after having said she let her walls down and would take time to regain her trust, was back to fully trusting her 20 pages later. It was all so fake and contrived that it ruined the enjoyment factor of this book for me. /end rant.
