Now I'm trapped inside Aleksei Sokolov's mansion with the most feared man in New York.
He's ruthless. Possessive. The kind of man who could snap a neck without blinking... then pin me against a wall just to remind me I'm his to protect.
Every day I tell myself I'll escape.
Then he stitches me back together with those same dangerous hands. Watches every man in the room like he's already planning the funeral. Makes it impossible to remember I'm supposed to be planning my escape.
Somewhere between midnight confessions, bruising kisses, and realizing the safest place in the world is in my enemy's arms...
I fall for the man who stole my freedom.
Now a rival Bratva wants me dead.
A traitor is hiding inside his empire.
And the only man dangerous enough to burn the world to keep me alive...
May be the same man I have to betray to save us both.
Expect forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers tension, a ruthless Bratva king, touch-her-and-die protection, dangerous secrets, scorching chemistry, and a hard-won HEA. This interconnected standalone can be read on its own.
“Professionally I (Aleksei) need her mind. Personally, I have begun to want things from her I have no right to demand.”😏…
~I sincerely apologize to anyone that ends up with this song now firmly, and irritatingly, stuck in their heads ~
If you (and, I admit: I did, too) heard this popular song* everywhere and sang along: 🎵”Debbie just hit the wall, she never had it all One Prozac a day, husband's a CPA…” …you definitely have been led to believe anything involving accounting equates to BORING. Welp, lemme gently wake you the h€LL UP, and point you in the direction of Sasha Cross’ newest book: “Kidnapped By The Bratva King.”
The FMC, Natasha Miller, is a forensics accountant and the story begins with her investigation into some suspicious activity deep within a company. However, ::DUN DUN DUNNNNNN:: not everything is “as it seems,” and Natasha’s investigation gets interrupted when she finds herself -get this- KIDNAPPED BY THE BRATVA KING 😅 -it’s pretty self explanatory🙃
I have been a fan of Sasha Cross’ books for a while now. Her range going from “billionaire,” to “small town,” to “cowboy,” and now… “Mafia?!??” 👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏👏👏 Well, regardless of subgenre, anything Cross has written I’ve obviously thoroughly enjoyed 🙌 But “Kidnapped By The Bratva King” is one where I actually think she has TRULY outdone herself. The carefully measured way the story unfolds, I found myself completely engrossed in (of all things!)… accounting!! HEAR 👏ME 👏OUT👏… Cross manages to have created a story that is: 1. built on so many technical aspects and logistical details of forensic accounting, and at the same time, 2. So. Freaking. Sexy. The slow burn is so impressively measured and (no pun intended) calculated. ::chef’s kiss:: There are SOME teases along the way, but the overall restrained effect is VERY HOT. After reading this, I cannot fathom how anyone can (who once thought otherwise) still blindly hold the ignorant belief that accounting is “boring” (and along that train of thought, “not sexy”).
This book looks to be the first in a series Cross has titled“Kings Of Blood,” and I am BEYOND excited about the next book in this series!

An absolute adrenaline rush from the very first page, this high-stakes Bratva romance completely consumes your time until you reach the final chapter.
The story follows Natasha Miller, a brilliant and quick-witted forensic accountant deep undercover for the IRS and FBI to investigate SK Logistics. Her covert mission shatters the moment she inadvertently stumbles upon a brutal homicide hidden in the warehouse basement, instantly dragging her into the orbit of Aleksei Sokolov, the ruthless, possessive, and dangerous Bratva King everyone fears.
After trying to flee, Natasha is taken captive, but rather than following a conventional formula, Aleksei quickly recognizes her sharp mind and formidable capabilities.
Put to work tracking down hidden accounts, she successfully unearths the covert financial sabotage and moles within his inner circle that had completely eluded his own guards, forging a high-stakes alliance that blurs the line between captor and partner. The plot delivers on every front, weaving together an intricate web of danger, dark secrets, and multiple threat vectors. Alongside the internal betrayal rocking the family, a suspicious rival family feud, arson, dead bodies, false convoys, and high-stakes shootouts keep the tension at a boiling point.
Despite the relentless external pressure and a devastating twist where Aleksei temporarily takes her away from his estate, Natasha stands her ground with unwavering resolve, knowing exactly what she wants and what she is willing to put up with. Aleksei makes for a phenomenal protagonist. While he fully commands his role as a dominant and formidable King, his poignant journey to overcome his father's cold conditioning and genuinely let someone in gives the story a deeply satisfying emotional core.
The chemistry between Natasha and Aleksei is intensely spicy and electric, elevated significantly by the fact that they operate as a genuinely united front against their enemies.
Backed by a memorable supporting cast featuring Mikhail, Nikolai, Ivan, and Vlad, who bring incredible depth to the world-building, this story stands out as a shining example of romantic suspense.
Deeply atmospheric, fast-paced, and impossible to put down, this is an exceptional, highly recommended read for adult romance fans who love dangerous heroes and clever, capable heroines.

Kidnapped by the Bratva King is glorious read. Its author has become one of my go-to favorites. She is Sasha Cross and she is magnificent!
The first book that I read of Sasha’s was a cowboy tale. It was so beautiful and she wrote with such detail that I immediately searched for anything else she wrote. She’s written about billionaires, tycoons, firefighters and now she is committed to the Mafia. This is the first of a series of Kings of Blood. I can’t wait for the second one!
As the book begins, Natasha Miller is on an undercover assignment for the FBI and IRS examining the spreadsheets in a warehouse of SK Industries. Immediately she finds discrepancies among the numbers. Stocks delivered do not match inventory recorded. Money is being rerouted. When she is leaving the warehouse, she stumbles across the execution of man by Aleksei Solokov, the king of the Bratva. She runs but is captured by his men and kidnapped rather than killed.
Aleksei wants to know what she has found because his men have found nothing and it has months. He appreciates her results and wants Natascha to keep working to expose the culprit, but she has certain conditions. Thus, the fun begins. The heat between the two main characters is a slow burn into an inferno. I really enjoyed the four men guarding Natasha. Mikhail, Nikolai, Ivan, and Vlad start to appreciate and add character to the overall story.
Believe me! You do not want to miss the experience of this book or any other Sasha Cross book. You will appreciate her as much as I do!
I've only read one mafia romance before, so I wasn't sure I'd like this book. To my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed it, despite the moral issues. The characters are well developed. The supporting characters are not as well developed, not surprisingly, but still enough to know who they are and get a feeling for their personalities. The world building was excellent. As a former accounting major who ended up with a degree in finance, I found the auditing parts of the book to be quite accurate.
There is some need of further editing, however. If the author ever puts out a call for beta readers, I will jump at the chance. I'm a grammarian, so that element of a book is very important to me. The spelling and punctuation were correct. However, there seemed to be a lot of missing sentences or comments, so at times things didn't quite make sense, even after re-reading. I frequently had to infer things. It was also difficult at times to know who was speaking. The author seemed to break conversations up so that each sentence had a separate line with quotation marks, rather than putting everything spoken by one character into one set of quotation marks or a paragraph format. Again, I spent a fair amount of time re-reading so I could figure out who said what. It didn't quite bring me out of the story but was a bit annoying.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. I would definitely read a sequel and/or more books by this author.
This is the first book in the Kings of Blood series, and it is a great one!
Natasha is a forensic accountant who is sharp, intelligent, observant, self assured, and deadly accurate in converation and manners. Her latest assigment puts her in the hands of the Bratva as she gathers information that leads her to witness a murder and being kidnapped by the Pakhan himself. Aleksei is intrigued by the accountant, as she is not afraid of him, but instead is able to confront him with information and facts that show a fracture in his organization. He is a man who has been groom for silence, rules, discipline, and keeping threats at bay. He rules with power and with the loyalty of a close friends and the scrutiny of older ones. But Natasha is able to not just break his system, but also give him a reason to reassess his heart and the loyalty of the ones who are around him. The banter is on point, Natasha is clever, intelligent, and strong. Their attraction is magnetic and their passion scorching hot, but it's her connection to him and the organization using her math skills that makes her just such an amazing FMC.
The addition of the intrigue and action behind the mafia plot adds to the dynamics of the book.
A great and addictive read!.

I voluntarily reviewed "KIDNAPPED BY THE BRATVA KING" for my honest opinion full of suspense, danger, betrayal, suspense, kidnapping, steam, secrets keeping you on edge. Aleksei Sokolov is a ruthless, possessive, dangerous Bratva King everyone fears he meets Natasha in the. basement of SK Logistics warehouse after she witnesses him murdering someon. Natasia who was at SK Logistics undercover for the IRS & FBI looking for accounting discrepanciess she's a forensics accountant, she trys to run after what she witnessed, ends up kidnapped. Aleksei realizes how smart Natasia is so he gets her to work for him because she found things even his men couldn't, there's betrayal very close to home in the family who's been stealing, plus a rival family want Natasha as well which is highly suspicious to say the least. Aleksei has been watching Natasha closely she's brilliant at what she does, threats start coming from two different directions, they've been together but he ends up taking her away from his Estate leaving her devastated after what they did. Will Aleksei & Natasha ends up together very unhappy without him & him trying to figure out who's betraying him its definitely a must read you won't be disappointed.
This book was written by a very talented Author. She wove quite a fascinating Bravata story. Natasha and Alexie had an amazing connection and their banter was quick, snappy, brutal and serious all at once. The other characters in the book were engaging and truly woven into the story. My problem with this book is it needed some major editing. Forensic accounting was at the heart of this book. It was great to have some explaining of the process. This book became more of a master class or college textbook at times. Very repetitive, too much detail, and too boring at times. It truly halted the movement of the book, and I was tempted to give up several times. I wanted more of the basic story and plot not a class on accounting. There were also confusing sentences where it wasn’t clear who was speaking, and words were missing so I had to infer exactly what the characters were talking about. If there are more books based on the interesting characters introduced here, I will have to think long and hard before I purchase another book. I know my time is valuable, and I don’t want to have to slog through another book without better editing.

This book was very hard to put down once I started reading it!
The story begins with Natasha Miller, a forensic accountant who is auditing a company called SK Logistics for the IRS and FBI. She soon discovers that the Russian mafia may be involved in possible embezzlement.
Natasha accidentally witnesses a murder in the warehouse basement and meets Aleksei. The chemistry between the two main characters is very spicy and will definitely make you blush!
The Russian mafia storyline has it all: witnessing a murder, kidnapping, family conflicts, another Russian family feud involving the Volkovs, arson, dead bodies, a false convoy with decoys, a major home invasion with shootouts, and, of course, revenge.
This book is available on Amazon Kindle Unlimited, and I highly recommend adding it to your TBR. If you enjoy mafia romance, suspense, action, and plenty of spice, this is definitely a book you should check out!
ARC Copy Review Kidnapped By The Bratva King ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Author Sasha Cross Publication Date August 15, 2026
First, thank you to Sasha Cross and Booksprout for sharing this advanced copy with me!
I went back and forth between 4½ and 5 stars. The only reason I settled on 4½ was because the beginning was a slow read for me. It wasn’t until about halfway through that the pace took off like a rocket ship.
This is a dark romance, but for me, it also felt very much like a mystery. I was invested in uncovering the secrets and figuring out what was really happening.
“Aleksei Sokolov is ruthless, possessive, and feared by everyone around him. After witnessing him execute a man, the last thing I expected was for him to claim me instead of killing me. What follows is danger, secrets, betrayal, and a romance neither of them saw coming.”
Once the story picked up, I couldn’t put it down!
If you enjoy dark Bratva romance, possessive heroes, mystery, danger, and explicit spice, this one is worth checking out.
This is a fantastic mafia story about Aleksie, the Pakhan, and Natasha, the forensic auditor. They meet under circumstances that I’m sure Natasha would sooner not know about. The Pakhan has decided up front that he has an extremely important reason to keep Natasha for her capabilities to help him. Natasha has already proved her worth far beyond what he acknowledged. Natasha has a job to do and the Pakhan has every reason to help her as it’s to his benefit as well. This story is so well thought out and written that I couldn’t wait to find time to finish the book. The suspense and action throughout the story are amazing. I think my favorite character was Aleksie because of his upbringing and his fight within himself to be able to trust another person instead of trusting always what his father had taught him. Aleksie’s life as Pakhan was made more difficult by his brother and his followers. Great story that I would love to recommend to adults.
I really liked Natasha. She’s highly intelligent, knows exactly what she wants, and—just as importantly—knows what she’s willing to put up with and what she absolutely isn’t. I loved that about her character.
Aleksei was also a great Bratva king. He’s your typical Pakhan—large and in charge—but I really liked that he was also willing to listen when someone knew better. Watching his and Natasha’s relationship develop was one of my favourite parts. The attraction was definitely there, but I also loved that they had a united goal: solving the mystery within his Bratva.
I also really enjoyed Aleksei’s inner circle and the different personalities they brought to the story. I’m definitely hoping Mikhail, Nikolai, Ivan, and Vlad all get their own books as we continue exploring this world!
Thank you to Booksprout for the ARC. This is my honest review.
The FBI and IRS have tasked Natasha, a forensic auditor with finding discrepancies in a company called SK Logistics. When leaving one evening she gets lost in the warehouse she is working at and witnesses a murder. She is then captured and is taken by the Pakhan of the Bratva Aleksei who needs her to continue her search as it is his company that is being stolen from. This is an intriguing, dangerous read, a bit boring in spots, but still exciting and action packed. It also keep you guessing who is the thief. I enjoyed it.

A Unique and Captivating Mafia Romance. I could not put this book down! Sasha Cross has written a dark mafia romance that stands out. The storyline felt completely original and kept my attention from cover to cover. The two main characters are complete opposites, but they are a match that was beautifully meant to be. Their chemistry is amazing, and their banter is incredibly entertaining and enjoyable. On top of the romance, there is a thrilling mystery as the characters try to solve. If you want a gripping story with great pacing, wonderful tension, and a unique plot, you need to pick up this book.
Sasha Cross really said: forensic accountant meets Bratva king, and suddenly I’m kicking my feet over tax audits and murder scenes. Natasha and Aleksei’s attraction is scorching, and the tension only sharpens every time they collide. The banter, the push‑and‑pull, the way they challenge each other at every turn? Absolute perfection. And watching Aleksei reevaluate his loyalty, his rules, and the people around him because of her was pure chef’s‑kiss satisfaction. I’m absolutely continuing this series. I already have my eye on Aleksei’s inner circle because those men are begging for their own books.

"He is standing beside a corpse. My body doesn't care."
Blood and a gunshot changes everything for Natasha and Aleksei. Her complex forensic auditing investigation causes Natasha to clash with the Bratva as the Feds and a rival crime family draw closer and closer. "Now every step has blood attached to it." And "evidence has a body count." This intense, suspenseful story combines violence, betrayal, conspiracy, deception, corruption, passion and power struggles with clever banter, humor, strong characters and love. I must compliment the book cover. He is seriously captivating! This is the first book I've read by this author and I will definitely read more of her work.
They are playing a dangerous game of cat and mouse. Natasha finds herself at the mercy of Aleksei when she wonders accidentally into a part of the warehouse she was working in and witnesses a murder. Her only hope is to feed them bits of information in hopes that help will arrive, but when that is taken away, she has no choice but to work with Aleksei to find who is stealing from him. This story is thrilling and drew me in as zi connected with Aleksei and Natasha.

Natasha works as a forensic accountant at a private firm. One Sunday she went ina warehouse checking things out, they had a habit to go when no one’s around , but when finished going outside she witnessed a man killing another. The shooter saw her and kidnapped her, instead of killing her , he asked her what she found. She found missing dates and that someone is stealing from him. He promised to protect her if she found the culprit , while working with him she knew that he was a mafia man he was nice with her and he was very good looking.
a fast‑paced, dark‑tinged romance that delivers exactly what you’d expect from a Bratva kidnapping trope: danger, obsession, and a hero who’s as ruthless as he is possessive. The story moves quickly, blending high‑stakes tension with steamy chemistry, and keeps the focus on the intense push‑and‑pull between captor and captive. It’s a short, addictive read for fans who enjoy morally gray heroes and high‑drama mafia romance without heavy angst.
Alexei and Natasha were everything in this one. This was so intense when she witnessed something she should’ve never seen. He should’ve ended her there but he didn’t. Instead he decided to make her his. The push and pull between these two was great. It had me so invested. I loved the chaos and the danger. The way they connected was hot. It felt like these two crashed together. And they were meant for one another. I can’t wait to read more.
I loved this book the suspense, intelligent story line, the connection between main characters, the book keeps you gripped wanting more. The spice is hot but it's so much more with witty banter. Love love love would definitely recommend a read. Hope to read more mafia by Sasha Cross.

3.5⭐️ A pleasant read. I don’t read a lot of Mafia romance but I found this one enjoyable. The characters were intriguing and the story was really easy to follow. Just a good story with Russian Mafia and romance elements.
I love Natasha and Aleksei's story. Natasha is an auditor who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She is taken by some mafia men and has to help them find the thief of funds from their organization. Tension builds so maybe love can happen.

This story is filled with intrigue, twists , and steam. Natasha and Aleksei's relationship starts out with mutual mistrust. Natasha is a forensic accountant, and Aleksei needs her to discover who is embezzling from his company. The writing and plot are good. The plot kept me guessing who the traitor was.
Very good story. The auditor and the Bratva King. Kidnapped for seeing an execution and for being the auditor for a business under suspicious activities. Family betrayal and the people behind it. Her job just got complicated and her life takes a dangerous turn. Which side does she take?
This book was wicked good. The story and characters meshed really well. There's fear, suspense and fear and Natasha and Alexsei. This story kept me on my toes the whole way through the book. This was an ARC Read and these are my own words and thoughts on the book.
I really enjoyed this book. Slow romance but definitely worth the wait. Calculated actions from both main characters. The intensity of the Bratva war had me clutching my chest. Thank you for not writing about “unexpected pregnancy”. :)
Natasha and Alexsei‘s story is very entertaining. I was pulled into their story right away. Lots of drama, action, suspense and steam. A great Bratva romance.
