Jida's quest continues as Jida and her companions search for the remaining Gems of Power. Jida suffered excruciatingly before, but now, to her devastation, she is not the only one who suffers. Those closest to her heart are also experiencing terrible trials. Jida's allies are being captured by her deadliest enemy. She does not know whom to trust. Her hope remains alive as she imagines her kingdom fighting her greatest foe, and she dreams of being reunited with her parents. Will her last hopes for her kingdom be eternally vanquished?
Connelly Brooke is a young, home-schooled author. Not long after her twelfth birthday, she let her imagination take flight as she thought of the exciting characters and unique plot for TORN. Her goal was to capture all the adventure, excitement and danger that were in her imagination and transform them into text. She had a goal of publishing her first book before she became a teenager. She knew that this would be a difficult goal to achieve. With much work and perseverance, she tried her very hardest to finish writing TORN in only one year. She succeeded.
"Twisted" (Jida's Quest #2) by Connelly Brooke continues the journey of young Jida who is trying to defeat The Creature. In "Torn" (Jida's Quest #1), we meet Jida, a young girl, who now possesses a powerful gem, begins her quest to defeat The Creature after he attacks her home, Regia. In "Twisted" it picks up from where it left off, and Jida continues her dangerous journey. The closer she gets to defeating The Creature, the more she must face. Many more struggles, trials, terror, and nightmares are brought upon Jida as she struggles to complete a very difficult, and almost impossible task. Everyone she loves is either dead, or is in danger of being killed by The Creature. She is comforted by her companions, yet she knows they are in grave danger. Her heart is being torn and twisted for those she loves. She does not mean to hurt anybody, yet she has no control over what happens to her, unless she connects her hand to the sun. Yet with doing so, she sometimes forgets and ends up hurting others. She considers herself a monster, and her heart is filled with hatred for The Creature who has taken away everything that means something to her. She is told to fill her heart with love rather than hatred, but it is not an easy task. Jida now encounters many new dangers and creatures. And to make matters worse, time is running out. She only has one year left before she will become completely powerless, and The Creature will reign forever.
With only one book left in the Jida's Quest Series, Jida will face new dangers, enemies, and must learn to love, and not let hatred rule her life. Ultimately, she must defeat The Creature. The question she now faces is...how?
Rating: I would give this book a million stars, but sadly, Goodreads only lets me do the highest of 5.
