Iris Bromige was born in 1912, and as adult lived in Surrey, England. Her hobbies were gardening, collecting gramaphone records of opera and the classics, colour photography and bird-watching. She also enjoyed country walking with her husband and their dog, listening to music, going to the opera and trying to play the piano.
She was popular for her many novels, particularly those about the Courtland and Rainwood families.
Very interesting philosophical musings, albeit a bit pretentious.
The author kept force-feeding us the fact that the MCs were hot-blooded and passionnate (told over and over again by several side characters). They were not. In fact, they might be two of the coldest fishes I've ever came across.
The father of the guy who kind of jilted the h for her sister was really creepy towards the end. Here's him talking about the hero : "You can't beat a drop of Celtic blood where lovemaking is concerned. Upon my soul, I envy you both! When are you going to do the deed?"
