“The Three Year Lie is the sordid saga of a young girl’s sexual awakening, the precocious victim of childhood abuse that is a controversial, tragicomic book filtered through a complex psychological prism. Will outshock the Fifty Shades of Grey crowd, which will deeply disturb most consciences” Kirkus Reviews
I don't know what to say about this book. The author Miss. Amber Walter claims these things really did happen. Who am I to say it didn't? This book was a bit disturbing. A young little girl and a prominent Arizona state senator Who is a good 20 to 30 years older, start a sexual relationship. The main character "Brooklynne Crown" came from an abusive home, so she started staying with her best friend in school who happens to be the daughter of said senator. At times I honestly felt like the author read 50 Shades of Grey and was getting her inspiration from that. It was a short read, but the content is not for everyone! It is very sexual in nature! Not my favorite book, but it was written well. Lets just say the author Covered her tracks in case any nosey journalists started sniffing around. Miss. Walter does say she has no proof, so you can believe her or not. Read it and see for yourself!
Wow, I dont know what to think. The last chapter confussed the hell out of me! Is it all a lie, a fiction book? Or the true life story of "brooklynne"?
The Three Year Lie by Amber Walter was an amazing book. I saw a lady on YouTube called Channon Rose do a review on two of Amber Walters books and I knew I had to read them. I have to agree with Channon because in her review she says that she was shocked that someone who is as pretty is Amber is was able to write such a great book. I was skeptical about this book when I ordered it because I have read some books out there that drive me insane because they don't even seem like they were edited at all. This was a very well written book. It isn't a super long book so for me it only took a few hours and even it had been longer I know I would have just kept reading until I finished the book because it is a book I couldn't put down. There are parts of this book that make it 18+ at least for me. It is also so hard to believe but that makes it that more believable because I don't think anyone could come up with something that far fetched if it hadn't happened to them. I would recommend this book to just about everyone.
