Very good to use for character design ideas or brainstorming. Not much information on how to do things, besides watching the final result in most designs. My favourite ones were in the following order:
1. Kung Fu Girl by Qing "Qinni" Han 2. Villain WWII by Phobs 3. Trashbot by Lorenzo Etherington
There were many many more that I really liked, but the above ones were the top three that got my attention and had me thinking stories about the characters and their backgrounds before I could even catch myself thinking about it.
Back in the day I helped with the Indigogo funding of this book and was very happy to see the end result. It's a nice introduction to all kinds of different styles from various different artists!
I don't know how to say it, but the nicest way to say it is that more than 70% of the pieces are no better than intermediate art-student homework... The characters are very cliché, for one, and there are tons of line quality and form mistakes. (And yea, I understand that this book was published in 2014, which is all the more reason not to use as study reference NOW)
P.S. Kim Jung Gi's piece has such a dire contrast with the rest of the artworks that it feels like it got there by mistake! (All respect to the master)
