Another baby girl?
I swear, all these studly heroes and all we get is girl babies? Lol Just kidding! But it is kind of funny that in the last 12 books I have read they have all had little girls. Very sweet but just odd. This was a very good book. An evil MIL tries to replace the hero's wife because she isn't good enough. A bargain basement princess. That woman was truly evil.The poor wife has had 3 miscarriages and they both are traumatized. So dear mummy finds him a replacement and puts her evil plans in place. I cried in this one too. And she thinks he cheated and feels betrayed. Her sister Jessica is probably one of my favorite characters lately. She is feisty. I loved the things she said to him. Funny and deadly. I have a sister like that too. There are so many plotlines going on at the same time and it gets very intriguing. I loved all of them. And there are twists in the end that will make you see red! I definitely liked this story and I loved the happy ending.

Pretty good. Good enough that I finished it, which is saying something. I’ve been in a horrible DNF rut lately. I mean don’t misunderstand … it’s certainly not life affirming, and I wasn’t shaking my proverbial fist in the air, but I was mildly entertained.

MMC husband does theme parks? I don’t know… it was weird. I never really understood his dynasty. But he’s opening a new ‘park’ with a pop star princess as the face of the campaign.
Devious MIL from hell and her evil sidekick, the pop princess, really put the screws to our fair FMC. MMC was kinda dumb but overall just a simple-minded sweetheart. He loved his wife. There is no Temptation Island happening here. Although, he does fall into the ‘it looks real, real bad’ trap which was handily placed by evil MIL and the wannabe succubus.
Comeuppance for evil doers was immensely satisfying. HEA for our couple, who can now rule theme parks unobstructed, I guess. 🤷♀️
Not a bad read for some pretty low-key MMC betrayal and a nice, tidy grovel/comeuppance. ✌️

The thing you need to know is that his mother is a total monster, and that she is directly responsible for the deaths of their three children, miscarriages and stillbirths. She is also responsible for trying to break up the marriage by inserting a “famous” celebrity into their life.
And he is a weak, spineless mamma’s boy. Until he finally isn’t.

This is my second book by this author. And Ya know, it wasn’t too bad, as the story provided a pleasant couple of gut punches, and then the grovel, the comeuppance, and the HEA. The fmc had a MIL from hell and the fmc’s sis is a ride or die.

This mother-in-law was diabolical. She needed some concrete and a deep ocean.
H and h have been married a few years and h has had 3 miscarriages. That’s chipped away at her marriage. AND evil MIL helps. I did NOT understand the hero’s company at all. Anyway, he’s partnered with OW because OW is the face that sells it.
At the launch party, the h basically gets hidden behind the plants and she’s omitted out of pictures. Don’t worry, the hero has OW to stand by his side. That requires her to rub all over him and keep her hands on his chest. 🤪
(The heroine has more grace than me, because I would have turned that event into a WWF smackdown- with tables and chairs. 😇OW definitely would’ve been on the cover of the newspaper when she was body slammed)
The heroine just leaves and goes home. The hero promises to be home by midnight. Yeah, he doesn’t get home until 2am because he had to run to OW’s room because there was an emergency. Right. OW was wearing a silk robe and the hero still entered the room. 🔪
By the time the hero gets home, it’s already blasted all over the internet with pictures of him coming out of her room. Them looking intimate. Her hands on him. Them close together
Ummmm SIR! YOU’RE MARRIED! No way does any man think it’s okay or acceptable to be in an OW’s room between 12-2 am ALONE. While she’s wearing a silk robe and barefoot.
The heroine rightfully leaves.
A few days later she goes to talk to him and OW is at his house. Tbf to the hero- OW came in his house without his permission. Not sure why he didn’t call the cops? OW seems to know very private things about his marriage, especially the miscarriages. Anyway, the heroine overheard a piece of the conversation.
Naturally, we find out the MIL is behind everything. What was crazier, it’s alluded to that she may be responsible for the 3 miscarriages. it was her shady doctor that was helping the heroine. They never could physically prove it but there was enough evidence to show she was definitely behind it. Diabolical witch.
The only comeuppance was MIL was removed from all her parts of the company. And the hero cut her off.
That’s all we get???????? She needed to be arrested.
The epilogue was the MCs back together and having a baby.
This was very meh.
Some things sounded AI assisted.
Btw- I am tagging this as emotional cheating. The hero’s actions and POV definitely had me 👀👀 him

Better than Expected
The description of the book was interesting so I decided to read it, but I was expecting more of the same of the other betrayal books I have recently read. However, this book was beyond expectation. It wasn’t in the same vein as the others I have read it was a really good plot. With twits and surprises. The main characters were likeable and made you want to root for them. The betrayal was instigated by a person you did not expect.
After all the trials the couple has to go through, they do get their HEA almost bringing tears to my eyes.

I obviously 🙄 knew it would be AI especially with the stupid covers on all of this Authors books. I just needed something lowkey after the disappointment of my last read. I get sucked into these Ai stories unfortunately. I hate it.

With the MMC's mother you have proof that monsters do exist. Her daughter-in-law replacement is a vile airhead with a very low IQ. Fortunately the MMC truly loves his wife and survives all of the endeavors that the wicked duo dream up. the FMC's trust in her hubby is bruised but their love is real. Enjoyed the story and Jessica is a rock star.

Chloe and Sebastian had been married for an unspecified number of years. During those years, they had endured three miscarriages that, in the end, put a great deal of strain on their marriage. When they were set to attend the opening of Starlight Court, his latest theme park, Sebastian's mother, Janine, and the photographers all finagled her out of the photos in favor of the pop star named Katrina Haviland. She tried to tell him how it made her feel, but he just brushed it aside. He never even noticed when she left the event to return home. Sebastian tried to reassure Chloe that it was all for publicity, that he would be home before midnight to "make it up to her". But he never made it home that night. Instead, Chloe woke up to messages from her sister saying she was going to end Sebastian. It was only then that she started seeing headlines about Sebastian leaving the star's private suite in the wee hours of the morning, followed closely by photos and videos of him with Katrina, looking guilty and disheveled. It was the last straw in a long line of broken straws, so Chloe took off her wedding rings, packed a bag, and left before he ever returned home.
This was a very emotional story that had more than its fair share of angst, drama, and an emotional rollercoaster that would put the wildest rollercoaster to shame. For the most part, it was a very good story because it had everything you need to make it one. But because the author focused so much on the tender subject of multiple miscarriages, this reader felt the author went too far overboard in covering it...and then didn't go far enough in doling out the proper justice to the cause behind them.
If you're an author and you choose to write about this sensitive subject, and then you point to the reason behind it, you damned well better be prepared to bring the full justice behind it too. Don't do it half-assed as this author did. Yes, it pissed me off. The results of this seriously hurt the rating I gave the story.
I gave this book a two-star rating. That's all I'm going to say, because if I write more, I will add spoilers I don't want to include here.

Ok read
This was ok. I have a slight problem with the author making cookie cutter stories. I wasn't a fan of the way the husband was portrayed. Yes he should have paid attention to his wife about how she was treated. That is a given but, since the author, had him thinking he was putting out fires on a business level, he loved his wife, there should have been a moment that he needed support when he realized the extent of what his mother did. He obviously didn't see the extent the mother would do but the author had him took ALL of it as his failure. He was written flawed but I would have had him go to his wife expressing his hurt and disbelief at what his mother did. Maybe cry a little. Have her, in the mist of the hurt, have to be rational and be sympathetic. Maybe have her, chew her husband out, threaten to level, and then take back her marriage, her house without leaving. It be be nice to read a strong woman taking back what's hers and see how she does it. One last thing, I REALLY like that this author doesn't bring in another man who "shows there's another option" should the wife character leave her husband for good. I like that she doesn't have her fund her self worth because in the middle of pain some guy shows an interest. The author barely starts this road, which I was glad. When we read a marriage in crisis book, we want to read about the two main characters fight for the love they have for each other.

I enjoyed this story about a sweet couple, an evil mother in law, and an evil OW trying to break up the Hero's marriage. The cheating was only perceived by the manipulations of the OW. NOTHING HAPPENED and the Hero was completely innocent. I actually started to feel sorry for the poor dude. The other woman's shenanigans were fun to witness, and the evil mother in law added some excellent drama. She was TRULY evil. This was a sweet couple just trying to survive the life of the rich and famous. The Hero was a bit of a beta allowing his mother to do many shitty things to his wife, but he kept quiet to keep the peace with his mom. Until he realized how truly evil she had been under the radar. The evil OW and the evil MIL got what they had coming to them in the end, and that was excellent. I think this could have been a 4 star read for me if the story was a tad shorter. It drug on with the heroine auditioning and acting in a play to get over her heartbreak, and I definitely got bored reading that part.

The stilted repetitive conversations, the backstory that doesn’t really exist, my favorite is the absurd timeline…in less than a week MMC slept with the OW, next night confrontation at house, next day she auditions for Steel Magnolias community play, that night photos drop of the OW on the beach with a perceived baby bump ( pregnant within 3 days 🫣) then maybe 2 days later the full production of Steel Magnolias perform like super actors on stage. WTF? 🤬

This one was real
After numerous grovel stories with bad timelines and worse dialogue, finally a book with real heart.
This story is about a man who didn't make room for his wife, but allowed his mother to push her aside rather than have conflict. He loved Chloé, but didn't protect her.
Sébastien is weak and let's his wife down. He let's her be humiliated when work and projects make her invisible.
The characters and sadness felt real and so did the storyline.
Family can make or break, and this one did both.

I am often bothered by second chance romances because I find that there isn’t enough groveling and the MFC gives in much too easily. On occasion, such as with this story, it was done right and I was happy for them at the end. There was one steamy scene, but I skipped it so I have nothing to contribute on that. I would have liked to read about how the comeuppance affected the two women that deserved it not just that there were consequences.

Well written story with distinct character and a plot pace that's perfect to tell the tale. There was more emotional strings being pulled than I thought there would/could be. In fact, I don't expect any. I expected a shallow, canned story, that debatably had/didn't have AI involved. The only thing I'd like to see is the repercussions for Janine because she deserves to be living in squaller or in jail.

A love that endured family and public betrayal
A well written story that will make you angry, smile, cry and cheer for the heroine and hero. Loved how the heroine showed incredible fortitude and faced heartbreaking deceit but came through it all for love. A well written story that will make you angry, smile, cry and cheer for the heroine and hero. Loved how the heroine showed incredible fortitude and faced heartbreaking deceit but came through it all for love. I’m not sure I liked this book. She is a quiet wife who decided to leave him after some pictures were taken. I’m not a fan of running instead of confronting and then leaving. She appears weak and a quiet little mouse.
He is not the smartest for a CEO, his mother’s disdain was very clear and so were Katrina’s intentions.
Not my favorite.
I skipped to the epilogue because I couldn’t bear to read more of their fluffiness!

An OK read. The storyline, structure and execution, were not dissimilar from other books by this author. Unfortunately, therefore, it rendered this book predictable. It lost my interest, as soon as the similarities became obvious, and I found myself skimming through just to get to the end. It's OK for a light, short read.

I don’t leave a lot of reviews because I can’t express in words very well. I had to try with this book. This one really surprised me. I felt all the feels from both the mmc and fmc. The story line kept me interested and anxious to see where it went. Such a great emotional book! The writing was good . Definitely recommend!

I just started reading this author
But have read 3 today. The only thing I’m sad about is not knowing the sex of the baby. I’m making it a girl. I’m naming her Sydney just because it’s my mind and I can’t. I have loved all the 2nd chances novel Madison has written in this series. Thanks for giving us a HEA.❤️

Loved the story and the ending...

There was so much in this story but I am happy there was an HEA and I'm so angry that this couple had to go through all that evil behavior that was put on them by that evil woman. I'm also happy they got the ending they did but not happy about not knowing what name I was used in the end 😂

Super evil mother controlling her son, removing his wife. OW in cahoots with mom to destroy their marriage. Even tampering with wife's pregnancies. It had all of the ingredients, yet reading all of this I wasn't super engaged. Why is it some stories wrap you up in all the angst and others don't. Maybe my mood.

This was, for me anyway, one of the best out of the 4 in this series. Would I want to read more?.... to be honest, no I wouldn't. The story line in all of them appears to be similar, but that may be due to me trying to complete my Trash Dash. There are so many out there now that have the same story, or characters that it's ruining the enjoyment of choosing a good book.

This gave me so many emotions, it took me on a journey of high drama full of twists and turns that really hurt. I enjoyed reading this and it was realistic that could happen to anyone.
Not long enough this book deserves a epilogue so we find out more about the storyline. But worthwhile read

Oh my dear heavens. Poor Sebastian. You big dumb, beautiful man. I loved this story. I love that when she was pushed to the extreme limits. CHLOE snapped and left. And I love that. Sebastian never cheated on her, but recognized immediately that he let her down so tremendously that he might as well have. There’s minimal spice. But the book is amazing and I loved it.

A whirlwind of emotions ran rampant throughout this book. The drama crept up carefully, hidden just slightly before bursting into a dramatic war of words and actions that took my breath away. The revelations were mind boggling. The finale was perfect.

I really wish there was a way to opt out of terrible AI generated books. This book is so bad it’s almost good…but not quite. Not to mention it is almost identical to the other book in the series Song For Another Woman. Such a waste
