Bestselling Author Bernadette Marie writes contemporary romances and believes in Happily Ever After. The married mother of five believes in love at first sight, quick love, and second chances. An avid martial artist, Bernadette Marie is a certified instructor and holds a second degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. She loves Tai Chi, traveling to Disney parks, and having lunch with friends. When not writing, or running her own publishing house, Bernadette is probably immersed in a Rom Com, from which she will often quote one liners.
This isn't for me. There are way too many punctuation mistakes and I also didn't believe in a lawyer hitting on a widow (whether she was upset or not) at her husband's funeral. It was all a bit too farfetched for me and I packed it in 10% into it. The mistakes were plentiful...is was used in place of it, she does that awful American thing of creating words like "drug you into this"...horrendous. Too was used in place of to, commas were plonked in where they weren't needed yet left out when they were. This sentence-"...she looked his direction" lost in. All a little too slapdash, sadly. The actual story itself promised to be an intriguing one if it had only featured the three wives. We didn't need the addition of the horny lawyer, in my opinion.
I really enjoyed this trilogy. I thought the three stories were all excellent and loved how they came together. I also loved the resolution it gave. I especially liked having all three stories in one book; it made it easier to read and saved me the trouble of finding the others.
Edited to add: I saw another reviewer that said this was full of grammatical errors but I think he/she must have had an older version. Those things also irk me greatly but I hardly noticed any. There were a few annoying turns of phrase but they were few and far between.
Starting this book I didn't quite realize that it was in fact 3 stories. Bernadette has brought 3 amazing women together in this series and brought them to life. Giving little hints at pertinent information throughout, you have to piece together the clues to enjoy the mystery. And even though it was long, I totally enjoyed the whole experience from cover to cover ebook style.
Really a good read....How can a man be married to more than one woman at the same time, die and still be thought of in a good way in the end? There were a very discrepancies in the book, once I read he was a soldier in the Marines but the rest of the times they talked abut him being in the Army. But other than that, a great story of how family doesn't have to be blood!! Some good twists and turn to keep it exciting too!!
I loved the uniqueness of this story, how the characters developed, and how everything turned out. I probably would have given it 5 stars if the flow in the story had been better. There were several times when I'd start a paragraph and I'd be confused on where they were and what day to was. It was like pieces of time would be missing and it would just jump scenes. I did love the characters though and all their men.
Great read, I will read more of your books. Good all the way through. You didn't drop the ball half way All the wives got good lives, husbands, children, friends, but best of all peace and closure..
.Adam was bad,but he do some good in the end. Wonder if he ever realized what he was doing. His thoughts would have been nice.
When I first saw this book I wasn't going to read it, then I notice the author name and figured it had to be good since she wrote it, it was great, I could not put it down. from the first few sentences I knew I was hooked, very good.
First let me say the reading material was great !! It kept you in suspense, but the realist side was what it was. I didn't want to read to fast but I couldn't wait to finish it. I give it 5 star's.
I didn't think I was going to like this book, however it was very enjoyable. I enjoyed reading about all the different characters. I just wish we would have know why Adams mom was the way she was.
