The Three Mrs. Monroes #1-3

The Three Wives of Adam Monroe

Rate this book
BOOK 1 - AMELIA

From loss breeds new opportunity.

Amelia Monroe had felt the sharp pain from the loss of a soldier before—Adam Monroe’s death didn’t have that same effect.

Sam Jackson had one job—deliver Adam Monroe’s revised will. Even he couldn’t have anticipated that he’d be entangled in the web of lies his client had woven.

Doing what is right had been inbred in Amelia. She’d planned to say her goodbyes and start fresh. Staying in Adam’s small town with his other lies, that wasn’t part of her plan.

BOOK 2 - PENELOPE

From loss breeds new life.

Penelope Monroe married on impulse and her heart had been broken by Adam Monroe’s lies. Pregnant she wonders how she will survive, alone, with her baby.

Brock Romero held Adam Monroe when he died in combat. Now released from the Army he makes it his priority to find Adam’s wife and share with her his last words.

On the verge of making the same mistake twice, Penelope must trust her heart—especially when new lies are uncovered.

BOOK 3 - VIVIAN

From loss breeds new beginnings

Vivian Monroe had been jaded. Her husband’s death only compounded the lies she’d only come to learn about.

Clayton North knows a thing or two about loss. He figured it was fate for him to meet Vivian Monroe. He’ll take on the challenge of helping her mend her heart.

Midst new friendships and new romance, Vivian must let go of her pain and face the woman who helped Adam Monroe weave his deceptive web.

This isn't for me. There are way too many punctuation mistakes and I also didn't believe in a lawyer hitting on a widow (whether she was upset or not) at her husband's funeral. It was all a bit too farfetched for me and I packed it in 10% into it.
The mistakes were plentiful...is was used in place of it, she does that awful American thing of creating words like "drug you into this"...horrendous. Too was used in place of to, commas were plonked in where they weren't needed yet left out when they were. This sentence-"...she looked his direction" lost in. All a little too slapdash, sadly. The actual story itself promised to be an intriguing one if it had only featured the three wives. We didn't need the addition of the horny lawyer, in my opinion.

I really enjoyed this trilogy. I thought the three stories were all excellent and loved how they came together. I also loved the resolution it gave. I especially liked having all three stories in one book; it made it easier to read and saved me the trouble of finding the others.

Edited to add: I saw another reviewer that said this was full of grammatical errors but I think he/she must have had an older version. Those things also irk me greatly but I hardly noticed any. There were a few annoying turns of phrase but they were few and far between.

Long story short

Starting this book I didn't quite realize that it was in fact 3 stories. Bernadette has brought 3 amazing women together in this series and brought them to life. Giving little hints at pertinent information throughout, you have to piece together the clues to enjoy the mystery. And even though it was long, I totally enjoyed the whole experience from cover to cover ebook style.

Really a good read....How can a man be married to more than one woman at the same time, die and still be thought of in a good way in the end? There were a very discrepancies in the book, once I read he was a soldier in the Marines but the rest of the times they talked abut him being in the Army. But other than that, a great story of how family doesn't have to be blood!! Some good twists and turn to keep it exciting too!!

I loved the uniqueness of this story, how the characters developed, and how everything turned out. I probably would have given it 5 stars if the flow in the story had been better. There were several times when I'd start a paragraph and I'd be confused on where they were and what day to was. It was like pieces of time would be missing and it would just jump scenes. I did love the characters though and all their men.

I didn't think I was going to like this book, however it was very enjoyable. I enjoyed reading about all the different characters. I just wish we would have know why Adams mom was the way she was.
