This is the 1st book I have read from this author. I was given an ARC copy for an honest review. I have to say I truly did love this book. There are a few twists & turns in this book. Not your everyday shifter book. I personally would have liked Alex to be older, but her maturity is pretty level. Victor is your typical Rock Star. Or is he? Liked the way the plot thickens. This book was very different. It did have a lot of action & adventure. There was some misty love scenes. I was reading along as the plot got more intense, then BAM! The End. Not a big fan of cliff hangers. But I have to get the next book, because I want to find out what happens. 4 & 7/8 Stars. On the way to being a new Fan... Pam James

I received a soft copy of this book through the author herself. I can say that it is a short but an interesting read. It has lots of dialogue going on, so be prepared to seemingly eavesdrop on the characters. I enjoyed reading it.

Have you ever been sitting some where and all of a sudden your ear just seems to point in the direction of the table behind you because you hear an interesting conversation going on? Well thats how I felt when I was reading this book. This is my second read from Desiree and she has this storing telling down pat. It makes me wonder if she might have been one of her characters in this story because of how much she knew about how guys in the band act.

Moondance is the debut novel by Desiree King. It's a paranormal read and what I enjoyed the most is that it isn't like most paranormal stories. It blends a lot of the popular romance genres together such as the rockstar love, the bad boy, and there is a fair amount of action and suspense.

From the outside you would think Alex Summerland has everything you would ever want. She's gorgeous, she sweet, her brother is protective over her as well as her "lover", and she has the attention of the bad boy rocker Vic. Life as a paranormal isn't easy. There are things she hides and shies away from in order to protect herself. She keeps her magical identity a secret because if it was discovered what she is it could end of her life but there are only certain people who know. Alex is being pulled in many directions. She is ready to get back out into society after some trouble in her past but her "boyfriend" Jacob is ready to tie her to him. She wants three years to find her true love and in that time if she doesn't then she has agreed to tie herself to Jacob. Luckily she meets Vic but neither one can understand the pull between them. Throughout the story they're too scared to call it for what it is...fate. Vic is a werewolf who will soon be the head of his pack. He has a marriage arranged but cancels it when he finally understands what Alex is to him. Unfortunately there are those who aren't happy that fated pair.
Moondance was a good debut novel. I love the paranormal world the author created. I enjoyed how she didn't just write about werewolves and vampires but other paranormals you don't see often in stories. There is a lot of dialogue in this book and we move from scene to scene to scene kinda of fast which took me a minute to catch up mentally. I will warn you it does end with a cliff hanger. I kept trying to flip the pages on my tablet screaming "NOOOO it did not just end like that". So lets just say I'm patiently waiting for book two because I have to know what happens!

This is the second book I have read by Desiree King, and was not disappointed. Her writing is solid, and well structured. Her characters are complex but relatable. The paranormal aspect of this book has most genre covered. Her lead female, though youngish and traumatised works well. Her dark Alpha male oozes sex appeal.... angst and determination.
The story took a little time to get to where it seemed to flow effortlessly, and you were seriously anxious turning the page to see what was going to develop.
And gahhhh it ends on a cliff hanger, I groaned in frustration, but am reassured by the fact that the next book is on its way, and I cannot wait to read it.
I was given this book to read by the author, for an honest opinion.

Ohhhhh be still my beating heart. This book is for mature audiences only. The chemistry grabs you right from page one.
This book follows Alex and Victor as they discover not only who they are to each other, but what they are....
The story takes you on their journey through laughter, friendship and lots and lots of steamy scenes.
I laughed and cried along with the characters all through this book.
My only complaint was the ending......Desiree...I love and hate you girl💖💖💖💖💖💖
Write fast is all I can say....lol

The premise of the story was good, and pretty fast paced. Though I have a lot of questions. Some supernatural history, and characters pasts could have (should have) been elaborated on. Though there are scenes and comments making this a New adult/18+ I almost feel the writing style is a bit juvenile. And a little confusing when it jumps from first to third person. There is ALOT of promise here. I did like it, just wasn’t left with “the feels” you get after a good book. I also can’t say I wouldn’t a follow up, because I would, as I said... I have questions.

Fantastic book the way Desiree King wright's is fantastic. Ms King takes what you have read about the paranormal and put a big twist to it.
Alex a teenage model, Victor a rock star, both not looking for love. Alex is a siren and Victor and his band are werewolves. The band needed a model and that is Alex with a dark past that haunts her in her dreams. Now, Victor visits her in her dreams.
These story is fast and once you start it you can't put it down.

This book very much feels to me unfinished. It feels more like a rapidly written concept idea to me rather then a finished book. Some of the POV transitions are a little rough to pick up and it is really a fast story.

Overall not a bad story at all and definitely makes you want to read the next book to see where it goes from here. Like the characters and makes me want to get to know them. Just never truly settled into the story.

Paranormal is my favorite sub-genre and Alex and Vic's story is great. I love the suspense and intrigue and that Alex is a strong young woman and makes her way after childhood tragedy.
