When celebrities need a crime solving quickly and discreetly they call in the experts – the CCIA, otherwise known as the Celebrity Crimes Investigation Agency…
Stalkers, shootings and sexy special agents. All part of being famous, right?
Well, they are for Oscar-winning actress Amelia Kingston when she starts getting deeply disturbing and threatening notes left by a stalker – in her bedroom!
When her boyfriend Ty is shot she calls in the CCIA. The agency sends their newest recruit Amber and her sexy special agent partner Charlie undercover to Amelia’s luxury mountain chalet to track down the person terrorising her.
But circumstances force the agency to pull Charlie off the case, meaning Amber has a new crime fighting partner to try and catch the stalker with – and he’s trouble with a capital T! He throws Amber’s life into chaos, making her question herself and her abilities as well as her relationship with Charlie.
When events in Los Angeles involving Charlie are splashed across newspapers around the globe Amber’s world comes crashing down.
But before she can even attempt to sort herself out she has to team up with her rogue co-worker and solve this case. Can the two of them manage to pull together and stop the stalker before anyone else gets shot?

Being a freelance writer and editor of business publications is her ‘day job’ but, at every opportunity, she can be found scribbling down notes on scenes for whatever novel she’s working on. She loves it when the characters in her novels take on minds of their own and start deviating from the original plot!

Forever Mine is the 3rd book in the Amber Reed Mysteries. There are developed characters and a decent amount of conflict. The only problem is the conflict dealt more with the emotional side than the mystery side. This should be marketed as Women's Fiction instead of Mystery. As the mystery itself went? If there had been less of the emotional parts, I would have enjoyed the story a lot more. I would still recommend this one, but I would also preface about all the emotional upheaval built into the story.
When celebrity stalkers turn deadly who you gonna call? No, not Ghostbusters this time, but the CCIA, (Celebrity Crimes Investigation Agency to you and me). Zanna Mackenzie's cute little tale of skulduggery afoot (at a party in Amelia's chalet) in the French Alps. Forever Mine, tells of Oscar winner Amelia Kingston, her coterie of famous friends and of course her young lover Ty, who's shot while taking a stroll in the surrounding woodlands. Prior to that Ms Kingston's been receiving unexpected gifts, each accompanied by increasingly deadly threats!
How could they do that to our star? you may wonder, as do Amber Reed and her temporary sidekick Agent Dan. Ditzy Amber's usual amour Charlie's been sent undercover on another case in California, leaving her to the seductive powers of traitorous Dan. As a result it's a miracle the case ever reaches its surprising expose, since Amber begins to doubt her sleuthing skills and her undying devotion to Charlie, resulting in a most unlikely love triangle!
Can Charlie win Amber back, or will she succumb to Dan's divine temptation? And who's the foul fiend who's been threatening Amelia and wounded poor Ty? Well, I could tell you - but then I'd have to kill you, so instead, why not pop off to the bookshop now and buy your own copy? Or better yet, buy the whole Amber Reed Mystery series (five to date, including this one) and settle down for a fabulous mystery-solving experience with Amber, Charlie and the CCIA team - you'll love them all, guaranteed! More please, Ms Mackenzie!
The latest case for Charlie and Amber is that of Oscar-winning actress Amelia Kingston, who seems to have a stalker who's getting progressively more dangerous. In fact, CCIA arrives right after her boyfriend, Ty, gets shot under mysterious circumstances in the woods...on a hiking trail...outside of hunting season. Agent Dan also joins the case when Charlie gets called away to California for a different case. Amelia is having several friends out to her cabin for a holiday, and so many of them have motive, it's nigh overwhelming, even for the senior agents. Yet another series where it's OK but the protagonist is not likeable. Not sure I'll continue reading unless I know Amber snaps out of it.
This is the third book in Amber Read mystery series.
This time Amber and her Charlie are called away to a luxurious ski resort where famous actress Amelia needs their help. She has been receiving strange gifts and messages while staying in her chalet. As soon as they arrive Amelia informs them that her boyfriend has been shot. Since her freinds are invited for a stay, Amber and Charlie have to pretend that they are Amelia's friend, there to simply enjoy themselves. This makes their job even harder as they can not conduct investigation as they usually do. Then the worst happens, Charlie is whisked away on another job and dangerous Dan, Charlie's nemazis is sent to continue the investigation and works with Amber. Not long after Amber sees picutres of Charlie and female celebrity holding hands, she is devastated. Beautifully described scenes of ski resort, characters are well portreyed, you can easily imagine them with their secrets and hidden agendas. The story reminds me of Agata Christie's books when all characters are in one place and it is up to the detectives to reveal the culprit. Full of twist and turns, romantic and heartbreaking scenes and dangerous adventures, this is a fast paced mystery that can not be missed by Amber's fans.
This was actually a well-written story, but my copy of the eBook said this was "Humorous Romantic Mystery". Well, there was a fair amount of low-key romance, but definitely no humor. The story was very serious, with two investigators working undercover to protect an actress from a stalker. There were a lot of interesting relationships in the story, especially between the investigators. First there is Charlie and Amber who have had a relationship for quite awhile that keeps becoming closer, but when Charlie is taken away to handle another important case, things change dramatically. And his replacement, Dan, only complicates things. Anyway, relationships are complicated, but usually helping the agents work well together. Between the mystery of who is the stalker and wondering what is going to happen between the agents, it was hard to put down the book most of the time.
Amber is a new recruit with the Celebrity Crimes Investigation Agency (CCIA) and working as a support officer to other special agents. She just cannot be satisfied in that role. Isn’t it enough to be rubbing elbows with the rich and famous while conducting investigations? Will Amber be able to separate her professional and personal lives? Will her zany antics and inability to follow the rules ruin it all? And there are so many twists and turns popping up. Danger is everywhere. Will the CCIA team be able to identify and stop the villain before he strikes again?
This mystery story is a clean, fun, and easy read. Even though this tale is less than believable, it is a more than entertaining story of murder and mayhem.
Read this book to fulfill a reading challenge task. I like the book in general but found I was far more interested in the mystery than the romance aspect and angst. I'd have been happy to eliminate that part of the story. A lot of it was repetitious.
I didn't figure out who the bad guy was way ahead of time so that was nice to keep wondering.
In keeping with not enjoying the angsty romance, I also didn't appreciate that people were sleeping together even if it wasn't graphic. It just doesn't need to be there.
Sex: not graphic. Language: some Violence: stalker and threatened violence
Amber & Dan close the case, Charlie isn’t involved with this one all the way he gets called out on another case, leaving Amber to work with Dan. Amber’s jealousy bubbles up & things get out of sorts with Charlie, but Dan seems to jump right in, but maybe in more ways than the case. Amber’s usual thinking out of the box gets her in a pickle again but works out & Dan is happy for her! I’m really j Happy with these series so far, keeps you interested & entertained & guessing.. Easy reading & very human emotions!
You are at a beautiful chateaux in France, working with the love of your life, trying to find out who is stalking your client. Gifts, flowers, and threats are being left for Amelia, beautiful, famous and terrified movie star who is being stalked by someone that knows a lot about her private life. Then her boy friend is shot and the chateaux is set on fire. Will you find the stalker before someone dies?
4 stars I purchased Amber Reed Mysteries: Forever Mine book 3 by Zanna Mackenzie and this review was given freely. Set in the UK and written in UK English. A stalker takes Amber and Charlie to the French Alps chalet of actress Amelia Kingston. Multiple twists, a shooting, a fire, a change in parner for Amber, a crisis between Amber and Charlie, and an ending cliffhanger make this an interesting novel.
Another grand mystery. CCIA agent Amber Reed fallowers will be pleased in knowing another fast paced ,glamorous and steamy mystery involving an array of new and old caracters to fallow. As always you never know who to believe including other agencie members involved in secrets from their own pasts, all I can tell you is Amber has an awful lot to contend with. Kat
A Seductive Mystery Stalkers, shootings and sexy special agents. All part of being famous, right? Well, they are for Oscar-winning actress Amelia Kingston when she starts getting deeply disturbing and threatening notes left by a stalker – in her bedroom! This is a good mystery full of angst. The culprit was a confused person. He just wanted a child of his own. I borrowed this book from KindleUnlimted. This in no way affects my opinion of this book.
I liked this book but not as much as I liked Zanna Mackenzie's other books that I have read. I didn't like it when Amber and Charlie broke up. I hope that they get back together in the next book. I enjoy reading about Amber and Charlie. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading a good clean cozy mystery.
A cozy mystery set in the French Alps, in a swanky resort. The heroine and her partner, both working for a celebrity agency, have to solve a mystery, A famous actress is being "haunted" by notes and gifts, signed Forever Mine. When her boyfriend is shot, fortunately, not gravely, she begins to worry about her safety. A good read.
These are cute cozies but I am getting annoyed with the main character. She is so insecure. This is a light feel-good read. I prefer stronger women characters. Hopefully, the next book will be better as the character has room to grow. Maybe 20 somethings can relate more to her character than an old grumpy person like me. Worth reading when you are in the mood for a light read.
Another great entry in this cozy series. Brings some twists and turns that should be resolved in the next book since all parties will be working together on the next case for the CCIA. Interesting.......
But I do not enjoy Amber. She is very insecure and too young. I do not think she would have ever passed her psych test to get into the organization. They probably would have picked up on her insecurities that is way too much for this time of job.
Crimes to solve, celebrities, stalkers and undercover agents. All this and more in Forever Mine. This is my first book by Zanna Mackenzie and definitely won't be the last. I enjoyed her writing and how she developed the story.
First book by this Author, must say very entertaining! Amber and Charles goes undercover looking for a stalker of a movie star, who leaves gift, and threatening notes. Enjoyed reading this book, I got the rest of the books in the series.
I personally don’t like a lot of romance in a storyline and I definitely don’t like someone who repeatedly is jealous and has insecurities. I want a character to grow into a more balanced person. The cozy mystery part was pretty good I enjoyed that but I just skimmed through the other stuff.
I liked this story except I wonder how Amber got in to the job she has as she just isn't that good at it. I wasn't thrilled that it was obvious people were sleeping together despite it not being graphic. That didn't really add to the story for me.
