alternate cover edition of ASIN B00XTQ9NBO

“I feel like I’ve been wearing blinders for my entire life and now they’ve been ripped off and everything’s too bright – too harsh. Part of me wants them back so I only have to see what’s right in front of me.” --Logan

After Logan Bradshaw’s dreams go up in smoke, he’s left broken and haunted by a cruel betrayal from his former business partner, a man he once thought of as a friend. His life as a professional escort helped pay for his future once, so maybe a few more jobs can give him back what he’s lost. And if that means being a third for one night for a wealthy couple living out a ménage fantasy, then so be it. It might just be the final payout he needs to get his life back on track.

Dominic Barretti has everything money can buy, but it can’t save his beautiful young wife as cancer steals her away from him. He also can’t deny her one last request – a ménage encounter with another man. It’s the perfect excuse to meet the man who’s been haunting his dreams. On paper, Logan is the perfect choice to give his wife what she needs, but he doesn’t expect his own fierce desires to flare up when the young man enters their lives.

Dom and Logan don’t know it, but Sylvie Barretti has decided to play matchmaker from beyond the grave. Unfortunately, getting two broken men to find each other makes dying seem like the easy part.

Logan can’t deny his attraction to Dom, but the surprise desire for another man has left him reeling and questioning everything he’s ever known about himself. But when a threat from the past surfaces, will Logan be able to let go of the life he knew and embrace the one he needs?

Note: This book contains M/M sexual content and is intended for mature audiences.

Well....let me explain how I feel.....Prepare.......major ranting and spoilers ahead !!!

 photo Breaking-Bad-walter-jr-pissed-off_zpsgepsyvkd.gif

I've read a couple of books by this author and so far I've liked them all. I even liked this one...just not as much as the others and I will explain why.

Logan and Dom (I already knew them from the other series) met because Doms dying wife (Sylvie) arranged for them to have a threesome. She does this because she knows her husband is bi and has a hard-on for Logan.

You see Logan is an escort and Dom has saved Logans life not to long ago, when he was shot. Logan does not know about this because he was out cold and his memory about the event is fucked up. Dom and his brother own a security company. Shane, Logans best friend, and boyfriend of Logans sister hired Dom to look into some stuff, because he wants Logan and his girlfriend safe. That's how Dom got to know about Logan, who he was, and his history.... and he started lusting after Logan.
His dying wife, doesnt want him to be left alone when she's gone so she thinks the threesome will get things going. She wants Dom with Logan, because she knows Dom wants him.

Now Logan...he knows nothing....also he's straight. However, during the threesome he feels a very strong connection to Sylvie and Dom. He even kisses Dom (he never kisses a client and he's straight). He also kisses Sylvie..he thinks she's wonderfull and beautiful. He feels so empty when he has to go home....

Sylvie leaves Logan a letter after her death, asking him to take care of Dom (she only met him once ??) Logan has these strange feelings for Dom, so he decides to do what Sylvie asked of him and goes to visit him. He ends up fucking Dom, because that's what Dom wants. In the morning, Logan feels guilty and so does Dom and he starts throwing money in Logans face, because well....Logan is a whore after all.

They don't see each other for a while, but Logan is in danger and Dom doesn't want to see him hurt, so he gets a bodyguard from his company to protect Logan...Cade (he has his own book, he's awesome). Now Cade is also gay and he wants to help Logan with all his mixed up feelings....about being bi or gay and about Dom. You see Cade knows that Logan only wants Dom. Now Dom is not so happy with Cade. He explodes again and starts calling Logan a whore....again.

They end up fucking in Logans bedroom....but without freaking condoms, because Logan doesn't want anything between them and Dom agrees. Now this pissed me off so bad. They are not in a relationship, Logan has been an escort for years, they don't really know each other and have been together only once and already they want to have sex but they don't want anything between them ?? GAH !!!!

 photo giphy_zpsmcn2punk.gif

Ofcourse shit goes tits up again, because Logan finds out that Dom payed off all his medical bills (Logan was shot not to long ago). This makes Logan feel like a whore again so he strikes out at Dom and tells him that he feels like he can't trust anybody. Dom is extremely hurt. Turns out it was Sylvie who paid the bills before her dead. But Logan didn't know this. Dom is so pissed at Logan he doesn't want anything to do with him anymore.

 photo Jr4al4_zpsxglvkwu4.gif

He freaking called Logan a whore more than once...he was a complete asshole, but still Logan forgave him and came back. Even though he was confused as shit, but Dom can't forgive him for having trust issues (which he has every right to, considering what he's been through) Damn Dom...you are an asshat !!!

There is much more going on in this story with a serial killer/rapist on the loose, but I don't want to spoil everything...... I already spoliered enough.

I liked a lot of books so far by this author. They are heavy on the insta-love but at least you could always see the love and respect between the characters....I didn't really see that here.... which disapponited me !!!

Still 3,5 stars because the storyline was very good and the steam was hot

Sorry about my ranting....

Almost all of Sloane Kennedy's books are interwoven somehow, and even though this series was published first, my first Sloane Kennedy book was from her Protectors series. After a few books in, I found an author note that mentioned a couple of reading order suggestions for the most enjoyable experience of her books. So, I listened. I went and scooped up her backlist. Dom seems to be the Sloane Kennedy family patriarch in a way, so I started there.

The good news: now I know the history between Logan and Dom.

The bad news: I wish I didn't. It wasn't as romantic as I wished it to be.

I haven't read anything by Sloane Kennedy outside of her Protectors series. After finishing Forsaken, I read the author's note recommending to go back and read certain of her past books if you wanted a bigger and fuller picture of the secondary characters involved in the next book in the Protectors series, Vengeance. I was told to start with this one, and that's what I did.

First off, as an FYI - Eli (one of the MC's in Forsaken) is introduced in this book. So, if you're a wee bit OCD about things, then I recommend reading this book before Forsaken to get a first look at Eli's heartbreaking history.

Ok, now on to the couple at hand....Logan and Dom.

It was really hard for me to warm up to these two. The blurb does a really good job of giving you the setup, so I'll just share my thoughts.

These two were just downright hurtful to each other. Any time the emotions got too real, they would hurl the ugliest and cruelest words at each other. They knew what their insecurities and weaknesses were, and that's right where they aimed the insults.

This went on for too long. Hot and cold for the majority of the book....even though the insta-lust/love was constantly bubbling below the surface.

The first time they have sex was downright uncomfortable. With Logan having never been with a man and Dom having just buried his wife that day, the passion and desire that the author was trying to convey didn't come across. Neither man was in the right head space. Like I said....uncomfortable.

Although Sylvie wasn't necessarily a ghost in every room, the way the author went about having her play "matchmaker" was a bit hokey. I liked the message that Dom never really has to "choose" who he loves more, but I think there could have been a better way to go about bringing that message across.

The ending was a bit rushed and the HEA was sweet, even if the epilogue was a little too saccharine induced for me.

One thing I can say is after reading this book, it's clear how much Sloane Kennedy has evolved as a writer. The beginnings of her addictive style of writing can be seen here, but she really hit her stride with the Protectors series.

The Barretti Security series is next on my list to tackle and then I can make my way back to the Protectors series. Memphis, Brennan and Tristan are waiting for me patiently....

Man, I should have read this one before reading Forsaken. Not that I felt lost, or anything, when I read that book, but we meet Eli in this one, when he is a scared 15 year old boy living on the streets. We don't see a lot of him, but it's striking just how much he changed from that scared boy to the young man he became in Forsaken. Anyway...Logan's Need isn't about Eli. It's about Logan and Dom.

I'm pretty used to this author's over the top writing style by now, so I just roll with it. Dom's wife, Sylvie, who is dying, requested a threesome as a last hurrah and Dom chose a man he had become obsessed with. Just like Sylvie planned. You see, she knew her husband was bisexual and she didn't want him to be alone after she died. Believable? No, not really. At least in the way it played out. I mean, I wouldn't want my husband to be alone if something happened to me, either, but I'm not going to set him up before I go, or beyond the grave.

And Logan has never felt attraction to another man before. Of course, the way he describes it, he never much felt attraction to women, either. Maybe he's demisexual or maybe he's detached himself from the sexual act because he was an escort. Who can say?

Logan and Dom, though -- wowza. Hot. But of course, they have to hurt each other, some, before they can manage to actually get together. And throughout the whole book, the man who tried to kill Logan and his sister is looming over the story, threatening to put a knife into their happy.

So like other Sloane Kennedy stories, suspend your disbelief and just enjoy the ride. This was a story about two men getting their second chance at life and at love and paying it forward along the way.

Now I'm off to read some of the Barretti Security series. I'm going to start with book 2, though, because M/F doesn't really interest me, right now. But that's just me.

*** Dominic and Logan are each in need of tender loving care !
I loved these characters and their conflicts and confusion, and wild emotional twists.
Logan, 28, has been through so much, so young.

His folks died leaving him to care for his younger sister. His business partner, five years later turned out to be a monster, his business burned down, and he's reverted to the escort business once again with a trustworthy firm.

He's been hired for a threesome with husband and wife, Dominic and Sylvie. Little did he know that night would change his life.
The book begins with super sexiness, but it is the husband, big, bald, muscled Dominic, Logan finds himself having feelings for,

as their kiss rocks him to his core. When he finds out that she died a month later, from her cancer, he goes to the funeral, receives a letter, and goes to Dominic Barretti. They need each other, it's obvious, but Logan is conflicted about wanting a man, and Dom thinks it's too soon after his wife's death. But her letter to Logan tells a story. So, it is GFY, gay for you, where Logan only wants Dom. Dom is a magnificent character in the series !

We ache for these two men, to let go and love.

There is a marvelous variety of characters, a few storylines at once, and deeply passionate, intense and erotic M/M sex, that dominates this tale. These two men are like fireworks when they get near each other. First times with a guy for Logan, and some firsts for Dom, too. Gosh, it's hot and heavy, ecstasy and agony, as we watch them navigate their emotions. They each make mistakes, but I really understood their issues.

Dom saves young Eli from the streets, a serial killer is being tracked and Dom and his brothers are searching for two missing brothers. Some events are successful, some are still ongoing. It's a beautiful series about broken men healing and becoming whole, and paying it forward.

Magnificently written by Sloane Kennedy, with her fresh ideas, and dynamic flowing plots. Her characters intertwine into each series. I've nearly read them all.
I highly recommend this love story. ENJOY !

I really don't like the 3-somes. That's prob why I take 2 stars off. I feel like the love between the 2 MCs is not as "true" when there's a 3-some. And esp. in the epilogue... Logan saying they will eventually all be together. Ugh.

Not my thing.

Otherwise, OK...Might have been 4 stars if not for the dead wife in between. Might have been 4.5 if the male escort trope wasn't used again.

I get it, people fall on hard times. But I'm not keen on any sort of "whoring" trope, whether it's voluntarily (as in the typical flirty manwhores) or by "necessity" bc it's easy money for a good cause.

So there you have it. Chemistry btw MCs is strong. Writing is not bad. Just the other plot devices wear thin on me.

I don't know if it's me, but I couldn't get to love this book. I can't seem to really enjoy the books I've been reading lately. Still looking for one to surprise me. And Logan's Need was not it.

I was excited to read this one because it's my first book by Sloane Kennedy and I've heard only good things about her writing. The Protectors series got me curious, but I'm kind of afraid to start it. So many books! And my TBR really doesn't need more adding.

This book was good, but not great. Many scenes were hard to believe and even if the sex was hot, well Dom and Logan made me roll my eyes a lot. The angst was unnecessary most of the time and they could have dealt with their problems differently.

Overall it was OK. An OK story I guess. Not sure if I'll read more books in this series though.

Okay, can we just agree that Dom is a FUCKING douche, and that Logan is sort of a doormat? And despite this, I kind of enjoyed this story... Kind of.
This is a rating that is hovering between 2 and 3 stars, but I'll leave it at 3 for now.

I am definitely starting to see a trend here, and I don't know if it's because that I've gobbled up the first 4 books of the 'Protectors'-series and this one in a matter of days, that it is especially clear, BUT the amount of miscommunication and catty remarks that these men fling on each other is quite astounding.
Also the weird: I will call you something nasty, and EXPECT forgiveness, but when you call ME something nasty I will never forgive you.

Dom calls Logan a whore, NOT once but TWICE to his face. Dom -on purpose- hits Logan on one of his most vulnerable subjects, because Dom is jealous.
And when Logan FINALLY stands up for himself, Dom won't forgive Logan for the words Logan said (nowhere near as bad as whore.)
I'm speechless! It really does feel like MF once in a while.

Also what the HELL is going on with all these 'dub-con' scenes in these books... I really really don't want this to become a trend in the MM-genre.
Dom does beg for it here, however some lines were definitely blurred, but not as much as in Retribution.

Lastly I really wanted a more clear picture of Dom's relationship with Eli, since Dom's VERY special to Eli in his story. Sadly that part was skipped-over and what was, felt very rushed.

So yeah this series and the connecting ones are a very mixed bag of tricks for me so far.

3 stars!! 😊It was ok, not quite as good as the "Protectors" series, but I am not deterred. I intend to continue the Barretti series (only M/Ms) to get some background information. I know I should have read this before "Forsaken", but still it was great to finally get the full picture behind Eli's sad past. It was even more heart-breaking to read his actual circumstances when Dom and Logan rescued him from the streets. Nevertheless this was actually Dom and Logan's story and there I found myself floundering in the melodrama of their meeting😳, inta-lust🔥, tragedy of Sylvia's death (Dom's wife)😭; the first time they are intimate 😱😬and finally the never-ending hot and cold interactions between them that follows.. 😳🙄. Too much was thrown into the plot (A straight MC, undead villain, dead wife's letters etc), but I still ended up liking the two MCs; Dom and especially Logan saved the book for me. The last few chapters brought some nail-biting action, but I was glad that it ended on a happy note for everyone involved.
This was relatively shorter than Ms. Kennedy's later books (Protectors series) and I am happy for it, since I want to finish reading Rafe and Ren's stories too before continuing on with the Protectors. I definitely think that SK's writing has improved and her newer books are better. 😍👍

This was book 3 in "The Escort" series. This was a really good read. Logan Bradshaw's dreams went up in smoke and he is left broken and haunted by a cruel betrayal from his former business partner, a man he once thought of as a friend. Dominic Barretti saved him when he was shot and left for dead in a burning building. Dom is going through something his wife Sylvie is dying of cancer and he agrees to a threesome with another man so she hires Logan. Neither man expected to feel sparks that they did. When Sylvie dies she sends Logan a letter asking him to take care of Dom and where to find him. These two hook up Dom is so broken and alone but the next morning doesn't go well Dom treated Logan like a whore. When they find out that the man who shot Logan and raped his sister Savannah is alive Dom goes into protective mode. I really liked how Dom helped Eli the 15 year-old boy that they found working the streets. Turns out his sister has been missing for a year and had a boyfriend by the name of Cy who turned out to be Sam the same man that shot Logan. Both Logan and Dom struggled with their feelings for one another Dom because his wife just died and Logan struggled because he thought he was straight. I really liked the other characters in this book they are all loving and supportive of each other. I really liked this book. It was well written like the rest of the books in this series with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more about the Barretti's.

If you are going to purchase one Audiobook this year.... Make it this one....
Or, well.... Any book written by Sloane Kennedy and narrated by Michael Pauley
(but really, get this book and you will not be disappointed with your purchase)
The book + The Narration = Perfection
5 Stars for the book and 5++ More for the Audio
While I really liked this book when I initially read it *I gave the book 5 stars* This book in Audio is just So. Much. Better. Logan and Dom have the most well written love story. We get drama and angst and action, love and heartbreak. This book is so Damn good, and the Author could not have picked a better narration to bring these Men's story to life. Michael Pauley's voice just gives So much more intensity and Steamy heat to this already Hot book, Really Outstanding Narration.
Logan is recovering from some major Past Drama involving his sister and his former Partner at his bar. He meets Dom and his wife, by chance, or so Logan thinks. But as we find out throughout this story, Dom and Logan meeting was really Fate and Silvie (Dom's wife) bringing them together, somehow knowing that they will need each other in the end. They just need to overcome everything that stands in their way, even each other... There is so much more to this book, But I really do think it needs to be Read or Listened to first hand without any outside influence like reviews to get the full effect.. And, Get The Audiobook!!!

I recently started reading Sloane Kennedy's The Protectors Series, I am three books in but Sloane advices reading in an order and I double checked with a friend on here and she advised me to read this and The Barretti Security Series before I continue with The Protectors Series (confusing I know) so I skipped the first two books in this series The Escort as they are m/f and each book in stand alone and read Logan's Need to get me closer to The Protectors.

I thought I would struggle to get into this having withdrawals from the Protectors gang but OMG I loved Logan and Dom.

I enjoyed the prologue it was different and steamy. I did struggle with Logan and Dom to begin with, with the circumstances with Dom and especially the first night they were together considering what day it was I did not like that but neither did Logan he felt guilty and he was punishing himself but after the letters from Sylvie it helped me and him get passed it.

There is instant attraction between these two but they both feel guilty because of Sylvie so their relationship is not an easy one it is just a physical one dirty raw rough sex, cruel words are said by both men, Logan is confused as he has never been attracted to a guy before until Dom.

When Logan and his family are in danger Dom puts them all under the protection of Barretti Security.

This is were I felt I was missing out as I skipped the previous book with Sam the psycho, I am going to read the previous books when I am in a m/f mood.

In the end this was as enjoyable as The Protectors series it is full of sexy men, suspense and some tough drama.

What I enjoy with all the couples from SK is they fight and argue A LOT it is not all hearts and flowers which I find refreshing.

I am looking forward to read the complete series of The Barretti Security Series before I get back to The Protectors.

That was ok, I guess. Just don't know if I buy the whole thing with the wife. And way too insta-lovey for me.

But I liked the chemistry between the MCs. Moving on to the Barretti Security Series, in preparation for the next "Protectors" book.

Angsty and contrived Drama

I liked Dom and Logan in the beginning but the amount of self loathing and hurtful things they said to each other eroded what was supposed to be love.
Logan, who was working as an escort, already had a bad sense of self due to his background and feeling betrayed by his friends. He didn’t know his sister was hurting and he also blamed himself for that.
When he was requested by a couple, he just connected with them in a sweet way.

Then the author just decided to murk it all up by adding extra drama. What seemed like an awesome connection just devolved into angry sex, guilt and hurtful words.

Logan and Dom never gave the other the benefit of the doubt, often jumping to the worst conclusion about all situations. Then considering the baggage Dom and Logan had, the hurtful words were devastating. They definitely were physically attracted to the other but maybe some therapy in the beginning would have been great to help.

I find that this author relies on this type of over the top angst that drags on. And a lot of her main characters have martyr complexes. It was exhausting.

⭐ 3.5 "it's not you, it's the ghost of your deceased wife looming over us both" stars ⭐

(Too long? Listen, it's accurate.)

If the previous books were already dramatic and OTT, the last one in the series takes the cake babyyy! Oddly enough, I fell more in the "thoroughly entertained" category than in the "rolling my eyes at this crap" one.

Because... Yes, the drama was extra. Yes, the villain was a caricature of a one dimensional, moustache twirling bad guy. Yes, the arguments between the main couple and their back and forward ended up feeling extremely gratuitous at times...

But did I care in the end? Not at all.

Plus I have a rule where if a book manages to get even a tiny itty bitty tear out of me, it's getting at least three stars. Because I love angst and using crying over fictional stories as an outlet. And this one DELIVERED plentiful in the angst department. The melodrama might've been OTT, but it was *my* kind of OTT. Which I inhaled.

Can't rate it more than 3.5 though because the whole "dead wife" aspect ended up putting me off. A mmf relationship would've been one thing (and I would've totally been on board with this if Sylvie stayed alive), but the way this deceased woman orchestrated so many aspects about Logan and Dom's relationship? It ended up seeming as if she was the ghost part of a very bizarre throuple....

So yeah, you could say *that* was not my cup of tea romance wise lol.

The interactions and romance between Logan and Dom themselves was nice though, if I were to ignore the giant dead wife shaped elephant in the room. And the steam levels were juicy and definitely made me more invested (without spoiling anything, the way the power dynamics worked between the pair was HOT).

Now I can finally move onto the next part of the Sloane Kennedy Literary Universe!

I kinda started this on a whim, as it seems I've been doing that a lot lately LOL, but nevermind, I love when it happnes suddenly and out of the blue, and I end up loving it, even more...

And that happened with this book, it's not merely MFM and MM romance/sex scenes, nevertheless, they are extremely well written, NOT only are they hawt but the scenes are also sensual, emotional and captivating...

and besides, this story is so much more than just "forbidden/unconventional" intercourse, it's a story of finding yourself all over again, it's about redemption, pain and loss and it's about beating the labels, breaking free and being whole as a person.

I think I'm the next one in line of being a Sloane Kennedy fan! *wink*

This was awesome! All the emotions, explosive chemistry, all the anguish while Dom and Logan tried to figure out if there could be a them. It was so painfully good. I breezed through this book, and surprisingly Sylvie's involvement made it even better.

I must admit that this book is brilliant. So much angst from all directions. First, was Logan's struggle with his own sexuality. It was beautifully written. Then Dom's grief over death of his wife which was so profound I felt it coming off the pages. Then their mutual struggle to find themselves as a couple that was full of heartache and amazing intimacy. All the family dynamics that brought even more torment for Logan and Dom, and I loved it all!!! I highly recommend it!

I’m trying to figure out exactly how these guys fell in love. They barely talked. When they DID talk, it was to say the most hurtful things to each other. There was no depth to this relationship beyond the sex. I'm trying to read these intertwining series in the author’s recommended order (minus the mf books), but it’s strange to go from a book with character and relationship development to one with none of that.

Consigliato ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

My gawd the drama!

The epilogue goes a long way to making up for all the drama in this book. I'd picked this one up because it has a link to book four in the Protectors series I'm currently reading so I figured I best get with the program.

It's not a bad book and a suspension of eye rolling is needed at times as Logan and Dom try to outdo each other on the "say hurtful things to the guy" you're falling in love with front.

But, having done that, Sloane Kennedy knows how to write a sex scene and the ones you get in this book are "slam you up against the wall and get dirty" hot which goes a long way to making up for some of the crap these men put each other through.

The secondary plot is a leftover from a previous in the series which I haven't read as it's M/F and I'm not bothered about that any more but it's explained away and all concludes to lead into the Barretti series which is where I'm off next in my reading chain.

Wow - what a ride!!! This book started in a way I didn't expect, but that I felt added more depth and authenticity to the plot, and didn't take away from the love that grows between the two main characters. The sex scenes were SMOKING hot, but that is in part because the author makes you really care for the characters and feel the connection between them. At one part of the book, I literally had tears rolling down my face because I hurt for the pain one of them was feeling (no worries, it doesn't stay sad for long). This was definitely a 5-star read for me that I can see returning to again and again.

Started off great, but I'm seeing a pattern with my experiences with this author's books. I always love the beginning and middle, and then right around 80% they descend into a dramatic, angsty-for-no-good-reason, eye-roll worthy mess. Logan and Dom were already kind of iffy and dramatic and, though the initial sexual tension and storyline was superbly done, the entire premise, so close to Dom's wife's death, was kind of unrealistic even with Sylvie's blessing. Had they been avoiding each other for that reason I would have totally gotten it, instead they seemed to be circling each other, and pushing and pulling away from each other, for reasons unknown to me...or them, apparently. When they finally got together I was confused...since I didn't understand exactly why they were punishing themselves in the first place (one fairly mild argument where apparently things were said that were so unforgivable uh huh)...and I wasn't really sure what was different now. The constant 'please kiss me', 'No I can't be with you' got old, and was not becoming of two grown ass men. The characters never seemed to know whether they were coming or going, and it just left me unable to really follow. The 'I love yous' for me were just kinda like 'Ok, if you say so.' Right on cue, at around 80% I started skimming just to get to the whole villain scenario. I pretty much skipped all the sex scenes after the first two.

Still, I want to read Cade's book if he has one. Sigh. I know. I know.

I was hesitant at first to start this book. But I’m sure glad I stuck with it. I loved Dom and Logan.

While this could be read as a standalone, I would suggest reading Shane's Fall first. This contains spoilers for that book and also has a continuous plot. I didn't read it and felt like I was dropped into the middle of a story, playing catch-up. I skipped it due to how much I disliked book one, Gabriel's Rule and while this book was better, I still had many issues with it.

First and foremost, I cannot stand the "dead ex" trope unless it is done very well. This wasn't horrible but it still bothered me. Dom falling in love with Logan so quickly after burying his wife was...iffy...to say the least but I could deal with that. Wendy's review perfectly articulated the main issue I had, which was Dom. Logan worked as an escort and was hired by Dom and his wife, Sylvie. It all turned out to be a master plan on the wife's part, who was terminally ill, to ensure Dom would have someone and be happy when she was gone. What she did was a bit fked up, as Logan was straight, but she saw "sparks" or whatever between Dom and Logan during their threesome.

Knowing that, it infuriated me when Dom blatantly treated Logan like a whore a few times AFTER they were sort of together. And he then had the nerve to push away Logan, whining about how much Logan hurt him with a comment . Boo fcking hoo, Dom. What about what you did to Logan? Dom angered me to no end and I really couldn't stand how he treated Logan. But, of course, all was forgiven and Logan did the groveling instead of Dom. Give me a fcking break. 🙄

With the plot being continued from the second book, I don't feel things were explained as clearly as they could have been. Why did Logan have such terrible trust issues? It was continually mentioned how "everyone kept everything" from him but I wanted it laid out on the table for me.

Lastly, the stalker plot was incredibly OTT and eye-roll-inducing IMO. I'm not sure how I feel about this character world just yet but I will be continuing. While this book was so-so to me, it was an improvement from the first book in the series and I am hopeful that is indicative of Kennedy's writing improving with each book.

Standalone - Read series in order:
Book 1: Gabriel's Rule → 2 Stars
Book 2: Shane's Fall → did not read
Book 3: Logan's Need → 2.5 Stars

REVIEWED FOR PRISM BOOK ALLIANCE

4.75 Stars

Until a couple of days ago I had never heard of Sloane Kennedy. Scrolling through my feed on GR I noticed that a couple of people I tend to have similar reading habits to were praising a book I hadn’t come across so I took the chance and sent a request in to review it. BEST decision this week!

Logan’s Need is book 3 in The Escort Series, the first two are MF and I haven’t read them yet, and it’s completely ok to read as a stand-alone. My intention was to start with Redeeming Rafe from the Barretti Security Series but as there is a crossover and some of the characters appear in both books I went with Logan’s story first. Between the two series there are four MM books and let me tell you I didn’t come up for air for a couple of days until I had devoured them all. It has been a while since a series of books had me so invested that I barely slept!

This book gave me my first introduction to the Barretti family and what a family they are. I’m not going to go into too much detail in this review as that will come in the following books but I will say a tragic event that happened 20 years ago is still having an impact and means the brothers are not altogether.

Logan Bradshaw has been working as a high class escort whilst bringing up his younger sister. When a friend and business partner commits the ultimate betrayal Logan’s life crashes down around his ears and when you add in that his sister and friends were keeping secrets Logan is not at his best. His latest job has him meeting a married couple, something he is not entirely comfortable with, but the money is good and there are clear limits. That one night with Sylvie and Dominic Barretti will change Logan’s life and make him question everything he ever thought about himself.

Dom’s wife Sylvie is dying and she is a very astute woman. She has never doubted her husband’s love but she does believe he kept a secret. Their night together with Logan confirms this and she becomes selfless in her task of making sure her husband carries on living even if she has to do it from the grave.

So what we have is a grieving husband, an escort that has only ever dated women and an attraction between them both that is uncontrollable. Besides trying to sort out sexuality there is grief, past hurt, present hurt, a murderer that has come back from the dead and two missing brothers! There is never a dull moment in this book and it sets things up nicely for the Barretti brothers to continue telling us their story.

I loved this book. I loved how this author told the story and as I have read the other three books already I really hope there will be more to follow soon!

I found this book on goodreads and I thought "hey lets give it a chance" this is the third book in the Escort Series but it can be read as a stand alone. Though it would be better read in order because some things that happen have something to do with the second book. (I understood everything but I guess more context would have been better)

Logan is an escort. Dom is married and his wife is dying of cancer. Sylvie asks Dom to have a threesome and Dom of course says yes because it's her bucket list.
Dom hires Logan. But here's the thing: Dom has had a crush on Logan for some time now. (Some stuff that happened in book 2, it is explained)
Sylvie knows this so she only asked for the threesome to give something to Dom.
Logan feels an attraction towards Dom that he doesn't understand.

Fast forward 1 month later. Logan is still fucked up by the weird night with Sylvie and Dom.
Dom's wife just died.
After the funeral Logan receives a letter from Sylvie, she asks him to take care of Dom and tells him about Dom's fixation on him.
Logan reluctantly sees Dom and they end up fucking, Dom feels guilty and acts like a dick and this is how their weird relationship starts.

I didn't particularly loved this book, none of the characters were strong and honestly Dom was a major dick. There's a point where Logan apologizes and I never understood why, Logan was going through a lot. Until he met Dom he was "straight" he had feelings for a recent widower and he had to apologize for feeling confused? When Dom over and over again humiliates Logan for his past. He treats him like cheap fuck but Logan is in the wrong? I thought they both made mistakes but whatever.

Now, don't get me wrong, I didn't hated the book either. It was ok.
I wouldn't read it again but I don't regret reading it either.

I am curious about Dom's siblings so I am totally going to read The Barreti Series.

Overall book rating: 3.2 Stars
Audio book: N/N
Book Cover: 3.6 Stars
MC1: Logan
MC2: Dom

I loved the plot so much!!! It made me think a lot... I am such a sucker for a letter from the dead. A message from the grave - I love it!!!

The biggest reason why I stopped reading M/F books was because of the bitch attitude of ex lovers, ex girlfriend, ex wives and then... in the heart of an M/M book you get a woman who loved her husband so much. She set a chain reaction in motion to ensure he will not just exist but live.

Even though I loved the pot and there were pieces in this book that had me in tears I struggled to get a hold on Dom... I just couldn't connect with him on any level at all. Logan on the other hand was such a sweetie pie - confused and adorable guy.

4.5 stars for this one. I really enjoyed this book and it was a close 5 but the big issue in finding the killer was resolved just a bit too quickly for me - there was a real build up and then a quick resolution. The heat between Logan & Dom however was smokin ! They both battled deep issues but managed to overcome those together. Really loved these guys ❤️

M/M Danielle Steele with drama llamas.

I tried, but I can't suspend reality enough to go with this. The characters' emotional states require pharmaceutical assistance, which isn't happening, tongue in cheek, but there are characters that require medical attention and they're not getting it. All over the map like yo-yos.
