This is a quick read about Eden (21), a prince who left his world Daraya to enjoy 3 days of freedom in the mortal world before getting married to an arranged husband and ruling the kingdom. He shows up at David's cabin. David (29) is a writer who likes to be secluded in the cabin and alone, until Eden shows up at his door asking him if he can stay for 3 days.
I really liked the story that I wished it was longer. I was very much engaged in the progression of their relationship, which felt very natural despite being fast. And yes, they do connect and fall in love in 3 days😂 but honestly I didn't mind it at all.
I liked their playful banter. I liked how David shows Eden freedom not realizing that Eden is showing him what freedom is as well. The spice is there, in a minimal but intimate way that further showed their connection. Their reunion scene is so heartwarming🥹
Again, I wish it was a full length novel as I really liked Eden & David and wanted more of their story.
"If I could leave," Eden said, and his voice dropped to almost nothing, "you would be the only reason."
"You knocked on my door in the rain," David said. "You stood on my porch and told me it was raining as though I had personally caused it and needed to be informed. You wore my clothes and stole my hoodie and lost dramatically at every video game and made the worst possible argument for a puzzle piece fitting where it absolutely did not fit." His smile arrived, slow and helpless and entirely genuine. "And somewhere in the middle of all of that, in seventy-two hours, I felt more like myself than I had in years. You made me dance. You made me laugh until it hurt. You made doing absolutely nothing feel like the best possible use of a life."
