I'm giving this book 3 stars because I like the author and the premise of the story is good. What I didn't like was that to me it was written in a way to be like poetry. Even some of Lennox and Lane's conversations gave off that vibe. I loved Concrete and Cadence but this book just didn't vibe with me as much, although, I will admit that I did shed some tears throughout because the story does touch the heart.

I’m so likening Stonebridge
I’m locked in to Stonebridge this is a great story I’m really feeling how the author has me locked into this universe and the people in it.. The characters are great and you can find yourself in them definitely recommend the read

Thank you to the author for the advance copy of this book! Lane and Lennox's banter was top tier. Although, once they got together he seemed to soften too much and then the banter seemed to be one sided with him retreating to ensure he got her.
The prologue of Lane's relationship with her mom, had me wanting to jump through the pages and beat her down for such bad parenting. In spite of, Lane still rose through the concrete and survived. Taking that survival and creating The Full Plate Project. Lennox had to learn not to overstep boundaries given his profession and wanting Lane showed that he could do that.
This is book two in the series and I will go back and read it as there were many references that I believe play some parts in this books flow. I'm also excited as the lead in to book three and how that will turn out has piqued my interest as well.

Lennox and Lane trade jabs and poetic bars back and forth as they learn how to love and be loved. Their stories, laden with hurt, pain, and disappointment, created two people with lots of walls and barriers dressed up as humor and strength. Their strong chemistry and attraction draw them to one another and forces them to figure it all out.
Lennox has lived in the shadows of his father's legacy, while hating everything his father represents and vowing to be nothing like him. Lane has lived in the grief and pain of being abandoned by her mother and ensuring that she's never in a position to need another person again. Lennox has to teach Lane that there's strength in softness. Lane has to give Lennox the space to love and be loved.
The poetic writing style of this story allows the reader to really lean into the push and pull of Lane and Lennox's dynamic. A lot of quick-witted, sharp-tongued banter and jokes. They almost developed their own shorthand, coded language. Their date was obvious from the start, we just had to watch them (painfully at times) catch up to the inevitable. I appreciated their growth and development outside of building their relationship. It provided depth and layers to the characters, making it more than a love story. I was happy to have the whole crew from Concrete and Cadence playing a significant role in their story and not just giving cameos.
Overall, I enjoyed this story, I connected with Lennox and Lane and found myself rooting for them. I recommend this for readers that enjoy a journey to the HEA and readers that can ride out the rollercoaster of growth and healing. Lane is worth the effort, I promise.

Lane didn’t have a great childhood at all, she spent it rescuing and saving herself. Lennox spent his childhood dealing with a parent who used power as a means of love.
The both of them taught each other something. Lane teaching Lennox tenderness and that it was okay to let that hard exterior go and be able to love. Lennox teaching Lane that yes,she could do things on her own but now she had a soft place to land and rest with him and she didn’t have to prove why she needed it.
I loved the banter between the two characters, the quick witted responses they gave each other, him crashing her date, her leaving his car all around the city 😂😂. I also loved how Lennox loved on Lane, even when he didn’t realize it and how Lane accepted it even when she tried to give him a hard time 😂.
Overall, I enjoyed this book, the couple and how they allowed each other to love one another 💜.

This One Gave Me All The Feels ❤️
I read this book as an ARC reader, and CM Barnes delivered a story that felt like healing in motion. This was truly a journey of love, growth, and passion. I appreciated how she wove real‑life experiences into Lane’s story — it gave me the chance to feel even closer to her, to understand her walls, and to celebrate every moment she let herself soften.
Lennox was everything. His willingness to do whatever it took to break down those impenetrable walls made their connection feel powerful and earned. This book made me cry, it made me laugh, and it made me reflect in ways I didn’t expect. And the poems? Absolutely stunning — they added so much beauty and emotional depth to the story.
Overall, this book was amazing, and I loved watching these characters fight for and finally receive their HEA. I can’t wait to see what’s next from Stonebridge. 💜📖

I finished reading this book a couple of days ago and took time to digest the parts that spoke to me. It kind of made me understand why a dude who supposedly had so much love for you would run. But unlike Lane, I never let them come back. I guess that is a defensive mechanism firmly built into me. This book also reaffirmed within me that if a man really wants you, he can and will be intentional with anything and everything he does that concerns you. I find myself identifying with Lane, but I am no longer looking for a soft place to land. That want has been beaten out of me BUT I do hope that many of you will find your place under the sun

The chemistry and banter between Lennox and Lane was bound to turn into something more. I enjoyed the character and relationship development of these two. Lane can come off a bit annoyed and difficult but when you really look at her history we got to really see why she was how she was and i did truly feel for her. Lennox was so patient and persistent with Lane and really helped her grow. I did enjoy the trip to Winston Hills and city being tied into the story. That trip was a game changer for sure. This book held so much pain and trauma but also triumph and healing. I really enjoyed Lennon Lane

Took a little trip to Stonebridge to get a view at the story of Lennox Lane! This has been an anticipated read and will say it will not disappoint. Lennox Lane by C.M. Barnes is a slow burn, enemies-to-lovers story that results in a found family. We look into the lives of Lane Sanders and Lennox Jackson, two people hell bent on staying close but still apart at the same time. The banter between this two will have you kicking your feet and swooning the entire time! To have such powerhouse personalities find love within each other was a great journey and one I hope everyone that reads it will feel the same too.

I loved being back in Stonebridge! Lennox's and Lane's love story was equal parts, traumatic, hilarious, petty, and sexy. Although there were some heavy topics discussed when learning their back stories, Lennox and Lane were a lot fun to read. I loved their chemistry and their petty banter stole the show for me. I can't wait to return for the next installment.
One minor hiccup and was when the POV flip flopped between third and first person in the first couple of chapters which was a bit confusing, but overall this was a great read!

“Survival checks for cracks before it checks for grace.” What's understood doesn't need to be said. Lane had a hard time being loved. Lennox didn't want to be a repeat of his father. Both parties had to work through so much before they could trust each other fully and love each other the way they knew how. The writing was grown, excellent, and every time the pen hit the paper, you felt the emotions: hurt, pain, forgiveness, love, and the willingness to try again. So good.

CM Barnes Never Misses!
This has become one of my favorite authors. From the enigma series, and now this series she gets it right every single time. I love the emotional connection. She builds with the characters and the maturity of the characters, which is refreshing even when they do something crazy it still doesn’t feel childish a little petulant, but given the circumstances, we can understand. This is a must read if you have not read the first book, I would say go back and read that because the characters are connected similar to her other series. I can’t wait for book 3.

This was a slow burn with worth the burn. Although Lane got on my last nerve with that slick mouth and I got it was defense mechanisms it got to be annoying. I needed more on a couple of things especially " Th Council" a quick history lesson and it would have been nice to have actually hear some of the filthy things Lennox said to Lane.. Although several parts were choppy to me I definitely had some emotions come up that I was not expecting while reading their story. The editing for sure needs to be checked closer on the next story, I can't wait for Nova and Tariq's story.

September 12, 2026If you know me you know my distaste for Enigma. So I steer clear of this author. However my bookish friends suggested I read Concrete and Cadence which I didn’t particularly enjoy, so I wasn’t going to read this installment in the Stonebridge series…but they insisted so I obliged and I did enjoy it. Both Lennox and Lane opened up and blossomed in love, healing and forgiveness. It was way better than C and C. I’d continue with this series for sure but you can’t pay me to read anything Winston Hills related!

Lennox & Lane are perfect for each other. Their love is one that is true, tried and beautiful. C.M Barnes always finds the grace her characters need to heal with dignity. And she knows she can write the hell out of some filthy, nasty, spicy scenes.

Every women needs a Lennox Jackson
Lennox Jackson was a scared man who grew up and turned into a man that is patient, caring, loving, a provider and anything a woman needs or wants in a man! This books made me cry so many times! It was such a good read! I loved Cadence and Concrete but I think Lennox and Lane might top this. The love Ms Barnes writes about in this series is something I hope to have one day!

I loved the banter between the characters and really enjoyed watching their growth throughout the story. I’m a fan of your work and always enjoy your books. My only criticism is that this one had a few too many typos and editing errors, which was surprising because that hasn’t been my experience with your previous books. Aside from that, I really enjoyed the story! Now on to Nova & Tariq!!!

YESSSS!!! This book was GOOD! I appreciate how the characters were depicted as far as the walls we tend to put up after dealing with traumatic experiences and allowing healing to take place where love can blossom in its own way. This was such a beautiful and relatable read. Can't wait to see what happens with Tariq and Nova too!

I really enjoyed reading about Lennox and Lane. They both had childhood issues and struggles and Lane used poetry as an outlet and Lennox use his cyber security as his way of helping and throughout the book I feel like they taught eachother different things they needed and learned how to lean on and be soft with eachother.

The banter was cute between Lennox & Lane, she always had a comeback for what Lennox had to say. Lane suffered a lot growing up, she didn’t deserve any of it at the hands of her mother. Lennox didn’t want to be like his father. Together these two learned to be soft and vulnerable with each other while not losing who they are. I enjoyed reading this.

I knew I’d love Lennox & Lane…(Robot & Lavender)! I didn’t know I’d fall in love with their stories! Whew! This book felt like love & healing. It felt like protection & care. There was so much character development! I enjoyed their banter. This story came full circle & then ended on a BANG!!! So excited for this release!

I enjoyed Lennox and Lane story. Lane has many layers to her story. She is a strong woman and is use to handle everything on her own. Going through her journey to let her walls down to Lennox was well written. At first I did not like Lennox but reading his journey he is exactly what Lane needs. The poetry in this book was the icing on the cake. Thank you C.M. Barnes

This book was everything and I really enjoyed reading it. The spice is good , but Lennox and Lane is so much more. This book is about healing, forgiveness, and learning to trust enough to be loved. Get a glass of wine and a box of tissues because this book will take you through every emotion!

Second chances?
As someone who doesn't mess with second chances, this one worked for me. The banter was wonderful, the pranks were hilarious. It's the love story that makes this one special though. Definitely enjoyed.

I really enjoyed this and even got emotional however the conversations between Lennox and lane were so quippy and one liner central it got annoying quick. We get a 3rd person recount of conversations they have which is fine but the actual conversation we get are either rehashing of one liners so just one liners. And KC acting the way he was confused me because he did the same thing to Cadence so I was very confused. But the book was still good.
