I love the Quad down, but E. Bowser...baby, you are doing too damn much. 😂 When I open a book and need a whole “Books In Series Order” diagram to figure out what I need to read and where, we've officially entered case management database territory. There are so many characters, relationships and storylines crossing between books that at one point I had completely forgotten Link even had a twin sister named Deja. Like ma'am...I READ A LOT OF BOOKS. I cannot keep all these people and their family trees stored in my brain indefinitely. 😂
And then some of the additional stories/content are over on Patreon?! That's where you lose me. I don't mind bonus content being behind a subscription, but please don't make me feel like I need homework, a flowchart and another subscription to fully keep up with a fictional universe. With that being said, I still love Faxx, Crescent and the Quad in general. I enjoyed seeing more of their everyday lives and relationships outside of all the craziness, and there were definitely some developments in this one that kept me locked in. But THAT cliffhanger?! 😒 Now I have to wait for Book 3 while simultaneously trying to remember 47 people, who's related to who, who tried to kill who and what happened three books ago. 😂
Still a really good read and I'm absolutely coming back for Book 3 because I'm invested in these damn people. But I'm taking a star for the mental labor alone. 😂
The suspense is still delivering but that cliffhanger...
We learn so much more about Deja, Emily Newton and Julius, as well as why Evangeline wants Crescent so badly and why Crescent and Dylan are so important to opening the vaults. And the connection between Evangeline and Crescent? You did NOT see that coming.
I also loved seeing more vulnerability from the men of the Quad. It added another layer to their characters without taking away from the intensity of the story.
As always with E. Bowser, the suspense is on point and the story keeps giving us new pieces of the puzzle. Every time one question is answered, another one appears.
But that ending… seriously? 😂
There will be a Part 3, and at this point I’m officially waiting until the whole story is finished before reading it. I can’t do another to be continued and then sit around wondering what happens next. I need the ending!
We're back centering on my favorite UCK couple, Faxx and Cent. I love seeing the couple in day to day life beyond the Quad. The book picks up where Book 1 left off. We see Faxx and Sandstorm dare anyone put Cent in harm's way. We also see Henny begin to stand up. But what stands out the most is Faxx being vulnerable; it made me understand him and his moves more. We get introduced to new characters which will make for a wild Book 3.
I don't know why I keep letting these characters raise my blood pressure like they do. Why oh why does that bish Deja love playing with her life like that. And Evangeline ain't no better. If you don't know anything else about U.C.K. you should know they DO NOT play about their kids and women. All I'm gonna do now is sit back and wait to see who gets taken care of first. So ready for book 3.
With each book I love the evolution of the quad. I love the emotional connections that are be shown(I believe they were always there). I love Cece speaking her mind. Now did this book leave me with some questions, yes, yes it did. But I have all the faith that they will be answered in the upcoming books.
E.Browser continues to develop this series and the characters are not boring me yet... I love the quad dynamic and the complexity of the characters' personalities. When can I expect 3?
