“A man like me takes what he wants when he wants it.”
Lacey wanted to find a sexy and irresistible man. Only, she never thought she’d meet someone like Henry James. Henry James had a wicked smile and dazzling eyes. He was arrogant, handsome, teasing, and the sexiest man she’d ever seen in her life.
The only problem was Henry James was everything she wasn’t looking for in a man. He was too handsome. Too rich. Too alpha. He was the sort of man that could have Lacey doing what he wanted without her even knowing. He was the sort of man that had her doing things she never thought she’d do.
Plain and simple, Henry James was trouble and Lacey wanted nothing to do with him. However, Henry had other plans and the first of which was to get Lacey into his bed.
Falling For the Billionaire is a hot sexy standalone book. Readers should be 18 and over due to mature content.
God I am not even sure why I tried to finish this book. I am sorry to have to be so blunt but there is really nothing about the book that I liked. I must be a glutton for punishment - same like the female lead. The male lead is just annoying me from beginning to end and the fact that you do not hear anythig from his pov during the story (only at the end) does not help his case - you just feel pissed off by him constantly. With no redeeming qualities at all. The female leads best friend is even more annoying than both leads togehter ..... because she does not have an oppinion at all - she is constantly changing her mind within secondes ... "stay away from him" - half a page later "go for it" ... sorry but that is not the way to go. Gosh this complete story feels like a waste of time .... so so sorry but this is my very honest oppinion
Though I've read the previous books in this series, I found this one disappointing. I enjoyed the book, even when Henry treated Lacey like crap, but to have him wreck her and then wind it up with a three page epiphany? Like I said, diappointing!
Ok full disclosure: I didn't like Henry. At all. He was just too much of a playboy for me. Normally I might not like the male in the beginning but then he has redeeming qualities. Henry was just too unfeeling for my personal taste.
I did like Lacey! I was proud of Lacey for holding out on Henry. And having the strength to say enough.
I’m hoping there might be an epilogue or novella featuring them and how Henry might adjust to domestic life.
Out of all of the books I’ve read I have to say this is the bottom on my list. I like where the author was going but I feel like she should have put a little more strength in Lacey. I also think there should have been more story for her to fall in love. She slept with him once and was instantly in love, it felt rushed to me.
I didn't like this book much...By reading ' The night with Billionaire' I was really looking forward to read this but, it was no at all intresting..I literally skimmed pages..I didn't like both Henry & Lacey.
Read on Radish. Least favorite of all because Henry changes in the story, timelines don’t add up, and it feels drawn out and abruptly ended. Henry and Lacey had so much more potential.
WTF did I just read... I am so disappointed and that was a waste of time! This is my first book review and it's probably not proper or anything but I need to rant so badly because I truly did not enjoy this book.! I love romance novels and especially the One Night Stand series by J.S and Helen Cooper, but wow I was so let down by this one. The book started very well, but I think the authors just started rushing and filling the pages with sappy lovey shit just to finish the book.
After flying through the other books in the series, this book was so excruciating to read. Both of the characters were horrible, especially Lacey because even though she had good morals and self respect she always fell for him despite all the wrong signs. Poor Eliza was probably sick of hearing Lacey complain and whine about Henry! The book started out pretty great, but 75% of the book was Henry being an asshole, Lacey crying over Henry being an asshole, Lacey complaining about how she loves him but he doesn't love her to Eliza, and poor Jake was just thrown in there for nothing. He seemed like such a great guy and I hope he gets his own book, because Lacey was a total bitch to him knowing damn well she loved Henry.
The whole Claudia crap was stupid and rushed but to top it all off the book had a horrible ending. After a whirlwind "relationship" ( which was quoted in the book so many damn times to drive the point home that they were not in a real "relationship" ), which if I recall correctly only lasted 4 short months or so, Henry comes to his senses and confesses his love to Lacey in a shitty overdone speech in the last few pages of the book, where of course Lacey forgives him and they fall madly and love and live happily ever after. WTF! The ending was so abrupt and hasty that I didn't feel any love in his words and their relationship at the point was dead to me.
Being a fan of Chick lit and romance, I am not expecting William Faulkner or Truman Capote literature but this book was below all my standards. PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME WITH YOUR NEXT BOOKS JS AND HELEN COOPER! I will still read your future books because I am hoping this was just a poor fluke and you guys felt rushed to produce a shitty story for your readers. I am willing to wait, but please make it worth my time! With that being said, I feel Jake needs to be redeemed and given a proper relationship and he should be the next One night Stand adventure!
Okay well my rant is over! I feel better getting that off my chest and I really hope I never have to do this again HAHA!
I'm so bummed. I've been waiting for this book to come out. I didn't care for it. I enjoyed that sexy/funny banter between the two but sometimes Henry James would become cruel at times. Henry James doesn't do relationships or monogamy. One of his rules is to not fall in love with him. After a few weeks Lacey gives in and sleeps with Henry James. That same evening she over hears him talking to a woman named Claudia. Lacey leaves and the next day stalks his meet up with Claudia. She overhears them and gets crushed by what she learns. You'd think okay she's done with Henry's two timing ass. No! Another thing I did not like her striking up a friendly convo with Jake at Henry's office. She's about to maybe give him her number when Henry arrives. Henry takes her to his office and they have sex. She leaves and goes help Jake set things up and gives her his number. No!! You just had sex with someone plus you have feelings for that someone-- why lead Jake on like you feel Henry is leading you on. Plus she never brought up Claudia so in my opinion she's the OW and seems to not mind that much. When she's at Henry's Claudia shows up and Lacey leaves. Lacey is finally done at this point and wants nothing to do with Henry because he will never love her. It gets complex because we don't know Henry's POV until the last chapter or so. Henry's pov picks up too on this after Lacey finally leaves him. In my mind I don't think he was seeing anyone else but acts as if he may or may not have "dates" with women. You do find out his connection to Claudia. I feel she forgave him entirely to soon. Another thing in this book that upset me was her forgiving Eliza for sleeping with Stephen years ago. She was so upset after finding out. Then they are friendly again once they returned home without giving us a talk or discussion between the two working out what happened. Why bring it up? I actually forgot about that since Eliza's book was so long ago.

This book was all over the place! Not only was there problems with the story between book four and five but through out the whole series there was a timeline veriation. That's a big turn off for me while reading a series!! Also, as a series this one was not as cohesive as I think it should (and could) have been!! It wasn't tied together close enough considering that characters did have interaction with each from the other books!
With all that being said, this particular book was just bad!! I mean I liked the other books well enough and so I continued to read them....it wasn't until book four that things started getting loose in the story line! And then, the story itself in book five was just bad! These characters were under developed and their story was weak! It's like it tried to give an illusion of a great story but it left you an empty feeling!
I think the main problem came from the dialogue between the female and male lead. It was childish and repetitive, it lacked any real moments of truth and it never seemed to capture or convey the right emotions that should have been displayed by the characters.... especially by the male lead!
Lastly, small plots points were brought up throughout this whole series and then never followed up on!! It became annoying as time went on! If you read the series you'll see what I mean but be warned you might be pissed you wasted your time by the time you get the last book!! Especially since you have to buy book three (even if your a Kindle unlimited subscriber).
I was provided a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.
I have to say that I love this book this is so far my favorite book. I couldn't put the book the down I wanted to read more. I have to say that their is some part of the book that got me mad but I still love it. I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.
The story begging with Lacey she is writer and she leave with her best friend. since she leave with her friend an not paying for anything she decide to take a job as a waitress for one night, but what she was not expecting was to find the sexy hunk of the Billionaire Henry James. she couldn't believe that it was his house that she was working at. After she had an encounter with Henry she couldn't get him out of her head. Henry couldn't believe the feeling that he was having for Lacey and he knew that he wanted her, an Henry always get what he want. until three weeks later he makes her a request the question is if she will be able to handle him. but what he was not expecting was for their feelings to get in the way.
I really love the way how Lacey and Henry are with each other I love it how he always makes her blush. and love it how she always talk right back to him.
I really love and enjoy reading this book. Author J.S. Cooper thank you for letting me read and review this amazing awesome book and for introducing me to this awesome characters love them.
Was werden beide tun? Was wenn die Gefühle am Ende doch zustande kommen? Warum will Henry keine Beziehung? Was ich früher passiert?
Oh god I don't have enough words to review this book. This is my first book review ever and I just wanna say I didn't like this book at all. I didn't even wanna give 1 star. The portrayal of characters is so demeaning, like seriously? The character lacey had no self respect or whatsoever for most of the novel and then she expected respect from henry. Henry was such a bad character i mean how can you be so cruel and heartless for the whole book and then in the last chapter suddenly he's in love with lacey seriously? And the worst part about the novel is the author can't even continue her story. In the pervious part when lacey got to know about eliza's betrayal according to eliza she didn't come home for 2 weeks to which scott said she had gone with henry somewhere and then eliza was so sad because she hadn't forgiven her and hadn't been home to even gather her things and then suddenly in lacey's story after finding out about eliza lacey has forgiven her in the story and not only that henry and lacey hadn't gone anywhere and in just 1 week lacey forgave eliza and was asking for advice.. please just c'mon. I just didn't stop reading in between because i don't like leaving a book half read otherwise this book is a total waste of time, money and energy.
I am giving it 2 stars I was going to do 1 but raised she meets him 1 time and she never hardly talk to him and is in love ok. And would you really have sex with a guy who says I will never love you so don't fall for me just sex you really lower you self to sex with him because u love him. And Good god the min Henry rings or calls you go flying to him . You think he has a girlfriend but yet you still have sex with him and in his office too. Wow. Boy don't think much of yourself. Lacey always did what Henry wanted he treats her like crap and her constant Henry this Henry that Liza should of committed her she was way beyond control over henry. And what about the book she was writing and talking about nothing was talked how that story turned that the reason she said she was with henry the book so what happened with book , and 3 pages at the end oh I love you will you marry me 2 months wow he changed he mind fast . Not a good story wish I never read it honestly. I don't mind waiting at all but for this no thank you. I always like her books this book just did not have anything
So i will start off with I was really looking forward to Henry and Lacey because I really loved the previous books. I was looking forward to a hot billionaire with some control issues falling in love with the nice girl looking for love and finding it in a bad boy turned devoted partner. Having said that, I was really disappointed in this book. The entire book was about Henry being a total jerk and Lacey letting him treat her like crap while she constantly ask why she is unlovable and her whining about what is wrong with her that he can't love her. This was the entire book up until the 3 pages at the end where Henry explains his behavior and confesses his love. It seems like we waited forever for this story and I'm afraid to say it was a total let down. I have never given a bad review on a book before, but I was really excited for this book and it was just not good.
What an emotional book. J.S. Cooper does a fabulous job of emoting the heartaches that one goes through when falling in love. Lacey is attracted to Henry and lets just say it is mutual. Henry wants to show her pleasure with no commitment. Lacey is a girl who pretty much where's her heart on her sleeve and has had heartache before. Though her mind tells her this is a bad idea, her heart and her attraction won't let her say no. Jaimie's writing takes you through all the emotions, the joy of love, the yearning for it to be reciprocated, the feeling of not being good enough and feeling unlovable. Everyone goes through this in their life and you truly feel these with Lacey. With highly sexual tension between them and ultimately steamy love scenes, you will not want to put this down.
First let me say that I usually love books by these authors. But it was like someone else wrote this book. It was horrible. I'm still stunned that J.S. and Helen Cooper wrote this book. The heroine is a weak minded fool. Henry, the hero, is a rude arrogant jerk who treated, Lacey, the heroine like crap and she was dumb enough to keep going back. The writing was so poor. The same expressions were used over and over again. Everyone in this book winked about every time they looked at the other one. They used Haha before almost every sentence. Very disappointed. I hope their next book is more like their books I've read in the past. I wish I could get my money back!
Love the story, Lacey and Henry connection was very intense.!! I would love to see more of Henry's POV though, to understand why he was so hard against the idea of falling in love and Lacey was so dependent on Henry, I like it when the females characters in the books are strong and beautiful that make the book great.!! The banter between them, the steamy part is very interesting. Love the end because the beginning is hard to read , because they way he treats her, he was so cruel and cold and she was so emotional. Great book, great authors, well done for these series.!!
I don’t ever post reviews about books but this book I needed to. It was horrible. The entire book kept repeating the same situations. The author didn’t dive into any of the character’s professions, I have no idea what happened with Lacey and her ex, one minute Lacey’s a virgin and the next she’s not even before having sex with Henry. I kept throwing my hands up in confusion when I would read the same thing just 20 pages later. The whole book felt rushed and not important. The other books in the series were great but this one should’ve have a different outcome. I actually would’ve liked Lacey with Jake at the end as a twist.
Ok so I know we had to wait a bit for this book. But sometimes the characters don't come to you and I'm glad Jaimie didn't just write a story to keep her fans happy. I thought Henry and Lacey's story was fantastic!! I really wanted to punch Henry in the face a few times for Lacey lol. Lacey was so back-and-forth I want to shake her senseless. That's real life sometimes, you know! This book had a bit of everything some heartache, some steam, alpha maleness, everything we expect from a JS Cooper book. I really enjoyed this book and I think you will too if you give it a chance. Arc generously provided by author for honest review
Yes, we had a long wait for this one, but I believe it was worth it. Henry wanted Lacey with no strings attached, he made it clear that he didn't do relationships. Lacey should have realized that she wasn't cut out for this type of agreement, it really affected her self-worth. When Lacey finally realized Henry didn't love her, she stood her ground. Sometimes the man just needs to open his eyes and realize that love isn't always a bad thing, but sometimes it's too late. Was it too late for Henry and Lacey? You'll need to read it!
Waited a life time for this story. Not what I thought it would be since both Henry and Lacey had bubbly personalities in previous stories .I thought Lacey still had her VCard. Romantic scenes just did not do justice to Henry. Yes, Henry had dark inclinations in previous stories, but not as dark as I thought. I found Lacey repetitive and explaining consistently why..why..why..why...why. I loved the storyline but still felt it was hard to read.
I really tried to like this book. With each scroll up on my phone, I kept telling myself it has to get better than Falling for My Boss. But slowly and painfully found out it was really no better.
This is Lacey’s first sexual experience with Henry. I could almost understand Lacey only because Henry was her first everything. But a big BUT. Did the pig notice or care? Not even. He jumps out of bed and when she questions and when she questions where he’s going, he says to dispose of the condom. The next thing she hears is the shower running.
Now granted they had rules, before going to bed with each other. 1.) NO relationship, no falling in love, 2.) NO set rules in bed, 3.) NO questioning the other of what they are doing. They ARE NOT DATING. Basically, NO FALLING IN LOVE, No Dating Others, and No getting jealous of the others dating life. Really, he could go on but mainly all on his terms. Yet, she agreed.
Mainly just sex. When he saw her talking to other men the alpha male BS would start. In her head, she would say this is BS and react as such. Later on, she would talk herself into believing he was starting to love her.
One thing she couldn’t forget was that first night as he went into the bathroom and he showered making her feel cheap and like a whore. Washing her scent away from him. She had walked up to the door that night thinking she could be bold and get in the shower with him. Only to stop when she heard him talking yes, talking to another woman on the phone, Claudia.
She heard him say he had proposed to her for a reason. So, now she believed he was engaged or had been. She knew he was to meet her at a dive coffee shop. Which she goes to and spies on them because she had to know. Once she did, she still wanted him. She was hooked.
The same girl that was pissed off at her friend at the beginning of the book because she slept with her ex-in college. Yet, she’s willing to continue having loveless foreplay and sex with a man who has an emotional girlfriend if not a physical relationship with her still. He was also the same man so self-absorbed he never noticed he took her V-card. Yeah, ladies stand in line he’s taking numbers. What!?
This was one crazy ass book! 2 stars and only 2 because 1 she turned him away finally telling him off and 1 for him figuring out his mistakes and going to her to make amends. Telling her he got Claudia help, that he was in love with her, Lacey. Then asking her to marry him. I think they both need therapy I think first. Bought on Amazon.
This book was not for me. I don’t usually mind insta-love stories, they’re not great, but I understand that these shorter books need to get moving. But this, this was something else. Lacey was obsessed. It was disconcerting. She was self aware enough to know it was unhealthy, but rarely tried to stop herself. The melodrama! I thought it was just her, because she was a writer & prone to excessive verbiage. But, when we get Henry’s point of view it’s just as bad. It was a hard book to like.
"Falling for the Billionaire" (One Night Stand Book 5) by J.S. Cooper and Helen Cooper is a good read. I'd been looking forward to this story. I enjoyed parts of Lacey and Henry's story but was disappointed with others. This story has drama, passion, twists and turns, billionaires, and more. I wish there had been more romance, passion, humor, love, and less of the drama. I did enjoy getting to catch up a little with the other characters from the One Night Stand Series. Recommend to fans of drama, billionaires, and series.
Absolutely did not care for this at all. I don't care about the next book or books. This author is no longer on my book shelf. Total cliff hanger. I struggled through so did speed reading to get to the gist if the mysterious phone calls w TJ's dad. He traps Mila then bam book done. Oh and the book review included isn't even the people in the book. This book has Mila and her brother. And their best friends TJ and Sally.
OK so I have read a lot of books by J. S. Cooper and I have loved them. But this one else I couldn't stand. The main female character was too dependant of the male character and she had no respect for herself. I didn't really want to finish this book because lacey was a very annoying character. I will hopefully find a better book by J. S. Cooper to read. Not very happy that I spent money on this book.
I honestly didn't want to write this review. I absolutely adore J.S. Coroner's stories but this one just was shockingly unlike her. It was all over the place. It just didn't make sense to me. I feltlike the story jumped from here to there. The inner dialogue of he main character was so whiny and I just couldn't take it. Neither character was likeable, especially the male lead. He had no redeemable characteristics. I voluntarily received a copy for my honest review.
Omg.. the inner dialogue killed me. This book was filled with so much inner dialogue that I still don't know why I continued reading it. I'm so disappointed in this book, I mean don't get me wrong all the other books in the series weren't great either, but I enjoyed them. But this takes the cake though, it was too repetitive. Over and over about how she's done, then back at it again. This book could have been so much better, but sadly it just wasn't.
First, I felt the dialogue was a little high schoolish so it was hard for me to relate to Lacey or Henry. A little surprising since he's a billionaire with his own company and several investments. And the ending left me saying "what just happened?' That man needed prove himself. Date and build the trust before she jumps into anything with him. I felt blah at the end.
