They say it takes two to tango—but when you're dancing with death, one wrong step can bring everything crashing down. Medical researcher Piper Phillips is finally ready to take her treatment for a rare genetic disease into FDA trials—the same disease that killed her father and is now tightening its grip on her. Her discovery could save lives. But now, ruthless forces will stop at nothing to seize the formula—and the woman who holds the key. Retired Air Force special-operator Ethan Osbourne—call sign Wiz—is the one man Piper wants at her side—and the one she refuses to hide behind. Trusting him with her life is easy. Trusting him with her heart is a far riskier experiment. While Ethan’s K9, Tango, trains for certification at Cerberus Tactical K9, Ethan works close-protection contracts in D.C. Piper isn’t his assignment. She’s the woman who makes him want a future—and the person he can’t afford to lose. As the clock ticks down and her enemies close in, Piper and Ethan must navigate a minefield of betrayal. In a world of corporate greed and tactical violence, one wrong move could cost Piper her life—and the world a miracle cure. TANGO is an action-packed military romantic suspense featuring elite operators, a brilliant STEM heroine, and a loyal K9. Expect high-stakes danger, fierce attraction, and a romance that simmers with tension but keeps the bedroom door closed. Join the Iniquus family as Tango dances with the enemy—here, loyalty is absolute, and no one fights alone.

This is the second book in this series; I read and loved the first book in the series also, but this book can totally stand alone. I love how almost all of this author’s books interconnect and have some characters that we know from other books. This book was different from some of the others, but equally interesting and compelling—this was one of my favorite books from this author. The main characters are likable, strong, and smart, and I love a slow-building romance. I always look forward to this author’s books and recommend this one and her other ones. I was provided an ARC, which I appreciate, but these opinions are my own.
Ethan and Tango are a great K9 team. Although they aren't Iniquus employees Tango is Cerberus trained and Ethan is former special ops. So when Ethan accepts a job for personal protection, little does he know the unique and amazing mission that will evolve. Dr. Piper Phillips has been working to complete her late father's work. The work that will help with a rare and deadly disease. But there's a lot to her work that other people see as their financial salvation. The terms become deadly quickly. Fortunately for Piper, Ethan and Tango are on her side. Although the bad guys here seem a bit more Keystone Cops than deadly, they still churn up enough issues to make things dangerous for all affected by their machinations. But good wins out in the areas that count and this book brings it all together in the end. Once again, well done Ms. Quinn.
There are a variety of interesting things about the Cerberus Certified stories. Following the ongoing threads about what happens after folks have done with active duty is one of them.
I also really enjoy the wide variety and colorful histories and lives of the women. They're scientists, white hats, nurses, and intriguing ladies with intense backgrounds, even when they are not always former military.
And Tango herself is a rocket fueled working dog with drive and strong bonds who really seems to enjoy her work and her people connections.
intense drama, action, and a bit of closed door romance that leaves me wanting more adventures, and excited for the next book.
Piper was a wonderful character as was Ethan and his K9 Tango. Lots of situations and action. Piper works in a lab and that's when it appears they want her formula. Pipers friend Chanti was also a great character along with previous characters. Loved it!
As usual I loved Ms Quinn’s work. I just wish it had been longer. There was a big gap from the “hero come to the rescue” scene to the HEO ending. I was hoping for finding out HOW everything was figured out and wrapped up.
this book was awesome I fell in love with Tango and enjoyed reading all of her antics in the story
This was a well written story that will grab your attention and keep you turning the page to see what's going to happen next
I highly recommend checking out this book and the whole inquuis world
Ps I'm loving all the books featuring dogs and their handlers in the inquuis world Fiona Quinn has a way of giving each dog a unique fun personality of their very own that compliments their handlers
