Kristy Cambron is a USA TODAY bestselling author who writes from the space where beauty, art, and history intersect. She's an award-winning author of historical fiction, including her internationally bestselling novels, THE BUTTERFLY AND THE VIOLIN and THE PARIS DRESSMAKER, as well as nonfiction titles. Her work has been named to Cosmopolitan's Best Historical Fiction Novels, Library Journal’s Best Books, and has been featured at People Magazine, Once Upon a Book Club Box, Frolic, Book Club Girl, BookBub, and Country Woman magazine.

Her new novel, THE FRENCH KITCHEN, is available now -- in which an ex-pat wife haunted by her experiences as an undercover agent in the American OSS during WWII crosses paths with chef Julia Child in a post-war Paris cookery class, complicating the carefully constructed high-society world she’s built to hide her past.

Kristy holds a degree in art history/research writing and spent fifteen years in education and leadership development for a Fortune 100 corporation, partnering with such companies as the Disney Institute, IBM/Kenexa, and Gallup, before stepping away to pursue her passion for storytelling. She's also served as Vice President and a literary agent with Gardner Literary.

Kristy lives in Indiana with her husband and three basketball-loving sons, where she can probably be bribed with a peppermint mocha latte and a good read.

I didn't know about the orchestra at Auschwitz. It is a compelling story and piece of history. I wish the writing was stronger. Heavy Christian themes sometimes seemed forced into the story, rather than flowing naturally in the story.

These two books will change your heart. They are that good. Even though I bought them as ebooks, I will still put them on my virtual "Keepers" shelf. I am not a reviewer, so if you need an actual review to get you interested, you will find plenty of raves here on Goodreads and also on Amazon. But, really, you should just take my word, read 'em.

It was somewhat far fetched that a father would allow what happened to his daughter to happen. That seemed contrived to me. It was all wrapped up in a neat package and that diminished the book for me. Not realistic.

Told in two parts- the “current” timeline is an art historian is in search of a famous painting- featuring a violinist in the Auschwitz’s orchestra. The second part goes back in time and tells the story of Adele- the woman featured in the painting. Overall a well crafted story but I felt sort of like the story line of connecting the past and present through a piece of art had been done before. 3 stars simply because nothing special pops out in my mind about this book. I chose it after it was mentioned in an article about historical fiction you might have missed. I do agree with others- wasn’t aware that the camps had orchestras and do that was enlightening- I also found it curious that Adele was the daughter of a prominent member of the Nazi party- that was a different perspective to read.

I reviewed the Butterfly & the Violin. I've just finished A Sparrow in Terezin. I was glad to see the author finished the story line from the 1st book, about William & Sera. I am really liking the style of writing by the author. I've enjoyed all of the books I've read so far. I would highly recommend any of her books for someone looking for a good read!

This book was such an inspiration to me I hated to put it down.

The scriptures used made me thirst for God's Word. The history of Terezin is eye opening. Thank you for sharing your interest in history in such a dark time in the
world. I recommend this as a true love story with a twist of history.

Stories we can never forget

Beautiful writing. Sad stories from a time we should never forget so it never happens again. I have all books written by this author.

Hard read due to subject but was time well spent reading - wasn't aware of Terezin and reading how children were treated is mind boggling...
