I have definitely added a new author to my list of top favourite fantasy writers.
To say I enjoyed this series would be an understatement and book 5's conclusion, did not disappoint.
I particularly enjoyed the way each new character entered the story and how the author grew their individual quirks, beliefs, skills and foibles. We observe the natural growth of friendships and antagonistic opponents while experiencing the raw emotions evoked in a variety of situations.

I can often second guess the story line of many modern fantasy writers. However, Krista combined the frenzied plot twists and unexpected turns of a good mystery with the swashbuckling bravado of epic adventure tales. This was all wrapped in a haze of family dynamics and deep friendships forged through shared adventure.

The wait is finally over! Book 5 of Krista Wallace's Gatekeeper series offers plenty to keep you guessing as it winds its way to a satisfying conclusion. Book 5 continues with the dragon action, battles, magic, and verbal quips we have come to expect from Wallace. I'll try not to give any spoilers, but the startling revelations about one newer addition to Valraker's company, I did NOT see coming. The ending of Book 5 left me with a smile on my face and a warm feeling in my heart. I think the same could be said of our heroine, Kyer.

After having received an advance copy, I flew through this final book of the series, wishing it didn’t have to end. Over the course of the series, the storytelling built an incredible world filled with authentic and unforgettable characters—some I loved, and some I loved to hate.

I truly loved this fantasy world, and saying goodbye feels bittersweet. It is a beautifully imagined setting and an exceptional series from start to finish.

Full disclosure: I'm voluntarily reviewing a complimentary copy of this book, and I am a fan. This is exactly what I look for in a series conclusion. Loose ends are tied up nicely. Character arcs come to a gradual and logical close. The story is a page-turner without making me stressed the entire time. I am so pleased with what Wallace did on this one. I can't wait for the audiobook to come out so I can go through the whole series again!

I received an advance reader copy and flew through this final book of the series! There were so many points where I commented out loud as I read I thought I lose my voice. (Not really but fairly rare for me as I read). Wallace wraps up everything to a very satisfying finish. Not a happily ever after finish but bloody gratifying. What’s next Wallace?? I want to read more of your works!

I loved this finale to an exceptional series. Authentic characters you care about and hate. It gave me what I needed and left me satisfied. I am going to miss the world the author created and I left with the joy and beauty of the finish.
A fantasy world that created reality and truth for a very special, diverse group of characters. Loved it.

As this is the final volume of a five-volume series, you would expect it to resolve all the outstanding issues, which it does, in a highly satisfactory way. The tension is high and the pace never drops, while each character is well developed and plays an important part in the story.
All in all, a great read.

It's over. The Kyer story has been brough to an end leaving our intrepid heroes to pick up the pieces in a world that has been broken but now has hope for the future. Krista Wallace has crafted a masterful conclusion to the Gatekeeper series with every turn leaving me wonder how each member of the cast will get out of the mess they have found themselves thrust into.
