Captain Jackson Daniels of the Magus Corps has never wanted to terminate a rogue witch so badly as he does Audrey Mather. The calculating use of her devastating sensuality to prey on helpless humans isn’t just repugnant. It’s a reminder of the fate of his own family.

But when he ensnares her with his own spell of enchantment, she bares her heart to him, and he is utterly shocked. Rather than the soul of a killer, he finds traces of an ancient entity so powerful that not even he can resist.

When the true killer learns that their ruse has been discovered, a dangerous game begins. Immortality is a blade with two edges. They will wield it to deceive and destroy the two lovers before their growing passion and power can’t be defeated.

Hazel and her husband stopped being separate people years ago. They live their happy life in the always crowded, mostly sunny, and sometimes sweltering city of LA. Though they haven’t managed it yet, plans are afoot to add a kitty to the household, thereby giving the allergist fits.

Hazel has been writing full-time for several years, with some traditionally published work in other genres. But it’s her indie-published romance that fuels the creative fire. It turns out writing isn’t a job, it’s an obsession.

When you can pry Hazel’s fingers from the laptop, you’ll find her: on the elliptical watching a documentary, indulging her audiobook habit, or spending quality time with Candy Crush. Although she’s vegan, she’s a disaster in the kitchen. Luckily, potato chips and pinot noir come ready-made.

I'm not sure I'm on board with a powerful High Priestess not being aware that someone has been lying to her for years and years. It's also not stated how the potion got bespelled since Audrey doesn't seem to have much control over her healing gift, and it only appears in moonlight. And finally, what was Norm's position or involvement in the whole affair? But apart from all these plot holes or unexplained issues, I felt the romance was lacking in this story. How does Jackson suddenly love Audrey? With barely any conversation between them? And Audrey reciprocates? Lust is more likely than love. There was a lot of potential in this book, but ultimately it was dissatisfying.

Jackson:Very Steamy Paranormal Romance,Mystery

I liked that this book had more of a story line to go with the romance. The story was not just contrived sex it was a more in-depth story line with more than the minimal characters to fill in a good meaty piece of work. Her heroin was very likeable and caring. And the Magnus Corpus Warnock Jason knows every trick in the book. He had me waiting for my husband to come home from work.

Great main characters, awesomely terrible bad guys, and intense plot!
That all makes for an awesome story. It's one of my favorites from this series.
I also really like Audrey's familiar, the cute/terrifying barn owl! He's definitely a protector. <3
It's a standalone book, like the rest in the series. Definitely worth the read!

This was probably my favorite of the entire series, followed closely by Trent.
The drama and intrigue in this one are just off the charts, and the villains are some truly nasty pieces of work. The conclusion of the story was pretty awesome, and I thought that it was just sooo apropos for the villains to go out with a bang!

Great story line but I couldn't get into the actual relationship. It starts with him basically drugging her to seduce her and ends with some inconsistencies. The plot was the best so far but the romance needed a lot of work for me.

it was okay. The sex was a little more graphic... the story was better in that it was more involved.

This review is from: Jackson: Her Warlock Protector Book 6 (Kindle Edition)
Warning mature content: murder, murder-by-spell, arson, cover-ups and deceit, human and other spices sacrifice for vanity.

It's a toss-up as to which was worse, The Templar for his Jihad or The Godmother and all her atrocities. We also get to see undeniable manifestations of Lord and Lady. True love, good plot and adventure are included. Curious yet? Good!

Jackson has been sent to determine whether or not Audrey is a rogue witch who is killing innocents. If he can gather the evidence to prove it, he is to terminate with extreme prejudice. What he discovers is astonishing. As he rushes to find the real murderer, someone else is trying to capture Audrey to use in their own twisted scheme. A really suspenseful story.

This was a good story! I liked the H/h & the heroine has a cool familiar. A white barn owl.
There's a murder mystery also & a couple of good twists.
