This is a hilarious picture book, for those with a taste for potty humour anyhow. I had high hopes for it when I found it on Kindle and couldn’t help telling my family about my new book with a stinky frog called Bubbles. I'm so glad it didn't disappoint. The illustrations are very simple, yet expressive and rather cute. And the story line was a lot of fun and neatly resolved. Sober readers with an aversion to potty humour probably won't enjoy this; but if you're like me and never grew up, you'll love reading it and sharing it with your kids.

Bubbles: Big Stink in Frog Pond by Ben Woodward and illustrated by Fran Riddell is lovey children's story about differences, preferences and most importantly friendship and acceptance. Bubbles is a frog who has a bubbling – farting – problem and is making the frog pond stink. His friends tell him to leave. After trying to change his diet, Bubbles can't stop and ends up leaving Frog Pond. But the frogs are attacked by human children and it is Bubbles' job to save the day with his 'bubbling'. The story is funny and though the frogs are sometimes drawn a bit creepy, some other pictures are really funny. Despite his problem, Bubbles goes to save his friends, who in turn debate whether he should stay or leave again afterwards. I really enjoyed the story and I like how the author allowed both Bubbles and the other frogs – characters – develop. This book is recommended to children and parents encouraging their kids to read as it deals with friendship and accepting others despite their differences.
We have my grandson and I decided that bubbles was a really cute book because it taught people but even when somebody has a difference it can still be used for good and that sometimes people just need to look past differences .
Bubbles is a tiny frog and he is a little stinker....literally. How do you think he got that name? He is bubbled propelled. His problem is his bubbles emit an offensive odour that drives everyone underwater just to get away from them. Poor Bubbles.... he farts AND he smells!!!
His froggy friends suggest that if perhaps he changes his diet his gastro problems might be eliminated, so Bubbles gives that a go. Alas it is useless, he is doomed to stinketh forever he doth think.
His friends finally cannot stand the stench one more minute and they cast him out. He reluctantly goes and as he is swimming away he suddenly hears a commotion happening back in the pond. A group of nasty kids have landed on the bank and are trying madly to attack his froggy friends. Without a moment's hesitation Bubbles heads back and saves the day with his weapons of mass destruction.....his putrid toots.
Will his friends seeing Bubbles bravery and sense of loyalty to them overturn their decision of banishment and let him stay amongst them? Will they finally accept him for who he is....funky bubbles and all?
The book is entertaining and just plain fun. It will be a hit especially with boys who love to talk about body functions...especially ill-scented ones. The story inspires kids not to be afraid of being different and to be creative as they work through problems together.
The illustrations are whimsical and Bubbles is depicted as an adorable, loveable main character. A little red ladybug is tucked into the illustrations on every page so it is a fun game trying to spot her. The book is a great reminder that we are not all the same but we must come together and celebrate each other's differences.

Bubbles: Big Stink in Frog Pond is a children’s story by Ben Woodard. Bubbles loves living in Frog Pond with his friends. His only problem is blowing bubbles in the water that smell so awful the other frogs do not want to be around him. Fonzo thinks Bubbles stinks while Shirley suggests eating different bugs, so the first week he eats flies…Bloop! Bubbles eats grasshoppers the second week…Bloop, Bloop! Ugh! The other frogs cannot stand the smell any longer and Groucho tells him to leave Frog Pond and take his bubbles with him. Bubbles is so sad, but when he hears a cry for help, he returns and sees boys catching his friends. He is so scared that out comes the biggest, smelliest bubble ever…BLOOP! It burns the boys’ eyes and the stinky smell makes them flee. The grateful frogs thank Bubbles, but still dislike his bloops and tell him to leave; however, caring Shirley wants Bubbles to stay. What will Bubbles’ decision be?
It is easy to imagine the responses of young children while reading Bubbles: Big Stink in Frog Pond. I love Bubbles, despite his bloops, and the other adorable characters too. Ben Woodard is imaginative and writes with a witty sense of humour. His theme is definitely original, giving good visuals of the Frog Pond activities with fantastic illustrations. Ben Woodard’s story is short and amusing, but it is also a wonderful tale that teaches children how to deal with embarrassing situations like the bloopy one Bubbles has.
This is the perfect entertaining read for my boys, who are a bit obsessed with making fun out of any stinky stuff (which is honestly quite embarrassing for me to admit). My older son couldn't wait to share this book with his brother after reading it by himself. They were both amused by the funny sound and smell Bubbles makes in the pond. They cheered for Bubbles when he saved his friends with his unique "gift". They felt really happy for Bubbles that he was able to figure out a way out of the problem. The colorful and cute illustrations of the book bring to life all the different characters and add to the humor of the story.
My favorite part is the positive message it delivers about a blessing in disguise. I also appreciate how Bubbles really cares for his friends - by trying a change in diet, by agreeing to leave while pretending his feelings weren't hurt, by coming to his friends' rescue despite the danger, and by taking the trouble to avoid polluting the air around the bond. The story also encourages kids not to be afraid to be different, to make the best out of a bad situation, and to be a creative problem-solver.

Review: (4/5 Stars) - This author takes a courageous concept to teach youngsters about bodily functions. I say this because as a nurse, it is hard to tell kids anything about their bodies and for any length of time. However, the author does it in a story and made it fun. What made him do it; who knows? We all have a little bit of craziness in us and his shows up in his writing and bless him as youngsters love it. I read this story to my grandchildren last week, ages 4 & 6. They LOVED the story and the 6 year old wanted to read it to her brother again by herself. It was just different. The 4 yr old just laughed and loved the art throughout the book. It helped having the pictures in it being a lot of cartoonish for kids and in this case, being green frogs as boys relate!! Of course I had to explain a few concepts afterwards but it didn't deter from them enjoying the story, I think it would have been a little easier if the ending showed he was actually by his friends because both kids asked where they were when the "plan" was to keep him there. Overall, a good story that plays well with children...
There are plenty of synopses of the book, so I'll move on to the review.
This is a good book for kids 3-4 and older. Toddlers haven't become self conscious enough to understand fart humor. But we know that fart humor can tickle the funnybone of kids aged four to sixty four, boys and girls alike. There are enough "bloops" in this book to keep a kid laughing for a week.
The story is a page-turner. It's well crafted to keep the reader engaged and wanting to know what will happen next. Appropriate for the genre, it doesn't include sub-plots or subtlety. The illustrations are fun and colorful, and there is some fun typography play (bigger/smaller/angled...) that I think will engage early readers. And speaking of early readers, the vocabulary used is great for eight- or nine-year old readers. I think middle-grade (MG) kids would also love it because (a) they will be able to read it easily, and (b) it's a funny book that MG kids will want to take to school and share with their friends.
I would have given the book five stars, but I don't feel that the production is above average. That is, illustrations, type, and type placement look good, but not professional.
Bubbles is a cute story and a good story too. Small children will enjoy the ‘stink’ part of the story! My 6 year old enjoyed the part where Bubbles made all those stinky bubbles!! Yes, it is a funny and endearing story. This story is a short one, perfect for a bedtime read. It has a simple language and very pretty illustrations. The pictures are well drawn and give the feel of the story with the ‘bloop’, ‘bloop’ adding to the fun. The story has a very simple premise and helps children understand that there is some good in everything.
Sometimes the things we find bad or ugly help us in our time of trouble. The way Bubbles jumped in to help save his friends is an admirable quality, which we all should emulate.
Overall I found the story fun to read and share with my kid. A simple, good book with valuable lessons for the troublemakers too. Farts can be fun too! That’s what my kid said!!
Read and enjoy!!

This is an adorable picture book about a frog with a not-so-adorable problem. He can’t stop making bubbles in the pond (if you catch my drift). His friends are fed up with the situation and tell Bubbles he’s got to go. But then something happens in Frog Pond that changes how all the frogs feel about Bubbles.
This light-hearted story has a message built into it about the importance of friendship. The vibrant pictures bring you right up close into Bubbles’ and his friends’ little world of Frog Pond. The carefully worded text moves the story along at a fast enough pace to keep the attention of young children. On top of all of this book’s other endearing qualities is the fact that my three-year-old giggles almost continuously whenever we read this story. That makes Bubbles: Big Stink in Frog Pond a winner in our house.

Bubbles the Frog has many friends in Frog Pond. His friends can’t stand one thing that Bubbles cannot stop doing-farting. Bubbles is creating a big stink that his friends don’t like at all. No matter what he does, Bubbles can’t stop farting. So, Bubbles leaves his friends, but as soon as he does, his friends find that they need help from Bubbles and his farts. A super cute book that is sure to leave kids entertained! I read this to a group of 4-5 year olds and the giggles would not stop. I’m pretty sure frogs and farting is a winning combination for this age group. I liked that the vocabulary was age appropriate where early readers could sound out many of the words themselves, especially ‘Bloop!’ I also enjoyed that the different bugs that Bubbles tried eating were all bugs that frogs would actually eat. The illustrations were simple, colorful and straightforward. Overall, a fun, humorous and educational story. This book was received for free in return for an honest review.
I am 9 years old and I think that this book is so0o0o0o0o0o0 cute. Me and my little brother thought that this book was super funny and we both like how Bubbles had a stinky problem that his friends didn’t like soooooo he tried to do what Shirley said but it didn’t work. But it was also a super good problem because it helped his friends.
The ending was AWESOME and Bubbles was very brave and best of all his friends liked him even with his stinkiness after what happened. The pictures are cool and I like how cute the froggies are and that the picture drawer used felt pens to draw them, a little like how we draw our froggies.
My little brothers’ favorite toy is Froggy and this story makes him so0o0o0o happy and he likes me reading it to him and Froggy before bedtime. And if you like this book as much as we did, you gonna really like “A Problem with Donuts”, too and that’s another super awesome book from the maker of this book about Bubbles. (♥=^.^=)
There is terrible smell on Frog Pond and it is coming from Bubbles. His friends insist he stops this horrible smell. They suggest he change his diet to no avail he still had foul smelling bubbles. Will they shun him from the pond? He is very sad and suffering not only from stinky bubbles he felt no self respect for himself. One day he could hear his friends scream for help. He forgot all about being shunned and went to help his friends. Will they let him help or will the send him away? No matter he still wanted to help. What could be causing his friends to scream? What a horrible feeling to be unwanted due to something you have no control over. Poor Bubbles! Grab a copy of this book to read if Bubbles can save his friends.I highly recommed this book!I rate this book a 5 out of 5.Disclosure: I received copy of this book from Mother Daughter Reviews for an honest review.
Bubbles is a little frog who is a little bit different to the other frogs. He has a big, embarrassing problem - he can't help but make smelly bubbles in the communal pond. The other frogs all decide it's time for him to go. But when disaster strikes, who will come to the rescue?
The illustrations by Fran Riddell are beyond cute. The kids will have fun trying to spot the little red ladybug while they are reading the story. This book is a nice reminder that we are all different, but that our differences are not necessarily bad.
Recommended for children ages three to seven, especially boys.
I received this book in return for an honest review.
This was a really cute book about a sweet little frog who just wants to hang out with his friends. I love how he got his name (poor guy) and the sweet message that is included in this book. My daughter really enjoyed talking about the bubbles, and "popping" them. She loved talking about the little toots too, in fact, she said "his bum bum is talking mommy!" haha. Anyway, this is a sweet little book for older preschoolers with a nice message about being yourself, and in the ends that's all that matters. You'll find your people. So although the message might have gone over my daughter's head, it was great for me to read over and over. :)
I received this book for free in exchange for my review, but my opinions are still my own.
Bubbles is a cute frog with a serious problem. It seems that no matter what he eats, he makes bubbles in the pond. Bloop! Bloop! His stinky farts don't make him popular with the other frogs in the pond. Eventually, they ask him to leave. Then one day some boys arrive at the pond site determined to catch frogs. Bubbles dreams about their plight. Should he try to save them?
The book is targeted for three to seven year olds; story line will probably appeal to the upper end of that range. The illustrations are simple and the plot is predictable.. Children who like humorous, quirky books will probably like it. Not the type of book to read and reread. Some parents or teachers might want to use it to approach a sensitive topic.
Bubbles is a frog with a problem. No matter what kind of bugs he eats, they cause him to make some stinky bubbles in Frog Pond. The other frogs are tired of putting up with Bubbles’ “problem” so they banish him from the pond. But, when the other frogs really need him later, will Bubbles come back to save the day?
This story is adorable and easily relatable to most children. Most parents know firsthand how hilarious children think it is to make their own “bubbles” in the bath. This book is sure to engage and entertain even small children. The illustrations are charming, colorful and eye-catching. It’s a short read, so it would make an excellent bedtime or even bath time read. Great fun!

Bubbles is a short picture book for children about a frog who is named Bubbles for a reason. No matter what he eats, he can't stop bubbling the water and making the pond stink.
The pictures are simple but colorful and cute. The story is also cute and I think children, especially boys, would get a kick out of a frog having trouble with making bubbles.
Bubbles uses humor to teach children how to deal with embarrassing situations as well as about self-respect. It is definitely a good book for young children.
Bubbles: Big Stink in Frog Pond is the cutest kids book! Bubbles got his name from because of this stinky flatulence that is driving every animal in Frog Pond crazy that he is finally asked to leave the group, and that leaves Bubbles lonely, depressed and in danger. But thanks to his “bubbles” the danger runs away and Bubbles saves the day and becomes welcome back into Frog Pond. It’s a cute book with great illustrations! I received a complementary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Bubbles Big Stink In Frog Pond is a humorous tale about a precious little frog whose constant "bubbling" causes a really big stench.
Bubbles has a real problem with gas, so much so that his friends can't take it anymore. But, when Bubbles leaves the pond trouble threatens his friends. Will he be able to help them?
This is a funny and entertaining read that preschoolers will enjoy hearing over and over again. The bright and engaging illustrations add to the hilarity and the story of friendship and acceptance is endearing. I highly recommend picking up a copy.
When I first read this book, I could imagine how much fun this will be for boys. However, my toddler granddaughter loves the noises that Bubble makes in Stinking Pond and I feel that when she is a little older, she will learn a valuable lesson about friendship and compromise.
The colorful illustrations are very effective and the text is easy for young readers to read and understand.
I received this book free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review through Mother Daughter Book Reviews.
I won this in a drawing from Goodreads. This book is very cute and the drawings are colorful. It shows how even though a friend may have a difference you can help them out, just like the frogs suggested Bubbles change his diet. When that did not help they asked him to leave which he did but then Bubbles saves the day and is welcomed back. It shows how Bubbles came up with ideas on how he can still stay but not be the stinky Bubbles everyone was used to when they were around him. This book is great for showing how problem solving helps others and even yourself.
Bubbles was a frog with a particular problem! He had several friends but one day they told him he could no longer "hang" with them. Bubbles was sad, but very soon things changed. Maybe even frogs with real challenges could be useful!
The text is simply written for toddlers up to the age of six or seven years of age. The Illustrations are likewise done simply by Fran Riddell \in bright watercolors.
The subject matter is slightly questionable, although it often happens. Many will find this slightly humorous.
And I thought boys would be the ones who would pick up on the story fast...HA!!! Read this book to our 5 year niece and let me just say.. she giggles and laughed throughout the whole story. She knew what "Bloop" exactly meant. Her favorite part was when the boys tried to catch the frogs... Well I guess you will have to pick up a copy of this book to see what exactly happens! Great kids book, full of color and funny story!
This book is really cute. It's great for Kindergarten and first graders. It is about a frog who had stinky bubbles. The other frogs didn't like it. Froggy saved the day. After that he was the hero, but still smelly. He came up with a solution to the problem. Read this wonderful book to find out. This book is great for teaching problem solving skills, bullying, and manners. The illustrations are wonderful.I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.
Bubbles is a cute vibrant story! Bubbles is a frog who, happens to bloop a lot. And the bloops smell horrible. His pond mates are fed up and send him on his way, but then something terrible happens that sends Bubble's and his stinky bloops to the rescue. A very interesting story for a young child, the illustrations are colorful and fun and the story is cute and funny. A must read for a young child!
Poor little froggy...can't control his gas (hehe). What a stink but what fun for little kids! There's a moral to the story also. Teaching kids while making them laugh and have a good time! Very cute illustrations and story. I'm sure we'll see this little frog return in many more books.

We have had a few bloopers in our family! I understand how Bubbles feels. I've been there and definitely have done that! Tonight in the car on the way home, my son said, "Oh, Grandma! What did you eat?" Perhaps that was Bubble's problem too, and his friend suggests a different diet for him. If we can't laugh at ourselves, what a boring life we'd live. I love the silliness of this story and you will too! I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
