First when I started reading this I felt like this could be part of a bigger world...but of course it actually is. I went and looked after I was done reading and I am so excited to read about all of their parents...because this is a legacy series. I feel really kinda not bright right now. I am also excited that there is so many books planned for this series and there is an uncaged duet! I need to read them all because I was obsessed with this one.
First I love that we see Rae really finds herself over the course of her book. Not only in her music more and more but who she really is and what she really wants. And it really is because of our boy Asher. Our MMA fighter who ends up getting hurt. The boy who left home and didn't ever plan on coming back. Who has that more tragic past. The bad boy.
Then we have Grayson. The best friend. Also, his family is a friend of her family. And he is a huge golden retriever who will do anything for her. I love him. I also love how while they all know each other that really Grayson and Asher are not friends really themselves and they really have to find that common ground for Rae. When we have the why choose/poly relationship dynamic in books a lot of the times it seems that the relationship dynamic is always set in stone with friendship a lot of the times on the guys side of things and it isn't really in this one so we also see how their relationship is over time as well. I would have liked to see how it develops more over time. I am hoping in subsequent books with other siblings we do get to see this in passing as well.
Overall I loved this I can't wait for more.

This audio!! Fantastic! Autumn Mercer, Brandon Francis & Ryan Lee Dunlap! The narrators did such an amazing job bringing this story, the heat, and the characters to life!! It made this experience such a fun ride!!

This story!!! Madi!!! My first why choose by her and she did not miss on this heat!! She absolutely brought it with this book! Two MMC who couldn’t be more different. Asher is our bad boy vibe while Grayson is the good boy, sweet & talk you through it type! Rae the star that she is!! Watching the relationship between her & the guys change & grow, then seeing them become part of it all for her, swoooon!! These 3 had so much chemistry and I was here for it all!

The added suspense to this one gave it a little something extra and just made this whole book such a fun, steamy, and well done work of art!! Next book please!!! 🤭🙌🏻

DEAR GAWD! MADI. MISS MA'AM! WHAT ACTUAL CRACK DID YOU PUT IN THIS BOOK & AUDIOBOOK?! I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT!

Audio: Dear GEEZUS. I may need to be doused in holy water after that audio because it damn near set my AirPods on fire. It is deliciously HAWT! Multicast duet narration?! This is the best thing I can imagine for this story & blessss did Autumn Mercer, Brandon Francis, & Ryan Lee Dunlap do this story absolute justice! They were perfection for these characters and bringing them to life! They gave it everything they had I swear! I cannot stress enough how much I loved this audio! One of my top audios of the year for sure, if not all time. Avery Caris & Patrick Zeller also appear in it & deliver top tier narration, as they always do!

Story: Not much hits as hard as a Madi Danielle "why choose", & this one hit HARD! I fell so hard for Rae, Grayson, & Asher! Rae with her good girl persona but wanting to find herself outside of that image, Grayson with his adoration for Rae & her happiness, & Asher with his damaged bad boy persona (my cat nip!). While Rae & Grayson have been best friends their entire lives, so they had that foundation, Asher was a bit of an outsider of the big found family (Audrey's half brother, wasn't around until he was 15ish). When he saunters back into Rae's orbit wanting a bit of fun, he sets off a chain of events that leads them ALL to each other, & some of the hottest chemistry! They are insanely hot, not only when 1-on-1 with Rae, but all together as well. It is MFM, in case you need to know. Also, Grayson & Asher taunting each other made me giggle & kick my feet because YASSS RAE! REAP THOSE BENEFITS GURL!

As mentioned, their chemistry, the touch of thrill/suspense (saw it coming but still gasped out loud!), the spice, the way they all grow together & bring out the best in each other, ugh just so frikkin good! I could talk about them all night.

I will not give spoilers, but I will continue to shout from the rooftops that you need this one in your life! Also, HIGHLY recommend (it's a MUST) that you need to immersive read this one! They story is so good, but the audio takes it to a whole new level of amazingness!

PS: The end of the epilogue?? GIMMIE next book right meow! There were so many hints throughout the entire book as to what's to come with this series, & I cannot wait to see them all get their HEAs!

Holy mother of hotness. This book was the hottest book I have read in a long time, and whew it was so good! It was so good I finished this audio in ONE DAY. Hats off to you, Madi!! I absolutely LOVED that Grayson was just a sweet angel, praise heavy babe and that Asher was the complete opposite, everything bad boy x degradation! I really love the relationship building in this story, especially because there was no force to make Grayson and Asher be friends just for Rae. It was the realization that Rae wanted two completely opposite things, and both could feed those what’s and needs. It was just making sure that she had everything she deserved! Also the little stalker add on - perfect little heart racing situation! This was my first Madi book, and it certainly will NOT be the last. 🔥

Autumn Mercer, Ryan Lee Dunlap, and Brandon Francis BLEW this audio right now out the water. They absolutely took my breath away and brought this story to life. The addition of Avery Caris and Patrick Zeller was *chef’s kiss* 💋

Good spice to plot ratio and an enjoyable listen!

Rae Culver is a popstar who lives her life by a set of rules and very rarely strays from the norm. Her best friend is a star hockey player who likes things just as neat and orderly as she does. What Rae doesn't know is her bff has been crushing, and well maybe she has been too. Raes life is about to be turned upside down when she meets an MMA Fighter who teaches her she may enjoy things a bit more devious that she initially thought.

Grayson Wheeler, Raes bff (crush?) And Hockey Player. The good guy. The team player. And the man who never thought he might one day end up in a polyamorous relationship.

Asher Sutton. MMA Fighter. Bad Boy. And BOSSY 🥵 Have to say Asher definitely stole the show for me, especially in the way he is able to break Rae AND Grayson out of their shells.

The way I absolutely ate this up. Second gen stories always have a soft spot in my heart, and this ticked all my boxes. Rae, Asher, and Grayson were perfect and I absolutely ate the dynamic up. The good boy x bad boy vibes helped Rae get the best of both worlds. This was hot. So hot. My soul left my body multiple times hot. The suspense plot in the background was just enough to keep me guessing.

The narrators also did an amazing job narrating this. The tension and heat was portrayed in a way that had me so immersed in the story - I couldn't stop listening!

Double Interference captured my heart immediately and still has it in its little dragon claws!

This book was so well balanced, from the sweet and swoony dynamic between Grayson & Rae, then the darker cat & mouse vibes between Asher & Rae… I was hooked. The differences between the guys was like good cop/bad cop at times and then they would surprise me and switch it up and I was SO here for it!! I loved how she got something so different from each man, and that the MMCs had complete storylines of their own too!

I have to add the disclaimer that I am a tough critic of MFM romances because a lot of times there’s a chemistry between the MMCs that leaves me wondering why it wasn’t MMF instead, or I feel like one person is left out of the group at any given time. I did not have either of those issues here! The way that Madi wrote the banter and competition between Asher & Grayson was perfect and added so much humor to the dynamic!

🎙️ this audiobook is outstanding!! Narrated in DUET full cast by Autumn Mercer, Ryan Dunlap & Brandon Francis, and additional narration by Avery Caris & Patrick Zeller. This was truly such a production and just an overall feast for your earholes. Can’t recommend listening to the audio enough!

It’s been a while since I picked up a why choose romance because I’m usually not the biggest fan of the trope, but OMG this book completely surprised me.

The chemistry between all the characters was off the charts 🥵🌶️. Every interaction was packed with tension, and the spicy scenes definitely delivered. I couldn’t stop turning the pages!

I also really enjoyed the little suspense added to the story. It added just enough mystery to keep me hooked alongside the romance.

This is book one in a brand new series, but if you're like me, you'll probably want to go back and read the Denver Dragons series because this new generation follows the children of those characters. Now I'm so curious to go back and experience their parents' love stories!

One thing I loved is that this book has a complete ending, so you won't be left hanging. The final chapter simply gives us a glimpse of the next couple and sets up what's coming in book two and after that teaser, I already know the next book is going to be so good!

If you're looking for a super spicy why choose romance with amazing chemistry, a touch of suspense, and a cast that will make you want to dive into the previous generation's stories, I'd definitely recommend picking this one up.

3.5⭐️: I wanted to love it but ultimately the story just fell flat for me. I needed a bit more character development for all of them. Grayson was such a golden retriever, maybe too much? He kind of took a backseat to Rae and Asher. It was also hard to believe that Grayson would just be ok with being in a polyamorous relationship after being in love with Rae all this time 🤷🏻‍♀️. Loved Asher, the broody broken MMCs always find a soft spot in my heart. I needed more of his backstory which we finally got to towards the end but it felt a bit late. I liked seeing Rae’s growth and finding her voice. The dynamic of their throuple was interesting. It was def a more smut forward book. The spice was spicing ya’ll 🥵🥵🥵🔥. Overall it was fiiiine. Perhaps I would’ve felt more invested had I read the Denver Dragons series beforehand. I’m interested to see how the stories for the rest of the next gen plays out.

this was my first book by Madi, and i’m interested to see her backlog now - especially after reading about the other side characters!

get some water because this book is SPICYYYY, it was quick and to the point and the characters are HOT. i was shocked at the pace but honestly it kept me interested instead of being dragged out so 🙂‍↕️

personally my favorite scene was (hint: 🧎🏻) !!! walk him like a dog girl 🤪

the book was easy to read at a time where it feels like it’s hard for me to focus, so that itself is an A+, i didn’t have to reread paragraphs to try to figure out how the scene is set up if that makes sense. and i loved the fact that we got to see all povs of certain scenes.

My first Madi Danielle book and it won’t be my last! I really enjoyed Double Interference. It’s a second gen book based on adult children of beloved characters from past series and this set is one big happy extended family/found family.

It follows Rea the Pop Princess back in Denver for the winter, her childhood best friend and hockey player Greyson, and the misfit loner turned MMA fighter Asher who comes back into town to recoup from a sports injury. One thing leads to another and the will they/won’t they for Rea & Greyson comes to a head and sparks fly. But Asher pops into the mix and it just makes sense.

There is a stalker, not one of the MMCs that is a subplot to this VERY spicy MFM romance. Like, whole chapters dedicated to spicy time.

I haven't read a MFM for a long time but this has definitely given me the bug to read more! Madi absolutely captured everything that needs to be in a book for me. There was romance, tension, spice and an underlying thriller!

Rae has always been the good girl, a pop star icon, and now suddenly she's involved with two men. Both men are opposite to each other but equally obsessed with Rae. They're not the only ones obsessed though, not with the packages that turn up and the unease Rae feels.

I loved going back to the Denver Dragon world, whilst you don't need to read the first series to read this one, it would give you more depth into Rae's world. This was such a fun book to read and I'm excited for the next in the series! Definitely recommend.

This honestly might be the best audio I have ever listened to. The narrators brought this story to life and WOW, I had such a good time with this one.

And this story, my goodness MADI- you brought the heat but in the best way! I absolutely fell in love with Rae, Asher and Grayson. Each of them now have a piece of my heart and the three of them are truly perfect for each other. The way that they compliment one another and the love that each of the guys has for Rae, it’s so special.

My jaw was definitely on the floor during a few of the scenes because holy hotness 🌶️.

HOLY HOTNESS, BATMAN! I came for the hot menage spice that I knew would knock my socks off (it did) and this adorable cover, but definitely stayed for the heartwarming friends to lovers story and this group figuring out how to be a throuple. And the audio is SOOO good. I started this audiobook and literally could not stop. Double Interference is ridiculously addictive, outrageously spicy, and somehow still manages to deliver so much heart alongside all that heat. This was my first intro to the Dragons world (though I've read other Madi series), and I'm excited to go back and meet the parents in the OG series now.

For a friends to lovers story (with some past longing) AND a throuple dynamic with a less-close family friend, I expected a bit more angst, but this one is pretty low angst, low drama (at least relationally). It leans heavily into the spicy exploration. And since some of the adults in their family are in poly relationships, this seemed pretty normalized for both our three characters and their families, which was actually kind of refreshing. At first I was confused why Rae would even seek outside of Grayson, since they were clearly on the verge of a full falling, but as the story progresses, it's clear to see that Grayson and Asher fulfill completely different parts of her heart, and together they give her everything she's been searching for. These guys are totally different and both delicious. One a sweet talking golden retriever/cinnamon roll, boy next door type who supports and uplifts and is safety personified. The other a dirty talking, rebel with a chip on his shoulder that challenges and unsettles (but also gives safety) in a way she needs too.

I loved how easy it was for them to fall together with Rae, but not always easy for the two of them. Grayson and Asher irritate each other, aren't instant friends, and honestly probably won't be. But they do become family and find a way to function that works for them and Rae. A mutual respect if you will. The banter between them had me grinning, and watching Rae happily reap the benefits of their competetive side was lots of fun.

I'm normal one for the broken bad boy, but here our golden retriever stole the show. Grayson completely stole my heart. He's the sweetest hero, endlessly devoted to Rae, ridiculously supportive, and heavy on the praise and affirmation. He was the balm to my soul. Then Madi gives us Asher, who was just fire. Broody, damaged, dominant, filthy-mouthed, and carrying years of trauma that convinced him he wasn't worthy of love. The contrast between these two men is such a great juxtaposition, and somehow they balance each other beautifully. Grayson brings the softness while Asher pushes Rae to step outside the image she's spent her whole life trying to live up to. Together, they help her discover exactly who she wants to be, and I loved watching all three of them grow into something that felt surprisingly authentic. And surprisingly low drama.

The chemistry is great, and Madi always writes hella delicious spice. I've only read MF books from her, and holy hotness now I want to read the RH ones in her backlist because the smexy times in this were just straight filthly in the best way. The praise. The degradation. The dirty talk. The tension. The group scenes. Whew. I was blushing, sweating, giggling, and paranoid someone was able to hear my headphones lol. It is SPICY spicy.

Grayson doesn't quite get the character ARCs that Rae and Asher get, and truthfully the most emotional content centers on Asher's background, but I did feel connected to all of them regardless. I also really enjoyed Rae's personal journey. Beneath the pop star persona and "good girl" image is someone trying to figure out who she actually wants to be, and watching her step into that confidence was so relatable.

The suspense element was also a fun addition, and in fact I wish it was ramped up even more at the end (it resolved rather quickly and holy moly that was a twist!). It raises the stakes, gives our protective heroes plenty of opportunities to shine, and had my heart racing more than once.

The star is the audiobook. The mulit-cast, duet style performances are SOO good. One of my fav of the year. Autumn Mercer, Brandon Francis, and Ryan Lee Dunlap completely embody Rae, Grayson, and Asher, bringing every ounce of emotion, chemistry, vulnerability, and spice to life. I honestly wasn't familiar with any of their work prior, but I loved all three of them here. And the vocal chemistry across the cast is so good. Avery Caris and Patrick Zeller are also great and apparently voiced the original first gen series, so I can't wait to check that out since they are both really compelling to listen to. Definitely recommend the audio. The spicy parts?! Holy shiiiiiz I about melted. Such an immersive listen.

And that ending?! Madi sprinkled little hints throughout the book for what's coming next, and it was a pairing I was hoping for. So excited to check out more of this series AND can't wait to grab the OG series because the parents/family had me all kinds of curious.

Pop Star x MMA x Hockey Player

I love a good “idiots in love” storyline where everyone knows but them. This is a bit elevated with it being why choose and having the bad boy thrown in.

Rae gave off proud nepo baby to me. Which isn’t bad, it is her truth. She talks about the difficulties of following in her mom’s shadow which makes her more grounded and I appreciated that aspect. However, hated that she had like zero sense of self preservation when it came to the stalker.

Grayson was a little too much of a golden boy for me. There was nothing interesting about him. I didn’t feel like he had depth and it honestly gave weight to how Asher thought of and spoke about him the entire book.

Asher was the opposite, he had such good footing to be a well fleshed out character but fell just short. It really seemed like he was creating most of his own problems. And the truth of his upbringing came along too late to relieve that take. But he was more fun and added more to the story than Grayson.

The plot itself is ok. I’m not the biggest proponent of MFM why choose. Grayson and Asher dynamic did not alleviate me of that because the real conflict between them was short lived and instead of them fully embracing one another, they just bickered less. They never interacted with one another to come to terms or an agreement but that’s on par with how the whole thing started. One minute she’s with Asher — having only had this one limited sexual interaction after years of not seeing one another — and she immediately starts dreaming up this poly scenario. This is also after she has this internal struggle of ruining her friendship with Grayson. I wish that was fleshed out more to add tension and possibly some depth for Grayson. They were both already struggling with that, he’s away a lot, they’re used to only having one another but they acclimate to the poly idea so easily and quickly.

I feel like it was repetitive at times. It overstated certain actions like Rae sinking her teeth into her bottom lip or the mention of Maya and Steele.

Rae, though, was extremely honest with them both from the beginning and that, I commend. I liked how they had support to lean back on and ask questions and refer to. The stalker’s identity was very predictable so it didn’t pay off well but I did have a good time hating him throughout the book. I love not just a dual narration but a duet! This multicast was great but I was not a fan of the FMCs narrator unfortunately.

The spice was good. But I think the issues I had with the dynamic between them all made for less of an impact.

I think if you’re looking for a fun low stakes read this will pay off well for you. If you like:

Let’s start with the MFM relationship because I know that’s what a lot of people are going to ask about. This isn’t something that comes out of nowhere. The previous generation in this world already features multiple-partner relationships, so it actually feels very natural here. Grayson grew up watching his aunt and uncles have this kind of relationship, while Asher has watched his bosses build successful multiple-partner relationships too.

And before anyone says anything … we don’t yuck anyone else’s yum. This book? It is absolutely Rondi’s yum.

Now let’s talk about Rae. She’s our resident pop star, and yes, some people think she’s only successful because her mom is famous. Those people are wrong because Rae is ridiculously talented in her own right.

She’s talked to her best friend Grayson every single day for years, but one night she spots Asher in the crowd. She grew up with him too, but he’d always kept his distance. Suddenly she can’t stop thinking about either one of them.

Honestly? Neither could I.

The first night the three of them come together is fantastic. What I loved most wasn’t even the romance itself - it was that both Grayson and Asher expected jealousy to hit them, and … it never did. The lack of jealousy actually concerned them more than if it had happened. Then reality sets in, and they’re left wondering how they’re supposed to explain this relationship to Rae’s parents. Even though they’ve seen relationships like this before, would they really be accepting when it’s their daughter?

Beyond the romance, there’s also a mystery running through the story. Something sinister is happening inside Rae’s inner circle, and someone clearly doesn’t want her to succeed. Add in the creepy messages claiming that she belongs to someone, and the suspense keeps building while you’re trying to figure out who’s behind it all. The only people I wanted Rae with were Asher and Grayson, so anyone threatening that immediately became public enemy number one.

I loved seeing Rae become part of both of their lives. Watching Grayson go to his uncle for relationship advice was adorable, and Asher finally opening up about his past absolutely broke my heart. One of my favorite moments was when his sister realized what he’d been carrying all those years. Her reaction was exactly what you’d hope for: “Do you think if I’d known what you were going through, I would’ve left you there? Never.”

And Charlie? We loved him in his book, and somehow he’s even more lovable here.

I also have to talk about the Denver Dragons connection. The Breakout has always been my favorite book in that series, so getting to watch Colton Wheeler’s son become so successful was incredibly satisfying. And let’s not forget - he’s an identical twin - which means I am beyond excited for the rest of this series.

Finally … that plot twist.

Without spoiling anything, the identity of the villain genuinely shocked me. I never saw it coming, and Madi completely got me.

Madi, this was another 10 out of 10. The narration? Infinity out of 10. It was absolutely perfect.

I cannot wait for the rest of this series.

Do yourself a favor and pick this one up immediately.

This book was 🥵, and it delivered everything I love in an MFM romance!

Rae is a strong FMC who knows exactly what she wants and she refuses to settle. She wants both her best friend, Grayson, and the broody bad boy, Archer, and watching her embrace that without hesitation was so satisfying.

Grayson is the ultimate good guy: hopelessly in love with his best friend and convinced he’ll never have a chance with her. Then there’s Archer the filthy-mouthed bad boy carrying the weight of his childhood trauma, believing he could never truly belong with them. The dynamic between all three characters was perfection.

The chemistry? Off the charts. The spice was spicy, and I loved every second of it. And honestly, what’s hotter than one man getting on his knees and crawling toward you? Two men doing it. Enough said. Add in a pierced bad boy and some truly unforgettable dirty talk, and I was completely sold.

I loved how different all three characters were and how naturally they fit together despite their differences. Their relationship never felt forced it evolved beautifully throughout the story.

One of my favorite aspects was watching Rae patiently stand by Archer as he slowly let his walls down and allowed himself to be vulnerable. His journey was emotional, and seeing him realize that he was worthy of love and a place beside Rae and Grayson made his character arc incredibly rewarding.

“She’s always like this, so bright. So perfect. Too good for me, and we both know it, but I’m holding on with both hands as tight as I can because if I were to lose her then I would lose all the light she brings with her.”

“I love that she loves me, even with all my unlovable pieces.”

I also loved getting to see the parents again and the hilarious banter throughout the story. The humor, emotional moments, and romance all blended together perfectly.

I also appreciated that the story skipped the typical third-act breakup.

I enjoyed this book but I wanted to love it. It has some of my favourite tropes, the characters are likeable, and the spice is fantastic. It just fell a little flat for me.

Whilst the connection between Rae and Grayson is obvious, they’ve been best friends since childhood and have been in love with each other for years (even though they’re the last ones to know!), the connection between Rae and Asher never feels quite as fleshed out. He was the troubled loner who never quite fit in and left town as soon as he was old enough, but, after meeting Rae once at one of her concerts, suddenly he’s moving back to town and they’re involved.

Until quite late in the book it also felt as though the relationship was quite unbalanced and Asher didn’t get as much of Rae’s attention. She only wanted to be with him when Grayson was there as well, whereas she spent time alone with Grayson. Given how much less of a grounding their relationship had, it would have been good to have seen more of Rae and Asher so we could see their relationship develop, rather than being told about it. It’s a small niggle, but it grated on me that Grayson’s pet name for Rae, Sunshine, was capitalised, but Asher’s, Good Girl, wasn’t. It just added to a general feeling of the relationship with Grayson being prioritised over the one with Asher.

That said, the spice is absolutely spicing! The one-on-one scenes are great but the group scenes are hot as hell! 🔥 Grayson is such a golden retriever and Asher just loves being in charge. The combination of praise from Grayson and degradation from Asher was sheer perfection 🫠

I loved seeing Rae’s journey of self discovery and working out who she wanted to be, rather than acting like the good girl she’d always been, and Asher and Grayson’s unconditional support was gorgeous.

Overall, I enjoyed the book, I just wanted more (particularly of Asher).

Madi Danielle seriously doesn’t miss.

I went into Double Interference expecting a fun, spicy sports romance, but I got so much more. I was completely invested in these characters from the very beginning. The chemistry was absolutely electric, the flirting had me smiling nonstop, and the tension was so worth the wait. Every time they were together, I was begging them to just kiss already.

One of my favorite parts of this book was that it was a why choose. Instead of feeling over the top, it felt natural and emotional. Each relationship brought out a different side of the main character, and I loved watching the trust, love, and connection grow between all of them. There was no unnecessary competition or drama between the guys. They were protective, supportive, and completely devoted, which made me love both of them even more.

And when things finally heated up… 🥵 Let’s just say Madi knows exactly how to write spice that’s incredibly hot without sacrificing the story. Every scene felt earned because the emotional connection between all of them was just as strong as the physical attraction. The spice was definitely there, but it never overshadowed the heart of the book.

I listened to this one as an ALC, and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. The narrators absolutely understood the assignment. They brought every sarcastic comment, every emotional moment, every flirty interaction, and every spicy scene to life.

What I loved most was how easy these characters were to fall in love with. They weren’t perfect, but that’s exactly what made them feel real. I laughed with them, swooned over them, and by the time I reached the end, I wasn’t ready to let them go.

If you’re looking for a sports romance with incredible banter, a slow-building why choose romance, protective heroes, found family vibes, unforgettable chemistry, and spice that will have you blushing through your headphones, Double Interference needs to be at the top of your TBR. Madi Danielle has officially become one of those authors I’ll sign up for (ARC/ALC) without even blinking.

My overall issue with this story is that I felt like the romance happened too fast. I love a friends to lovers trope, and that was a good chunk of the plot, but I need there to be more yearning, I want the longing… and I just didn’t get it from this story. I felt like as a throuple they just came together too easily and too quickly. It was very low stakes. While I enjoyed the spicy parts of the story, I felt like it lacked in conflict between the love interests. The emotional depth that I want from this type of romance just wasn’t there.
If you are reading just for the vibes and the why choose spice, you will most likely enjoy this book. There are a good amount of spicy scenes and they were pretty fun.
The secondary plot line about the FMC having a stalker also fell a bit short for me. I made a guess around the 1/2 way point of the book about who it would be, and I was right. I didn’t want to be right because that means the suspense and mystery element was lacking. I think for me to have rated this book higher it would have needed a slower burn and a little more danger, I don’t want everything in my romance books to be quick and easy.

The audiobook is duet narration. I think Autumn Mercer did a great job as the FMC. I do feel that the main two male narrators, Brandon Francis and Ryan Lee Dunlap’s voices were a little too similar for me. I just wish that it was easier to differentiate between the two MMCs voices. Avery Caris and Patrick Zeller voiced the supporting characters. I do appreciate a full cast, duet narration for this type of book, I just wish they had chosen more unique voices for the male main characters.

Side Note: I have not read any of the books from the previous generation series, The Denver Dragons, and had no issues with understanding and enjoying this book without any of the background knowledge.

Overall Thoughts: As much as I love audiobooks and talking about books, writing reviews is something I do for reasons, but it’s not my favorite. That said I couldn’t wait to write the review for this book. I loved it from start to finish, the only thing is I wish there had been a little more focus on the hockey, but other than that it felt like this book was written for me. Madi did an amazing job, and I am not only looking forward to the rest of the books in the series, but going back to the first gen and devouring those as well. This was my first book narrated by Autumn and she was spectacular as Rae, I loved her voice and the way she portrayed the character. Brandon and Ryan were fantastic and I thought they all worked well together. I l loved that Madi brought Avery and Patrick back as Rae’s parents too.

Can all three of them come together and will this throuple be able to survive the challenges ahead?

I love how this book was done so much!!!!
A why choose but they were not teammates or friends even before. Knew each other but Asher would not let anyone get close enough to call them a friend from their town really.

Except he couldn’t stop the pull to Rae anymore than he change who his parents were. Once he gets hurt and has to rehab his shoulder before returning to fighting, he decides to go back to his hometown. He felt the pull to be closer to Rae.

Rae is a famous singer who lives in the public eye and judged harshly for almost everything she does. That is why when she started getting gifts it scared her but she didn’t do much about it. Until Asher found out. Ya that didn’t fly well. Also a stalker will not be slowed down by much if anything Asher is a dirty talking dominant man that will only drop to his knees for one woman. But can he let his alpha having self share her? Can she be a good girl with a bad side too?

Grayson has been in love with Rae his entire lives. Only Rae doesn’t know it and has never really seen that from him. Yes she has known he loves her but not in love with her. I mean obviously he has to act all cool and show his cards. They have grown up together and both of their families know they are meant to be together but they never saw their relationship going the way it does. He may be her puppy but she is his sunshine. Grayson may be a hockey player but he avoids fighting almost to a fault so no one saw his dominant side coming out to play. When it does it plays to win like he does with hockey.

When the stalker decides he is done waiting for her and makes himself known - the gloves come off with these men and they will not let anyone get in their way of protecting her.

This is a spicy romance with dark aspects that are woven in perfectly. I loved it and the different careers, yet one undeniable pull towards our FMC.

Ok, I had a hard time with the dynamics of the relationship at at the beginning. She kisses Gray, then he leaves the following morning, by that evening she is in the back of Ashers car taking her pants off?!! Like there is just no relationship build up for either of the relationships. Asher has been gone for a while, shows up, texts randomly to go out, she says yes, then just good bye pants?! All while the the night before she was worried about ruining her friendship with Grayson if she pushed things out of the friend zone. I feel like I had this issue with Uncaged as well. It's not that the books are bad, but for the amount of pages there isn't a lot of detail, build up or "make sense" action happening. There isn't enough relationship building, angst or any burn at all. There isn't enough details on past history to warrant the supposed chemistry between Asher and Rae. It very well might be there and not be all sexual tension but it feels like you are missing what got them to this point in their situation.


As the book progressed - it was around 70% you finally started to get a feel for Asher and his childhood. Obviously he struggled but I think it would have been better if more details were sprinkled in sooner. That would have helped build the angst and relationship details that were missing in the beginning. 


Then the last 30% of the book stuff actually happened. You got more of the communication that was missing, the backstory, you got the extra spicy scenes. 🔥


The stalker plot line was a bust for me. I love a good stalker romance but it wasn't strong enough in this book for me. It just felt flat like it was a partial after thought.

Madi is one of my favorite authors and I will eat up anything she writes! Gyat Damn this book was hot! The Denver Dragon Series is a fav of mine by Madi. I love a second gen series and this delivered! Getting to see past characters is always fun and I loved the nod to Uncaged too!

Grayson, Rae, and Asher were so freaking hot together. Gray being the childhood best friend to Rae. It’s clear they’ve always had feelings for each other but never acted on them. Asher comes back into the picture after moving back to Denver after an injury. He did grow up with them but was never close to them.

Grayson and Rae had an effortless vibe to their relationship were as Asher felt he could never know love (due to the abuse he suffered growing up) Asher portrayed the dominating bad boy while Grayson was the golden retriever. It was a great balance! I would have loved to see more connection between Rae and Asher but I still enjoyed what they have. He is the one who knew to push her to help find herself.

Rae is such a fun character. She’s on a self discovery journey with her music and what she really wants in life. I really enjoyed that!

The chemistry?!! Holy Hotness! Madi always writes the best spice! God, Asher and his mouth! 🥵🥵 Grayson being a perfect balance to Asher’s dominance! These two will talk you through it too! The group scenes?! I had to fan myself! Seeing Rae own her confidence and really grow from the image of an innocent, good girl was really fun too.

I am glad we got to see a little more of Asher’s background and him reconnecting with Audrey his sister.

There is no third act break up which I appreciated but there is some suspense towards the end! I absolutely ate this and the crumbs for the next books up and cannot wait for more in this series!

Music, MMA, and Hockey collide

I have not read the previous books for the parents but I probably would as the dynamics sound so fun.

Rae is following in her Mother's footsteps as a famous singer. This book starts at the end of her tour.

Asher makes his presence known with confusing signals. He is an MMA fighter who is injured and finds himself going home to Denver for his surgery and recovery. He has a complicated history and is surprising even himself with returning.

Grayson is Rae's best friend and everyone has been shipping them just waiting for them to realize they should be more. They both want it but are afraid. Gray is our hockey player and loves seeing Rae wearing his number.

I love how Gray is her comfort and really us the golden retriever. I love that Asher calls him Rae's puppy cause he really is. It's freaking adorable band I loved seeing them deepen their bond.

Asher challenges Rae. He asks who she is over and over. This book is a lot of discovery. Asher also has to overcome his injury and discover who he is now. I love the way these two banter.

The relationship dynamics are not knew to these characters as they have seen it in people they know already. I like the way they fall into it and neither Nan is truly jealous. Though this was not how they saw things going.

The spicy scenes were all passion, discovery, and pure heat. I loved that each scene was different and allowed them to strengthen their relationship.

The stalker storyline in the background was predictable and not super exciting for me. I knew early on who it was. To me this wasn't what the story was about so I didn't mind.

I loved how Rae used everything she was feeling and allowed it to help shape who she wanted to be to the world. She grew and realized the Rae she had been has grown and this is her new vibe. Happy and in love with two men who helped her find herself.

It’s been a minute since I read a why choose and this one was such a fun read! I loved getting past characters, especially little tidbits from Amity and Uncaged. Also, Grayson has glasses, that needs to be said from the beginning.

This is not your normal why choose where the families don’t know how it looks. These 3 come from a world where it’s normal to be in a poly relationship, as long as you’re happy. I love reading this and Madi did a great job of showing the reader how it could be normalized.

Rae is a superstar singer everyone has dubbed as the good girl but it also means she’s boring. Grayson is a legacy Dragon hockey player who is the golden boy and has been best friends with Rae since they were kids. What everyone knows around them, including themselves, is that that have been in love with each other for a long time. Insert Asher (🤭). He’s been away from this found family for years and comes back due to getting hurt while being an MMA fighter and recovering from surgery. After seeing one of Rae’s shows, he decides why not see where everything goes. Rae tries to find who she is again and with both Asher and Grayson, she does.

The spice, chefs kiss. The way that Madi writes spice, especially a why choose, absolutely melting. Asher with his dominance and Grayson with good boy mentality, so hawt! I loved that Grayson also was a little dominant and he put his glasses back on during smexy time because Rae loved his glasses🙌. The dynamic was different too because these men weren’t friends at all but were willing to do anything for Rae and to make her happy. I also loved Asher and Grayson bickering.

I’m so happy we are back in Madi’s sports worlds and that we get to reunite with not just our Dragons but another crew we fell in love with as well!

This second gen was everything I was hoping and expecting and it was really cool seeing how the former Dragons and their partners are as parents/ grown ups. They still all have their personalities and banter and I love for that.

Now onto the “kids” aka the next gen. The fact that they were all raised like a big family was something to be admired. Madi always makes you crave those kinds of relationships while at the same time making you feel like you are a part of the crew. Their “voices” aka personality and conversations match their age perfectly as well, which is something I really appreciate. They are young so they are going to stumble a bit through life and she shares those stumbles.

She also is really good at bringing to life poly relationships. I like that she didn’t make it seem like it’s the easiest thing in the world to have in the environment we live in but she makes it healthy and highlights the beauty of all kinds of relationships.

Grayson, our resident hockey player, was so sweet and I just loved his big heart and the way he cared for our girl! He was so open and gentle and understanding of everything she was experiencing. Then there is Asher, the bad boy MMA fighter, with a major chip on his shoulder from a childhood packed with trauma. He was the yang to the group and a necessary energy though he struggled to see his worth at times. Lastly we have Rae, the pop star, and also the young woman trying to find herself. Fortunately she had two doting men who are willing to help her with that.

It was such a cute read and that cover is just fantastic! I’m so grateful to get an opportunity to read this early!

Finally finished this. Whoa. No fucking way this book took me 10 days to finish. I’m exhausted.

It was good in retrospect but like when you take the book apart and only look at certain scenes.

For the most part, it felt like they were making something out of nothing. Asher pursuing Rae as if materializing interest is that spontaneous and Grayson and Rae just dancing around each other masking their bond as “friendship” too scared and oblivious to blur the lines intentionally. Somehow it was slow as fuck and then got too fast but still boring.

There’s no real progression to Rae deciding to make this a why choose. It just pops into her mind and she won’t let it go. Oh, this one’s gold— “Never understood how you could fall in love with more than one person like that. But my entire world has shifted” —how tf are you in love when nothing has hinted at that; physical relations slash arousal are being made equivalent to “love” because as I said before, the character, actually the author, is making something OUT OF NOTHING.

Very personal takes: I really didn’t appreciate the slight degradation in their first trio encounter at the studio (I just don’t like degradation as a trope in general). And I’m okay with “good girl” in a sexy way during steamy time, but “good girl” as a nickname? Out the window.

Overall, it seemed to me like the characters had an inability to really FEEL, or rather, make the reader discern that love they are so quick to pinpoint in monologue. Also, Asher’s troubled/bad boy persona was tedious as fffffff.

The 3rd act damsel in distress bit—the villain was too obvious and it was just pretty pathetic and not angsty enough.

This book absolutely drained me.

Double Interference was a fast paced and entertaining read! Madi always writes fun novels that keep my attention from page one. The pace and tone was set very early on in the book and did not let up.

Rae is struggling to find herself and her storyline/growth feels like very rewarding. Although she is a popstar, she is down to earth and has ✨🌈 anxiety 🌈✨ and real emotions like everyone else which made her so relatable. I will say, I hated that she kept doubting herself on her paranoia and how she would not tell the boys what was truly going on. It felt like she was downplaying a situation when she knew it was really real. Does that make sense?

Grayson is so sweet and I loved his character... honestly, I think this could have been a 5 star read for me if it was just a friends to lovers storyline with only Grayson and Rae. I just really loved their long term gentle and special friendship relationship that blossomed into such a loving relationship.. and I wanted more of just that. I genuinely loved the relationship Madi wrote between Grayson and Rae.

Asher is the bad boy with a bad attitude that all think he is hot and love. Do I honestly also think this could have been a 5 star read for me if it was just romance novel written about these Rae and Asher? YES! They were just so fiery and explosive together! Their banter and tension was so well written. The way they supported one another was top tier and I loved how they helped each other grow.

Yes, the three of them together was so much fun and I enjoyed the dynamic Madi wrote but I think I really wanted the boys to kiss... LOL that could have also made this a 5 star read. Me giving this 4 stars is not a bad thing.. I just wanted more. Does that make sense?

Would I recommend this? Yes! Would I reread? Certainly. Would I carry on with the series? Of course!! Would I like a trophy? 100% yeah.

Moral of the story, I am sad the boys didn’t kiss 🤷‍♀️. In the meantime, I am chomping at the bit for book two!!
