This prequel to the upcoming video game Skullforge: The Hunt will span ten chapters and take readers through a gripping tale that is sure to be engaging.

About the author

James Garvin was born in Louisville, Kentucky. He has always been an avid reader and creator of strange stories since his youth. After moving to Texas, he got into playing AD&D and creating worlds and characters for his players to enjoy. His goal was to write fiction and make video games. The first story, Blood City Chronicles: The Black Petal, was well received by readers and is a good stepping stone into the character driven worlds he creates. His first game, Skullforge: The Hunt, will be released in 2015.

Scene set for an action adventure: This opening chapter sets us up with a rich and clear image of the fantasy world we are visiting. We learn of generations past and are brought to the beginning of a journey with a fascinating heroine - uncompromising and not to be messed with. This has begun as a tale told in an easy, efficient manner, conversational enough to pull you in. Crisp descriptions and smart dialogue… I was ready to settle back and see what adventures await. Chapter 1 of Skullforge introduces us to the family background of Desinarious Cornerstone or Desi as she is known. The elven daughter of Abraham and Jinan Cornerstone, Desi, is a tomboy, a force to be reckoned especially when there is wrong being done. The story is riveting from the start. Desi is portrayed to be a strong woman, unique and gladiatorial and that too in a setting that is magical. I relaxed, turned the pages, and enjoyed the saga. Now I cannot wait for Chapter 2.

Intriguing Beginning

In Chapter 1 of Skullforge: The Destined One James Garvin meticulously sets up the character Desi, an elf with tomboy sensibilities and impressive sword skills. When she breaks protocol at court defending a friend against the unwanted advances of a Count, she faces harsh consequences.

I'm intrigued and ready for Chapter 2.
