{While Mail Order Marriage is the second novel in the Grace Church series, it can be read in any order.}
She was afraid all the time now. It was on a stormy night, huddled in her rented room, that she realized not a second passed in which she was not terribly afraid. She understood the danger she was in. She had lived a life where her safety and comfort were considered and valued, until they were suddenly not. She was on the other side now. What were the options for a woman in her situation? The entire day from sun up until sun down, she had sought work. At first as a governess. She had no references. Then: as a domestic – as any household help. Not only did she not have references, a quick look at her fine gloves and well-made dress, and she was not even considered for any kind of labor.
Was even God turning his back on her?
From heiress to pauper to mail order bride: Miss Annabelle Spack leaves heartbreak behind in Boston and heads west to meet her fiancé on his farm. The long journey from coast to coast is nothing compared to the journey her heart will take when she arrives at her new home.
Jan hopes that her stories inspire and comfort you. When not writing or reading or teaching or shopping for tea, Jan can be found spending time with her husband and their daughter and their dramatic and demanding two pets: an extremely large cat and a very small dog.
Another sweet, clean, Christian story that has a wonderful storyline. Caleb and Annabelle are a wonderful couple that grew together and became closer to God. I love how Annabelle learned of our Heavenly Father and about prayer and faith. I look forward to reading more by this wonderful author.
What a warm and heartfelt story of love and faith. Annabelle had a big change in her life after her grandfather dies and leaves her as a pauper. She had to overcome fear being alone, little or no food or decent place to live. She becomes a mail order bride and her life changes for the good with the help of her new husband, Caleb.
I love the book very much. I love the verses of the bible. God is so good. Thank God every day. Your book was so so good. Enjoy it very much. Look forward reading more of your books. Thanks for writing it. It made my day reading it.
