If you love small towns, endearing friendships, food, animals, and a touch of murder, you'll love this cozy mystery series set in the charming seaside town of Holiday Bay, Maine.
In Book 41, autumn arrives with a bang as Holiday Bay transforms into the first-ever Halloween Hamlet, an immersive live role-playing event where ghosts and goblins mingle with the everyday visitors who come to shop, compete in festive contests, indulge in seasonal treats, and dance the night away.
Event planner Piper Halliwell, with help from Abby, Lacy, Georgia, and the rest of the gang from the Inn at Holiday Bay, has packed the celebration with unforgettable attractions, including Halloween Trivia, Ghouls on Parade, and the Monster Mash Mashup. The entire town embraces the spooky fun—until a longtime resident is found dead, and Colt's father, Hank Wilder, becomes the prime suspect.
As Abby works to uncover the truth before an innocent man is arrested, life at the inn remains as busy as ever. Georgia and Haven continue building their partnership, Mylie struggles through the ups and downs of pregnancy, the sale of Colt's parents' home falls apart at the last minute, Hazel celebrates her second birthday, and Bailey is thrown into turmoil when her estranged mother unexpectedly arrives at the inn.
With festive fall fun, lovable characters, adorable animals, and a puzzling mystery, this heartwarming installment is the perfect autumn escape.
Kathi lives with her husband, kids, grandkids, and dogs in beautiful Lake Tahoe. When she isn't writing, Kathi likes to read (preferably at the beach or by the fire), cook (preferably something with chocolate or cheese,) and garden (planting and planning not weeding). She also enjoys spending time on the water when she's not hiking, biking, or snowshoeing, the miles of desolate trails surrounding her home. Kathi uses the mountain setting in which she lives, along with the animals (wild and domestic) that share her home, as inspiration for her cozy mysteries.

Things related to the death of Colt’s sister, Sarah, are the basis of this book in the series. The town is preparing for a Halloween festival and the Inn crew are heavily involved. Colt’s mother, Ruth, and Abby have a real discussion. It’s another great read in the series, but I do recommend starting at the beginning. Although all books can stand alone, the characters do evolve and it makes the series that much better.
The Inn ay Holiday Bay has been one of my favourite series since the first book. Once I get my hand on one I can’t put it down. This one was specially interesting. We got a lot of information about Colt’s family. I don’t think I remembered his sister’s name. I read it in one sitting I loved it. Now I wait for the next one.
A very complicated murder plot affects Colt's father, Hank.
When Hank's former friend, Gordon, returns to Holiday Bay; Hank's guilt causes him to behave in a horrid fashion. Abby is involved in the Halloween festival, her friends and soccer coach duties throughout this book. When Hank is arrested and Colt is taken off the case, she works with Beck to help clear Hank.
Autumn and Halloween are celebrated with a town party. Hank and an old friend come to blows. When the friend is found dead Hank is accused. Ruth reaches out to Abby, thus bringing healing to them both.
this is another wonderful story with abby and friends tr ying to find out who the murder is . it has some second chances and how holding onto pain and not forgiving someone can lead to something very bad happening.
