This is the second book in this impressive series, and this is Lincoln and Zara’s story. Lincoln is a billionaire, and when he misplaces an important part of technology, he goes undercover and a luxury resort in Hawaii as a gardener, to find it. Zara has her hands full with raising her younger siblings, and she is the concierge at the resort. When Zara catches Linc in a compromising position, they team up to help each other out, and she recruits him as a temporary nanny. This is a well written easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, secrets, mystery, hidden identity, determination, challenges, revelations, humour, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and endearing page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Just My Luck, is the second book in Accidentally Yours. It's the story of Lincoln, who is a billionaire. . He is incognito as a gardener at luxurious hotel in Hawaii looking for a precious piece of technology that was misplaced. Zara, also works at the motel while raising her two younger siblings, she notices something is off with new gardener. They soon join forces to save themselves and her family.
There is many laugh out moments through out the story that will leave a smile on your face. The chemistry between Lincoln and Zara is off the pages. I love Lincoln how he could come down a few notches to be more of normal person. I do recommend reading the first book to get the whole back round story. I loved the setting in Hawaii.
Fantastic second book in Bernard's new accidental meet-cute series. Just My Luck was refreshing, fun, and I chuckled extremely hard throughout the entire book. Every moment just clicked and the chemistry between Lincoln and Zara, whether it was steamy or funny, was absolutely perfect.
Lincoln Kerr, is the billionaire who spent the majority of the last book in a coma. When he was awake, he came across as an upper crust, entitled billionaire that Rory, his pilot, tried to pull off. That is an entirely different story, so back to Lincoln who is now working as a gardener and a manny. 😂 That's right...a commoner earning minimum wage, but don't worry about his bank account as Lincoln is only masquerading as the help. Why...well he's doing so while trying to locate the missing crystal that caused so much trouble in the last book and he's doing this incognito because he still isn't sure who was sent to take out his plane which is what put in him that coma in the first place. It's smart, while also hilarious. Lincoln acting as a normal person is seriously the funniest thing to read. I tell you what, it's brilliant and I loved everything about it.
It's while Lincoln’s undercover that he meets Zara Morrissey, a woman who knows a things or two about deception herself. Zara's father is a con man and is currently serving time in prison, which means Zara is taking care of her younger siblings while still trying to figure out her path in life. While this would get a lot of people down, Zara's the most positive person you'd ever meet. Her sunshiny personality is hard to miss, even when Lincoln shouldn't be looking since he's preoccupied with his search, or should be. And while Zara isn't looking for anything or anybody, Lincoln is intriguing enough to catch her attention, but probably because she's familiar with someone who's not being truthful. Unfortunately, by the time she figures it out, she's invested in him, his quest, and his cause. Her can-do spirit is awesome and I loved her pluckiness and willingness to help.
Every interaction between these two had me chuckling. They were infectious together and I just couldn't stop reading. It's hard to even remember that this was the same man from the last book, but as Lincoln even realized - two crashes and a coma will put some things into perspective. Lincoln really grew on me and Zara was an easy character to fall for, the same can be said for her siblings. The entire book was so much fun and I was so invested in their story I had no idea where the time went.
Just My Luck is heartwarming and displays the best in people, especially when the going gets tough. It's also wonderfully funny, with the perfect amount of suspense and intrigue, and just a splash of whimsy to give it the perfect romcom feel. I've never been to Hawaii, but with each book in this series it's made me want to visit. I love all the lush and tropical descriptions, and colorful characters added throughout.
Jennifer Bernard is back with JUST MY LUCK, featuring Zara and Lincoln. Billionaire Lincoln has lost some prized tech and has gone undercover as a gardener at a luxury resort in an attempt to recover it, unexpectedly throwing him in Zara’s path. Zara has her hands full trying to provide stable environment for her younger half siblings when their dad is sent to prison. Between work, her online course, and her siblings, she doesn’t have time for anything or anyone else. When a chance encounter with “Jim” the gardener lands her in the middle of his search, she doesn’t hesitate to jump in and help. I always love Bernard’s novels. She writes main characters with chemistry that is off the charts, fun and quirky secondary characters, and witty dialogue wrapped in a story that will keep you turning pages. This is the second in her Accidentally Yours series, and I missed the first, much to my regret. This one can stand alone, but I feel I missed a bit of Lincoln’s character evolution from Billionaire with no clue about those under him to a more understanding employer/man. I enjoyed how Zara and her family helped him become more down-to-earth. I am definitely heading back to reading the first book and can’t wait to see what Bernard has for us next! Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the novel. All opinions are my own and freely given.
Well, I read this entire book on a plane, I literally couldn't put it down. We are back in Hawaii with billionaire Lincoln Kerr looking for a newly discovered energy source that he lost on the Big Island. Zara is just trying to survive her life, helping raise her 2 siblings, and not get fired from her concierge job at one of the Islands best resorts. Linc thinks the item is at Zara's resort and he poses as an ordinary gardener instead of a billionaire, to get access to the property to do his search. Chaos and hijinx ensue as Linc unwittingly pulls Zara and her family into danger, as others are also hunting for this energy source. I loved the chemistry between Linc and Zara. I laughed out loud as Linc served as Zara's "manny" to help them get info on the energy source. I think what I love most about Jennifer Bernard books, is that her deep love and knowledge of her hometowns comes through in every story. As a part time resident of both Hawaii and Alaska I love escaping to towns and villages I only dream of visiting. This book is part of the Accidently Yours series, and can be read alone, however the first book was so great, you would be silly not to read it first. As always, thanks to Jenny for writing a wonderful story and letting me get a sneak peek.
This was a fun edition to this series. In the first book we met Lincoln, a billionaire. In book one he was in a coma most of the book, and then he was pretty unlikeable for the rest of the in this book however, we get to peel back the layers in who Lincoln is, and I really enjoyed his growth. Lincoln had returned to Hawaii to try to finish what he started. He needs to retrieve his technology and so he goes undercover as a gardener to try to figure out what happened to it. While undercover at a Hawaiian hotel he meets the lovely Zara. Zara is a concierge currently, but she has almost been so many other things too. Her long list of almost careers is stopped by negligent parents leaving Zara to care for her two younger siblings. As Lincoln carries on with his mission, he can’t get over the lovely Zara and the chaos and fun she adds to his life. But when Zara learns the truth of who he is and what he is doing in Hawaii will it all come crashing down? I enjoyed Lincoln’s growth, and the continuation of the storyline from book one, with an update on our couple from book one. A fun quick read, that leaves the door open for more. I received an ARC, and this is my honest review.
This is book 2 of Jennifer Bernard’s Accidentally Yours series. While continuing the story from book 1, I went into this book blind and I had no trouble following the storyline. I will, of course, be going back to read book 1 now. The story brings together Zara and Lincoln from two different worlds- Lincoln is a billionaire driven to locate a missing piece of important technology that has worldwide implications and Zara is struggling to raise her two siblings while working and finishing school. Lincoln gets a crash course in “normal life” while undercover as a gardener at the fancy Hawaiian resort where Zara works. The two team up to continue the search, dealing with “bad guys”, kidnappers and even her con man father. Lincoln even ends up undercover as a manny to her siblings to stay under the radar. The story is suspenseful, fun, refreshing, humorous and, of course, a love story. While from difference worlds, the characters had great chemistry. There are wonderful descriptions of the tropical setting and the role of Zara’s siblings add humour while also humanizing Lincoln. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
Again, we are on Big Island, Hawaii. Everyone is continuing to search for the CHUM crystal or parts or related parts of it. The main characters are Zara and Lincoln. Lesser characters include Zara’s siblings, Mia and Eddie. The bad guy, Tanaka, who is after the crystal, at any cost. Lincoln’s estranged sister seems to want to reconcile with Lincoln. Lincoln and Tara head to the camp from the first book in the series where we meet up with Rory, Lincoln’s pilot in the first book, and Mathilda, the archeologist on site. The love story continues for Lincoln and Zara; the quest for the crystal continues. This an action-packed adventure and fun romp through the jungle of the Big Island of Hawaii. The story is well written and continues to develop. I really like how the author includes so many facts about the landscape and population. I have to look up all the plants she mentions to get an idea of what the characters are experiencing. I can’t wait for the next in the series. With the current hurricane, Iala, skirting the Big Island in real life, I have to wonder how the characters are all doing during the storm. 😊
I think my favorite nickname for Lincoln is “Lincoln Log”! You’ll need to read it to know why… First, this is a wonderful setting – Hawaii at its’ best, imho. I felt like I was there, waves crashing on the beach. For me, Lincoln really redeemed himself, or I could say, transformed himself into an actual human.
Zara is a hoot! Thinking Lincoln is secretly an alien??? Not really but she does put it out there. And her sister and brother are adorable, adding to more confusion to Lincoln’s world. The growing feelings between Zara and Lincoln are touching and fun to read. From very different perspectives, these two need to work out their own feelings on love, life, and (dare I say it?) the happiness of pursuit!
There is humor, intrigue, mayhem, fleeing from bad guys…with a touch of lightheartedness to keep you smiling. I so enjoyed reading how these two came to know each other, grow closer, help those around them, AND (sort of) foil the bad guys. And I didn’t bring any sand back with me, win/win! Loved these two.
I so liked, Just My Luck, the second book in the Accidentally Yours series by Jennifer Bernard. This book was a fun read, hitting so many of my happy buttons!
Linc, brilliant billionaire inventor who has lost a piece of technology that might turn around the need for fossil fuels...if he can find it and use it for good. Zara, whos family it totally upside down, trying to make a home for her younger half-siblings while working at a luxury resort.
With Zara's help and snarky attitude, Linc begins to see how his privilege is not normal and how he needs to become less of a germ-o-phobe, entitled, billionaire, and more cognizant of other people just trying to get by.
In marches uber-bad guys who want nothing more than to use Link's tech as a weapon. He has to think fast to save Zara, her family, and himself!
In my opinion this is NOT a standalone. There are too many references to what happened in the first book to be able to understand what's going on in this one without having read the first book!
I really enjoyed the second book in the Accidentally Yours series. It’s centered around Lincoln and Zara. Zara is taking care of her two half-siblings,after their father is incarcerated. She’s working at Royal Leilani Resort as a concierge. Lincoln is working as one of the gardeners. When Zara can’t get a babysitter, she lets her brother, Eddie, and her sister, Mia, stayin unoccupied hales, the private bungalows at the resort. One day, she enlists Lincoln, who goes by Jim at resort, to check on Eddie. Eddie’s stuck in tree. Eddie ends up falling and landing on Jim. Jim is fired. Zara comes up with idea that Jim can be her manny. Lincoln doesn’t need the job, but he wants to be around Zara. He still hasn’t told her who he really is. What will happen when he does? I’m not going to leave any spoilers, but I will say this book has steamy moments, but I really loved the suspense in the book. Do yourself a favor and grab your copy to see what happens in this fun read.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
JUST MY LUCK is the second in Jennifer Bernard’s Accidentally Yours series. Billionaire Lincoln Kerr has lost a critical piece of developing technology and goes deep undercover to search for it. In the time he’s been acting as one of the resort’s staff gardeners, he’s had to learn a lot about native plants. Concierge Zara Morrissey is a bit of a free spirit but taking responsibility for her half siblings definitely requires her focused attention and tremendous life skills. When the two cross paths at work, not losing their jobs takes some careful juggling and more than a little luck...
Jennifer Bernard's storytelling is always captivating and her characters win readers over every time. Zara and Link face some big challenges as they also tumble into some big feelings... While Just My Luck can stand alone, it's best enjoyed after One in a Billion, the start to this series. And I can't wait for more!
Jennifer Bernard has the wonderful skill of combining romance with adventure, great plots, interesting and endearing characters, witty dialogue, and unforgettable settings. I am loving this new series, which continues here with Lincoln. He is a truly interesting character. Wealthy, driven and determined. From One in a Billion, I had the impression that he would lack a bit of empathy and be a bit rigid, so it has been delightful see the unveiling of a character with so much to offer others apart from a job and passing acknowledgement. The human he is, is capable of so much more! Zara is a delight. She's vibrant, fun, a bit all over the place, but totally lovable. As the adventure continues, there are more twists and complications, but I found myself carried along by the sheer energy and joy of the story and writing! And more to come! 💖💖💖💖💖
Just My Luck is a fun read. This is book 2 in the Accidentally Yours series and should be read in series order. You get to know Lincoln more in this one. Lincoln is that billionaire who has found new technology and is now recovering and searching for his device in Hawaii. He is not what you expect. Zara is holding on the best she can juggling her younger brother and sister and dealing with her f father's fall out. Lincoln and Zara form this friendship that leads to amazing chemistry you will love. This book will make you giggle and keep you on your toes. I love the changes in Lincoln from the first book to this one. Of course it wouldn't be a book with Lincoln in it that someone isn't kidnapped. I could not put this down. Zara and Lincoln are an amazing team. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. You need to one click thus today.
This is a non-stop adventure of fun, family, intrigue and finding your person. You will benefit from reading the first book in this series, "One in a Billion" because this is where we are introduced to Lincoln and I absolutely adore Lincoln. His experiences from the first book to this one are incredible, unbelievable and life altering. Zara is a force of nature with her "look on the bright side" personality, loyalty and witty dialogue. There is something about them that seems magnetic and irresistible.
Lincoln and Zara's journey is a bumpy and precarious one from urgent care, a devastating storm, a jungle trek and gun toting bodyguards, but it is an exhilarating ride as they grow closer and their spark gets bigger and hotter. I love the final scene on the beach - a perfect ending with the mystery of May 20th!
I liked how this book focused on Lincoln Kerr, a 37 year old billionaire. I did not really like him in the first book because I thought he was arrogant. Boy did I change my opinion in this book! He was less arrogant and more caring. Maybe it was the influence of Zara and her siblings.
I liked that Lincoln was still trying to find the lost CHUM so it wouldn’t get in the wrong hands. He even posed as a gardener at a hotel, which is where he met Zara who worked at the concierge desk. He even got to be a manny at one point too.
The story was full of suspense, heart pounding moments, and romance that made it so much fun to read. Some of the characters from the first book were in this book too which was nice. I received an advance copy of this book, and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

I loved Lincoln and Zara! We first met Lincoln in the first book of the series, One in a Billion, however he was in a coma for a good portion of that story. Now we get to see what he’s going to do about his missing crystal. I loved how him and Zara met for the first time. I mean he’s stuck and trying to figure out how to get out of this situation he’s found himself in. Luckily Zara and him decide to team up and work together to help each other. Zara is such a unique and wonderful lady and boy does she have her hands full with her younger siblings. I loved seeing how Linc interacted with them and became a much less uptight person. These two were just perfect for each other and then throw in the mystery with the CHUM and his enemy Tanaka and you have yourself a great story.
Getting to read this book was a stroke of luck for sure. It was such a good story and really fun to read. Lincoln and Zara were pure perfection in this book. They had a connection and chemistry that were completely off the charts and utterly undeniable. These two must work together, even though you wouldn’t think they would at first glance. Seeing Lincoln and Zara interacting was so entertaining. There was amazing banter and so much sass. But there was also a genuine bond that could be felt through everything. Alongside that connection we got mystery and intrigue and suspense from the greater storyline. But it was the relationship between Lincoln and Zara that kept me coming back for more constantly.
Lincoln is a billionaire. He’s been working on and protecting a power generator thingy called the CHUM. He’s been injured in a plane crash in the jungles of Hawaii and was in a coma. He’s working at a resort as a gardener while trying to find the thing he lost. He’s been very closed off emotionally and also very secretive. I guess that comes with the territory. Compared to Lincoln, Zara is an open book. She’s smart but never seems to finish the degrees she begins. She’s now a concierge at a resort and takes care of her younger siblings while dad is in prison. Lots of twists and turns in this one. I enjoyed seeing Lincoln be more human, more emotional and more reachable. Zara just naturally brings it out of him. This is a fun read and the second book in the series. Enjoy!
This is book 2 in the Accidentally Yours series. In book 1 Lincoln Kerr needed to be saved and went through so much but still lost the crystal. Now he goes undercover at a luxurious Hawaiian resort the last place it was seen. Zara Morrissey is a concierge there and raising her two siblings. She gets involved unknowingly and they are all now in a dangerous position. Lincoln must save them all. This has a meet cute where they have instant sparks. I love their banter and the way they interact in the situation. Recommended for the romance with a side of suspense.
the first book in the series was different from this author's normal books. This second book follows the story via Lincoln, the billionaire.
Link is trying to find his property that has world changing possibilities. Zara is just trying to make it day by day while taking care of her two siblings. These two are opposites that attract and need the other so much. Link is cut off from family and so serious, while Zara is very entangled in family and sees the bright side of everything. I am hoping that the author continues and expands on this world.

This is the second book in the Accidentally Yours series. Thank you to the author Jennifer Bernard and 1852 Media for an advanced copy. Lillian - @lillianbookreviews on instagram
These two start off as polar opposites but soon realize they are more alike than they think. Each comes from a dysfunctional childhood with the emotional scars to show for it but they are a wonderful balance, especially when they are working together. These two are such strong characters with a will to do the right thing. Zara has always been that way but watching Lincoln grow into it was amazing. The world needs more billionaires like him, especially with all the new tech out there!
Intrigue, a great plot and romance this book has it all. Lincoln is the billionaire trying to locate a missing high tech crystal. Zara is the hard working hotel employee raising her younger brother and sister.Lincoln is in disguise as a hotel gardener and gets himself entangled with Zara. There is comedy, light hearted fun, romance and a proper compelling story. The plot will keep you hooked as it throws up some surprises. A great book to read.
Just My Luck is a perfect blend of humor, romance and a touch of suspense/intrigue to make Zara and Lincoln’s story fun and entertaining.
Lincoln is a billionaire who is working as a gardener to find a missing crystal that caused all his troubles. Zara is raising her younger siblings because her father is in prison for being a con-man, so she knows a thing or two about deception. The way these two interact and banter was great!
I don't think I've ever had so much fun escaping to a tropical destination through a clever and well crafted book. This story was just plain fun and a delight to read. I adored the humor, chemistry, romance, suspense, shenanigans but especially the romance. Excellent writing and so entertaining I couldn't put it down, great tie-ins to book one. This rom com is the full package, you will love it, I did!
Brilliant and very humorous conclusion to the transformation of Lincoln Kerr from arrogant billionaire to normal human being aided by a great supporting cast. Lots of action and some spot on comparisons between successful businessmen and con artists. A thoroughly enjoyable read. I loved the inclusion of lots of beautiful descriptions of the stunning scenery, the myths and legends and colourful local characters. Perfect holiday read.
Just My Luck is book 2 in the Accidentally Yours series by Jennifer Bernard
Up next is Lincoln, now undercover as the luxury hotel gardener searching for the missing piece of technology and Zara, the concierge at said luxury hotel. What happens next is secrets, cute meet stuck under a cabinet, banter, twists, turns, grumpy/sunshine, family, suspense and more…can’t wait for the next book!
I voluntarily read a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I enjoyed this book and getting to know Lincoln a bit better. Zara is his complete opposite, but they fit together. This book had mystery, intrigue and shenanigans. When they work together they shine. I loved how he showed his gratitude to Rory. I felt bad when he bared his soul to her and she didn’t say anything. This series is cute and the characters are quirky. I can’t wait for more in this series. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.
