About the author

Rhys Ford is an award-winning author with several long-running LGBT+ mystery, thriller, paranormal, and urban fantasy series and is a two-time LAMBDA finalist and a multiple Gold and Silver Medalist by the Florida Authors and Publishers President’s Book Awards. She is published by Dreamspinner Press, DSP Publications and Rogue Firebird Press.

She shares the house with Harley, a gray tuxedo with a flower on her face, Badger, a disgruntled former alley cat, and Gojira, a mercurial Tabico as well as a ginger cairn terrorist named Gus. Rhys is also enslaved to the upkeep of a 1979 Pontiac Firebird named Tengu and enjoys murdering make-believe people.

What a great interlude with a look at the past and just how far Miki and Damien have come. Here, they honor their fallen bandmates by starting to heal and taking a chance on well deserved happiness.

This was short, it was surprisingly emotional. Damien & Mike say good-bye to Dave and Johnny and Mike makes good on a debt owed. Apparently it only took Ms Ford about 9 pages to reduce me to tears, so yeah, read the last couple of pages with tears in my eyes and hope in my heart for more Sinner's Gin...soon please?

An emotional short that shows the band in it's early days, then the brothers that remain. It shows them as young men, their brotherhood and rather poignantly their differences and how deeply forged the bond between Miki and Damien is. In comparison to that is a flash of mindless hatred. Bitter and real.

Hate, Love, Grief - all in but a few pages.
I'm left wondering how the young boy was afterwards.

This lovely short extra story gives us a glimpse of all of Sinner's Gin interacting back in the day. After only hearing about Dave and Johnny from Miki and Damien's memories in the books it was a treat to actually see them on the page "in the flesh" for once. The ending, in which Damien and Miki essentially go to say their goodbyes to their late friends, was beautiful and sure had me tearing up a time or two.

Break my heart why don't ya! I loved seeing a flash back to when Miki and Damien had their old crew but it was heartbreaking at the same time knowing what happened to them all. This was poignant and touching. Lovely little piece.
