This is one of those books that you don’t know where to start with your review 😬
I downloaded as soon as it was out because I knew it would appeal to me, I was not disappointed 🖤 The storyline went beyond what I anticipated given the title and it kept me glued to the pages because the need to know was so intense and the ending, I still can’t, one part of me was OMG and the other was seriously! Which led me to ponder it overnight to assess my thoughts, NGL that did not work I still feel the same 🤣
“𝙸'𝚖 𝚐𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚘 𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚠 𝚢𝚘𝚞, 𝚓𝚞𝚜𝚝 𝚑𝚘𝚠 𝚐𝚘𝚘𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚒𝚜, 𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚝𝚕𝚎 𝚍𝚘𝚕𝚕.”
Now, suffice to say it is pitch black so check the triggers. For me it was fine; within there are gruesome elements, 🍇 (a lot of), CSA, mafia, violence, m^*der, dare I say love because I’m not sure 🤣, and a whole lot more, see this story just gets in your head and messes it around, it is definitely one you’d have to read it to determine yourself. I liked the inclusion of Russian dialect, it made the narrative feel more realistic. Just one point Lissa’s first language isn’t English, which obviously didn’t stop me from finishing it and loving it.

⚠️ Spoiler-free review! Trust me when I say this is one of those books that's best to go into completely blind. The less you know, the better, because it will shock the hell out of you.
Broken Doll by Lissa R. Rynn absolutely blew me away.
This is a pitch black romance that isn't afraid to push boundaries. It's dark... super dark, heartbreakingly emotional, deliciously spicy, and completely addictive from beginning to end. The abuse the poor FMC endures is absolutely heartbreaking, and there were moments that genuinely made my chest ache for her.
James has my whole heart... if you know, you know. 🖤
I also loved that this story dared to do something different with its ending. It delivers an unconventional HEA... or maybe, for me, a no HEA at all 😂. It was bold, unexpected, and has had this story living rent-free in my head ever since I finished.
If you love morally black characters, pitch black romance, high spice, and stories that aren't afraid to rip your heart out while keeping you utterly obsessed, this one needs to be on your TBR.
I can't wait to read this author's upcoming books! 🖤

I absolutely loved this book!!! I could not put it down!!! The things Annika has gone through during her life are traumatic, disgusting and horrendous. I thought the way this book was written did the story itself justice. I loved how we would would bounce back and forth from how Annika was raised to what she is doing in her adult life now. I highly highly recommend checking the trigger warnings. This book is pitch black, so be warned.
