There’s something exciting about discovering a new author, especially when their very first book leaves you immediately wanting more.

Julio was my introduction to Nate McGuire, and what a way to step into the fictional world of Chester Heights.

Even though this is a novella, it never felt incomplete. Instead, it does exactly what an introduction should do—it gives readers just enough to become invested while leaving plenty of room to explore what’s coming next.

Julio is a character standing at a crossroads, and watching him navigate the choices placed before him made for an engaging read. The story moves quickly without sacrificing character development, and the pacing kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next.

Just when I thought I had everything figured out, Nate McGuire reminded me not to get too comfortable. Those final chapters completely shifted my expectations and left me needing book two immediately.

If this novella is any indication of what’s ahead for Chester Heights, I can’t wait to see where this series goes next.

When trying to be everything your father wasn’t causes you to become exactly who you thought you were trying not to be.

Julio Guerrero finally meets the man he came from. Their first encounter is anything but grand, but missing eighteen years of your son’s life will do that. As if Julio doesn’t already have enough to process, more unexpected problems begin surfacing. How will he handle the chaos unfolding around him? We shall see…

Author Nate McGuire delivers a gripping novelette that pulls you in from the very first page. I only wish it were longer and that the full-length novel was already available. I’ll be patiently waiting to see how everything unfolds.

ARC E-Book: Julio story starts off with some drama! When his daddy (Breeze) shows up more drama unfolds! Julio’s story got plot twist after plot twist & when the other characters are brought into the story the PLOT THICKENS!

P.S. This was a quick 43 page read but it still brought all the drama, messiness, & maybe a ⚰️ or two🫢

So Good!

Author Nate McGuire dropped this short novelette and the action was there from page 1. This is a page turner that will get you hooked, it’s drama, baby mama drama, family drama all wrapped up in one.

The author skillfully shows how Julio is navigating his personal life and his street life and how he is internally struggling with his decisions.

This is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5) star must read and highly recommend.

Definitely some potential here

Too much too fast and too short, but I guess I’d part two answers all of the questions it can develop into a good story. I already dislike several characters so hopefully they develop as well.

Now Nate knows how to pull you into a fast paced story, reel you in with messy good drama and then leave you on a cliffhanger wanting more. I’m so mad cause it was getting good now I gotta wait for part 2
