I was glued to this book from the moment I started reading it. Book released today I finished today!!!! seriously could not put it down. 10/10000000! 😂 The message at the beginning of the book immediately stood out to me because I could tell it came from a personal place. I also loved that lupus was acknowledged throughout the story. As someone who lives with lupus myself, it meant a lot to see that representation. You don’t always see the pain from the outside, but behind the scenes, we’re fighting battles people don’t realize. The hospital scene especially hit home for me because it felt so realistic. There are so many times when people with lupus aren’t listened to or aren’t taken seriously during a flare. I know that wasn’t the main focus of the story, but it was one of the moments that stuck with me the most.
Now, let’s talk about the opening because it hooked me immediately. From the very first chapter, I was invested and needed to know what happened next. Landon and Camille’s relationship was everything. I loved watching their journey from beginning to end, and Landon’s character development throughout the book was one of my favorite parts. Without spoiling anything, I’ll just say this: Landon did not play about Camille. 🥹 I loved how he always made sure she was taken care of, and I also loved that even when they were upset with each other, you could still feel how much they cared.
And the ending… OH. MY. GOODNESS. 😭😭 I was so satisfied! Without giving away too much, the wedding scenes had me laughing multiple times. 😂 Especially one particular moment involving Landon… if you’ve read it, you know exactly what I’m talking about! I also loved the family dynamic, Camille and Landon’s friendship, Camille’s friend group (the Coven!), and getting to see her life as a wedding planner. Everything came together so well. I honestly wish I could get a Part 2. I don’t even know what it would be about—I just want more time with these characters because I loved them that much. I LOVED THIS BOOK! I finished it in less than a day, and I already want to read it again.

I received an ARC copy of The Long Way Back to You, and these are my honest thoughts.
I absolutely loved the longing in this book. That was my favorite part. It was such a feel-good slow burn, and every emotional moment felt earned instead of rushed.
One of my favorite things was seeing wealthy Black characters represented this way. You don’t see generational Black wealth portrayed often in Black romance, and I loved that Camille wasn’t just successful—she came from legacy wealth while still building an incredible career of her own. Usually, the male lead is the only wealthy one, but this book flipped that dynamic, and I really appreciated it.
also loved the wedding planner aspect of the story. It made the romance feel fresh, and with it being wedding season
Landon won me over with his actions. The fact that he kept showing up for Camille’s family even when Camille wasn’t around spoke volumes. It showed that his love for her never disappeared, even during the years they were apart. Those little moments meant so much because they showed instead of just told.
I also loved that the romance wasn’t rushed. The author took her time with Camille and Landon’s journey, and because of that, the emotional payoff at the end was so worth it. Their relationship felt earned, and that made the ending even more satisfying. My recommendation? Read this book while listening to the playlist that goes with it. It makes the experience even more immersive and adds so much to the emotions throughout the story.

I’m not even going to lie… I’ve loved everything Lezlie has written so far, and she has not disappointed me once. I honestly can’t wait to see what she writes next!
This book took me on such an emotional roller coaster. 😭😭😭 I laughed, I got frustrated, I got emotional… I felt everything, and I loved every minute of it.
Camille and Landon’s relationship had me invested from beginning to end. There were also a few plot twists I honestly didn’t see coming, and I loved that!
One thing I really appreciated was how the romance was handled. I loved that Camille wasn’t forced to choose between two people just for the sake of creating drama. Instead, there was a genuine reason why one relationship wasn’t meant to work. I hate when authors make one love interest suddenly become a terrible person just to make the main couple make sense. This book didn’t do that, and I appreciated it so much.
I honestly wish there was more because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these characters. 😭 This book was everything I love about romance. It had the emotions, the chemistry, the friendships, and an ending that felt completely earned.

First and foremost, I love discovering indie authors because their stories always feel different from the traditional romance narrative. They tend to take more risks, have unique plot twists, and create stories that stand out. Because of that, I always try to leave reviews for indie authors whenever I can.
After finishing The Long Way Back to You, I already know I’ll be checking out this author’s other books.
One of my favorite things about this story was the character development. Camille was such a refreshing female lead. I loved that she wasn’t just a wedding planner—she also had a background in fashion design and was incredibly knowledgeable when it came to legal matters. I enjoy reading about successful women, and seeing a Black woman who excelled in multiple areas of her life was something I really appreciated. On top of that, her family’s generational wealth was refreshing to see because we don’t get enough representation like that in romance.
When I first met Landon, I honestly liked him… then I found out about you know who, and I was low-key mad. 😂 But as the story progressed, I appreciated that he truly recognized where he had gone wrong. He didn’t just apologize—he put in the work to earn Camille back, and I loved that she made him earn every bit of her forgiveness. She never compromised her self-respect, and I admired that.
I also have to say this book took me on an emotional roller coaster near the end. I won’t spoil what happened, but one particular chapter had me in my feelings. 😭
One thing I really appreciate about Lezlie Elisha’s writing is that her characters feel like real people. She’s not afraid to let her male main characters be vulnerable, express their emotions, and wear their hearts on their sleeves. I loved seeing Landon fight for the woman he loved without letting pride get in the way.
And don’t even get me started on Bianca… 🫥
The moment I completely fell in love with this story was when Landon basically decided, “I don’t care what’s going on, I’m still going to be there for you.” 😭 That moment sealed it for me. I also loved that Camille never allowed Bianca’s actions to pull her out of character. She handled every situation with so much grace and maturity—better than I probably would’ve. 😂
If you’re looking for a Black romance with memorable characters, emotional moments, family, second chances, and a hero who’s willing to fight for the woman he loves, I definitely recommend picking this one up.

At first, I was low-key mad at Camille because of how she was acting toward him. 😭 I was like, Girl, it can’t be that bad for you to stop talking to your best friend that you’ve known for 30 years! Then I found out why… and I was like, Oh… okay. Yeah, I get it.
But Landon? Whew. I loved his character from beginning to end because of the way he loved Camille through his actions. There are a couple of moments I don’t want to spoil because readers deserve to experience them for themselves, but just know his actions spoke louder than words.
Now let’s talk about Bianca… because the moment I met her, I knew something was off. I couldn’t put my finger on it at first, but she gave me “I want the status more than the husband” vibes. And when you find out what she did… you’re going to be just like I was. 🤯 Like… excuse me?? You did WHAT? With WHO?!
There was one scene that had me sitting there like, Awww… finally! 😭 That moment was so well earned, and I loved that Landon kept proving himself through his actions instead of just saying the right things.
I also loved reading this with the playlist. Listening to the songs while reading some of the emotional chapters made everything hit even harder. There were definitely a few moments that had me tearing up. When you’ve held back how you really feel about someone for years, and then everything finally comes out… whew. That hit me.
And don’t even get me started on Landon showing up at Camille’s house drunk while she had another man there. 😭😭😭 I was STRESSED!

There really aren’t a lot of romance books centered around wedding planning, and I loved that this story was also unapologetically Black-centered. It felt authentic, and that made the reading experience even more special.
One of my favorite parts of this book wasn’t just the romance—it was the families. The Sunday dinners, the conversations, and all of the moments spent together made everything feel so warm and nostalgic. It felt like I was sitting right there with Camille and her loved ones. Those scenes gave the story so much heart.
I also loved Camille. She’s confident, ambitious, and carries herself with so much boss energy. Watching her journey unfold was just as rewarding as the romance itself.
What I appreciated most was the pacing. This book never rushed the relationship just to get the couple together. Instead, we got to watch Landon grow, mature, and truly understand what love required. Every chapter built toward an ending that felt earned, and that payoff made the journey worth it. I’m so glad the author didn’t force everything into a shorter story because taking the time to develop the characters made all the difference.
There was also a surprise later in the book that I absolutely loved. I won’t spoil it, but it was one of those moments where everything came together perfectly.
My only small disappointment is that I wish the playlist had stayed in the final version. The ARC I read included it, and I thought the songs matched the story beautifully and added another layer to the reading experience.

This was everything I’ve been looking for in a romance.
I finished this book in less than a day because once I started, I genuinely did not want to put it down. Camille and Landon had me frustrated, laughing, heartbroken, and rooting for them the entire time. They are BOTH stubborn, which made their story even better because neither one of them was innocent when it came to how they ended up where they were.
What I loved most, though, was that the romance wasn’t the only thing happening. Camille had her own life, career and goals, and Landon had his. I got the wedding planning, their families, their history, and probably one of my favorite parts of the whole book — the friend group. I loved seeing a group of successful Black friends who actually felt like friends. The friendships and family relationships made the story feel so much bigger than just Camille and Landon getting back together. I’ve been struggling to find romances that really pull me in because so many feel predictable or like the romance is the entire plot without enough development outside of it. This didn’t feel like that at all. It had yearning, friendship, family, laughter, heartbreak, growth and falling in love. It honestly gave me the feeling of watching one of those Black romance movies from the early 2000s that you can watch over and over again.

Honestly, I couldn’t stand her the moment she was introduced. 😭😭 I’m not going to spoil anything, but let’s just say my first impression of her was absolutely correct. As for Landon… whew. 😭 At first, I low-key wanted to punch him a few times. If you know, you know. 😂 But by the end of the book, I was 100% Team Landon. I know there are men who really act like that in real life, but trust me… you’ll understand why I changed my mind when you get there. Can we also talk about Camille’s friend group?! I LOVED them! Every single one of them had successful careers, and I loved seeing a group of Black women thriving. Ivy being a therapist, Kendall working in cybersecurity, and Jade owning her own PR firm… I absolutely loved that representation. This is definitely a romance I could get behind. Nothing about the ending felt rushed. It was earned, and that made it so much more satisfying. And that bonus at the end?! 😭 I was so happy! I won’t spoil it, but just know it was the perfect way to wrap everything up.

I started with The Space Between Us and as soon as I finished I immediately had to see what else this author had written 😭 and this did NOT disappoint. First of all, RICHHHHH MCs!!! 😂 I love reading about successful Black characters living GOOD and the luxury in this book gave me everything I wanted. Camille and Landon had me smiling, frustrated, laughing and lowkey emotional because you could really feel all that history between them. I also loved the family and friend dynamics because everybody felt like they belonged in the story. And Landon?? Once that man was all in, he was ALL IN 😭😂❤️ I just loved the entire feel of this book. Definitely one of my favorites.
