When the elders imprisoned Metis, they took every precaution to protect the Estilorian plane against her evil.
It wasn’t enough.
Now she’s escaped, and no one is safe. Fueled by hatred, she wastes no time imposing vengeance on those who captured her. She knows the surest way to destroy their lives is by taking what they love most, and she begins with a child named Eden.
Years later, Eden remembers none of her former life. She serves her “Master,” unaware of the family still searching for her. But as her eighteenth birthday approaches, memories begin to surface, and she questions her circumstances for the first time.
Eden’s confusion mounts when she’s joined by Connor, a handsome Elphresti male who reveals things that shatter her reality. They’ll end up on the run, knowing they can trust only each other. After all, Metis will stop at nothing to get them back, and she thrives on her ability to deceive.

Well, I’m sad to say that it is bitter sweet that I am coming to the end of Raine Thomas’ fabulous series, The Estilorians. The characters have grown on me and it was great to see their children and grand children flourish.
Each book expands on Raine Thomas’s fantasy world. Even though the characters live in a fantasy world, they have real world problems they also have to deal with. At times I wanted to shout, “Talk to him/her.”
The action is non stop. They had kept Metis imprisoned for thirteen years. Now she’s out and with her powers she will wreak havoc on the Estilorians world. At times the suspense was off the charts.
This series is complete and I believe it needs to be read in order. It is sure to entertain and Raine Thomas’ ability to create a world in vivid detail with characters that can become your friends, this fantasy series is a must read.
Thanks, Raine, for the opportunity to read and review your fabulous stories.
What can I say about this long awaited Estilorian novel? The Daughters of Saraqael Trilogy introduced me to Author Rain Thomas! I fell in love with her strong, feisty heroines and the protective and handsome men that loved them.
It was so good to see the familiar names of Tate, Zachariah, Gabriel, Sky, Amber and all the others. I loved hearing of the beauty of Central and I smiled when reading of the Unicorn and Its enchanted grove.
Yes, truly the Estilorian series is one of my favorites from Ms. Thomas. So when I started reading Deceive, I entered with happiness enjoying the familiar world, but nostalgia disappeared as I fell into Eden’s story.
I believe Eden has become one of my most favorite characters in the Estilorian world along with her Connor. Never have I read of such heartache, and abuse being suffered by a character; but coupled with such ingenuity, strength and courage as in Eden— a.k.a. “Scout.
Having been torn from her family, Eden was tortured and treated as less than a person—a pet. She maintained her compassion for others, her wisdom and ability to craft such incredible devices which saved herself and Connor. I cannot say how much I adore Eden truly.
Connor, I adore just as much, his protectiveness, gentleness proved exactly what the doctor ordered for Eden, her perfect match.
Ms. Thomas created a story with characters so vivid, so real to me it was as if I was in the same room as them.
Metis, I have so many emotions running through my mind, regarding this character—anger being primary lol! First, she tortured and abuse Eden and stripped away the girl’s identity—calling her Pet.
So yes, I desired to hate her. Period. But Rain Thomas is such a Master of Storytelling, I could not outright hate her, there was also pity in the mix. Even though Metis tortured Eden, it seemed part of her had affection for her as well. Also Metis, a victim herself— in her own highly confused way, attempted to build her own family through her pets and creations.
But most of all Metis was truly, actually insane. The author created incredible images which brought home the depth of the darkness which gripped the woman.
The story was well written, full of action—on the edge of your seats including nail biting moments!
Incredible, emotion provoking images, it is rare that I cry while reading a story. Yes, I feel sadness, anger or righteous indignation for the characters I grow to love, but to actually cry—well it’s rare.
But in this story I did. But there was also humor and celebration as well!
I fully recommend Deceive for those that enjoy fantasy, paranormal or who have followed the Estilorians. Also, if new to the series, then I suggest going back and starting your journey with Book One in the Daughters of Saraqael Trilogy.
Ms. Thomas is undoubtedly one of my favorite authors…and this is one of my favorite series! With each new installment, I am once again transported into a fantastic world of adventure, good vs. evil, and true love that conquers all. It’s hard to believe that after all these stories, each book can feel fresh and new, but, once again, I was drawn into the story from the very beginning and happily fell in love with new characters while visiting with the ones I already adore.
In this book, we’re treated to the next generation of Estilorians…the grandchildren of the characters we came to love in the first installments of this series. I love that we still have the opportunity to see what’s going on in everyone’s lives yet the adventures have taken on new and unexpected turns. In this story, the evil they face is even more devious and demented than those in the past and, yet, the romance is still a part of the plot. I loved Eden and Connor from the very beginning. They’re both strong, smart characters who face adversity head-on. Their connection was strong and their chemistry was undeniable. Their tenacity helps them move forward from situations that seem insurmountable and their relationship provides part of the strength they need. The secondary characters we meet here are also great. My new favorite is Finn and I’m hoping that Ms. Thomas will give us a peek into his life soon…at least a novella so that I can get to know him better! :)
This is probably not a book you can pick up and read as a stand-alone. There is too much of this world that you may not understand. But, this is definitely a series that is worth every minute you devote to it. The creativity that has gone into building the Estilorian world and defining it’s occupants will bring a smile to your face and will ensure that you’re transported into an epic fantasy every time you open the cover to one of these great books. I can’t wait to see what happens next!!

I was so excited when I got to see the cover for the Estilorian Novel Deceive, and even more excited when I was able to get a copy before it came out to read.
Deceive - Masterly written by Raine Thomas. This was an amazing story where the story starts off from Matis excaping from her prison and set on revenge for 13 years of impresiment. they took every precaution to protect the Estilorian plane against her evil. But, they did not expect her to excape.
Zachariah is the elder of Mercesti and the Father of Eden who was taken at a young age by the evil Metis after her excape. Eden served her Master for years and endoured sever punishments for 15 years. Eden remembers none of her former life.
I have chills just thinking about this book. There are moments in this book that will make you want to scream, cry, and just get on the emotional rollercoaster that is so brilliantly written.
The book has Action, romance, and will leave you on your seat while you are reading it to get to the next page. Raine Thomas transports you to another world that feels so real, that you want to be apart of it yourself. Such a strong, and loving world, but also has its evils, but the bonds she creates are simply amazing. Amazing book, this is one I can and probably will read over and over again!!
I friggin loved this book so very much. Raine Thomas is a genius. Her characters are incredible and real, the villian is someone you could love to see suffer and her heroes are heart thieves. I fell head over heels for Connor and Eden and I was on the edge of my seat every step of their very difficult journey. I think they are still residing in my heart as I write this. This novel is Ms. Thomas' s 7th Estilorian novel and according to my humble opinion her best yet. I am hoping that it isn't her last one as my "trips" to her world have become my favourite place to be. Get this book now, you WILL thank me.
This story in The Estilorian Series, held me from the beginning. It is, in my opinion, the best of the series as well. Emotions all over the place, well developed characters, and a story line that kept me turning the pages is just part of how I felt while reading this. As much as I loved the entire Estilorian Series, this was my absolute favorite of them. A story well worth reading!
I have read and enjoyed all the books in this series and I'm glad I did. I loved Eden and Connor and it was fun revisiting old friends as well as meeting new ones. I'm going to keep an eye out for future works and I anyone who likes action, fantasy, and romance should read this series.
