2.5 stars - I'm pretty disappointed with this one particularly as I'm a Nicole fan. I know this was a novella, but it lost me with I Love You after 24 hours of knowing each other. Big tough gangsters don't say I love you and talk kids after one night, no matter the situation or drama ! I just couldn't buy it - maybe I expected more ?

Spoiler Ahead This was a pretty good read. Cassidy Owens is on the run when her brother Jordan gets in trouble with a loan shark they come after her so she runs. Isaiah Fontenot is doing a job for his boss mafia Don Maximillian Adorite find Cassidy and keep her safe. This was the first book in a new series from one of my favorite author's and it was a really good start. Cassidy is not sure she should trust Isaiah or his twin brother Micah at first although she is pretty sure that Micah doesn't like her. Isaiah falls for her the first time he see's her after she talks to Max and his wife Courtney she relaxes she knows that she is attracted to him. When the three of them go to her apartment to look for clues to help find her brother and get her some clothes and all hell breaks out and Isaiah proves why he is in the mob. When Cassidy makes her move on Isaiah and it was hot I mean shower sex at the first hook up. Although this book was a novella I wanted more of a backstory on each of these character's and although we got some of the twins story the book really didn't go into Cassidy's story. This book was well written all of Nicole's books with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This is a quick hot read. NE is always a top favourite. I like this spin off because I can never get enough of her serious'. This insta love thing didn't do it for me...in love after one day? Living together after two days? I don't know about that, that's why the 4 starts and not 5. I am hoping that Micah is up for the next book, I want to know more about him!

What happens in Vegas...not always what you expect! Cassidy is trying to hide from the men looking for her brother, and thinks she is doing a good job of it. When she is found by Isaiah with little difficulty, she knows she is in trouble, but he maintains he is there to protect her. But is she safe with a man that works for the mafia? The have instant passion and as he is keeping her safe, he is also keeping her warm in his bed. I loved this story, it was short, yet full of suspense, alpha male protectiveness and hot scenes. There is a way to incorporate character development as well as an intricate plot in a short story, and Nicole Edwards nails it in this one. I enjoyed the banter, the protectiveness, and the brotherhood of the men that work with Isaiah. A good quick listen.
These characters need to be brought to life with a stern yet compassionate alpha male and Tor Thom is the perfect choice for this. He gives each character their own style, easy to discern and you can tell who is in charge. Charley Ongel as Cassidy gives her strength and vulnerability, and a little sass to make her character very real and believable. A great listen!

~~I reviewed my personal copy of this book for Wicked Reads~~
I always enjoy reading Ms Edwards' books - and have had this one and the next one in the series sitting on my Kindle waiting for a quiet moment. They were a perfect indulgence in hot, naughty and super sexy stories. I have not read the connected books in the Southern Boy Mafia series, but it didn't matter, I enjoyed the Mafia elements anyway.
As long as you can go with the instant connection, which does makes sense given the situation, then this is a totally engrossing read. I liked the underlying plot, although it took very much a second string to the boiling heat between Isaiah and Cassidy. I was convinced there was more to the Devil's Playground Club, but there was plenty of action in Isaiah's penthouse, so I did not feel any disappointment. There is a touch of domination, but really this is just super hot.
If you have a shortish window of time, but want a sexy read, then this will deliver. If you have time to read Without Restraint too, then you will be very satisfied!

Looking for a quick read full of action and bad boys? Look no further! Without Regret is the first book in a new series of novellas from Nicole Edwards. This is also a spin off from the Southern Boy Mafia series. In this first book we are introduced to Isaiah and Cassidy. Isaiah is one of the club owners of the Las Vegas night club Devil's Playground and also works for Max Adorite of the Southern Boy Mafia. He has been asked to protect Cassidy after her brother got in debt with the wrong people. Things get hot and heavy when Isaiah finds he is attracted to Cassidy. The sex scenes are hot too! I truly enjoyed the story line and I'm looking forward to more from this series. I love how Nicole's series intertwine with each other so you are always getting glimpses of characters from the other books. You can read this book as a stand alone however I do recommend reading Wait for Morning and Beautifully Brutal first as some of the characters are mentioned here. ***I received this book complimentary from the author in return for my honest review***

Nicole Edwards I would love to visit your head for a while. Between the Walkers and Now the Southern Boy Mafia you have some hot as all hell men living up in there. HUM HUM HUM! This novella introduces us to the Devils Playground part of the Southern Boy Mafia enterprises... The Vegas branch.
I highly suggest that you read Beautifully Brutal first so you understand the workings of Max and Courtney. I think that it would help you understand more the way things more and how quickly people jump and do their bidding in this book if you know the back story of Beautifully Brutal.
Isaiah and Cassidy's is fast paced an partially because it is a novella and partially because it is a spin of Beautifully Brutal you should know some of the back story already. As with Sniper 1, Beautifully Brutal and Now Devils Playground these series are all inter mixed and will continue to be great reads like all of Nicole Edwards books. I was really surprised that i liked Cassidy so much. I am really not a fan of female leads but she was so NOT annoying or upity or bi***y at all.. I really liked her a lot! Issiah was pretty hot but i have to say, Micah has intrigued me. hes got a story to tell and i really really want to hear it, whispered in my ear, on satin sheets .... oh i mean yeah hes kinda cool ~~~

I don't know how, but with each book, they just keep on getting better and better! Without Regret is a short, steamy, and sexy read. Isaiah and Cassidy come together quickly and set each other worlds on fire. Their action packed whirlwind romance had me wanting more with each turn of the page.

Very cute...insta-love...short read and I loved it. I probably should have read Beautifully Brutal first because it kind ruins what happens in the end for me...but who cares, ill still enjoy it. Isaiah was all kinds of sexy,...and to have a twin brother...whewwwww...im fanning myself over here. I cant wait to read about his brother Micah.

Isaiah and Cassidy are plain and simply HOT!! This is a spinoff of Nicole's Southern Boy Mafia series and a novella, You don't have to read Beautifully Brutal or Wait For Morning first but I would suggest it since it has some of the same characters in it. A great novella about living and loving "Without Regret"!

as expected Nicole did not disappoint Without Regret is a great start to the Devils Playground series and as with all things written by Nicole Edwards I am "patiently" waiting for what's to come next.

I loved everything about this book, it captured my attention right from the start and held it straight to the end. Nicole Edwards is one of my favorite authors, I enjoy her writing style and while this is one of her shorter works she till managed to fit a lot of story into it. Isaiah Fontenot runs the Devil’s Playground, a Vegas nightclub owned by mafia boss Maximillian Adorite. Max assigned him another job, to find and safeguard Cassidy Owens. Cassidy was trying to help her brother who owed money to the wrong people, he went into hiding but these men will stop at nothing to get their money including going after her. While Cassidy tried to lose Isaiah and Micah, his brother she finally learned to trust them. I loved how everything played out, there is drama, action, some thrilling suspense and some hot romance, the chemistry between Cassidy and Isaiah is smoking hot and so is their loving. Nicole Edwards, thank you for another great story!
I listened to the Audible edition, Tor Thom & Charley Ongel are fabulous narrators and voice artists. They bring these characters to life, give each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart and passion they put into their work as they project the emotions & passion of the characters into their performance, an amazing duet performance. They are talented and entertaining storytellers and always a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen🎧

Without Regret was a quick read with some downright steamy scenes. Cassidy finds herself on the run when her brother lands himself in some trouble and she ends up having some scary guys after her. She ends up in the protection of Isaiah and his brother Micah who are part of the mafia, who were hired to find her and keep her safe. I found the book interesting and was wanting to figure out what was going on with Cassidy's brother and why he was in trouble and what was going to happen when he was found.
The chemistry between Isaiah and Cassidy was palpable from the start and there was some definite insta-lust, which led to insta-love, which I admit, I am not a huge fan of. The book was steamy and the chemistry was hot, and I was ok with their attraction throughout the book, but the insta-love towards the end of the book had me cringing a bit if I am being honest, and is probably my one big critique of the book, as I just don't think it was necessary to the story.
Overall I did find the story to be engaging and enjoyable and look forward to reading more from this author and more in this series.

I love mafia stories. Even though this was short, it had everything I have come to expect in a mafia book.I love the twist of the sister hiding because of the acts of her brother. The mafia alpha being her protector. It made the story fun and different to read. These two really hit it off, and the main struggle is that Cassidy wants him, yet is unsure if she can trust him. Isaiah is torn with his job and his new found love. I love the banter and tension between them. It made the story come to life. I look forward to more in this series. This was a great introduction that left me wanting more.
Tor Thom and Charley Ongel were perfect for this book. Tor has the perfect voice for a rough, alpha male. He made Isaiah the strong character he was meant to be. The narrators did a great job on this hot and sexy novella! If you like a short but hot and sweet story that includes insta everything because of it's length, you'll love this. The story was decent although short. Once Isaiah & Cassidy's lives clash because he is asked to protect her by his boss, that sets off their destiny. I love how truly protective he feels for her so soon after meeting her like fate had a plan for them for sure. This quickie packs a seriously sexy steamy punch!!

Even though this story is short it is packed with lots of action and very sexy interaction. Cassidy needs to help her brother. And she meets Isaiah. It was almost as if a bomb went off. The attraction was off the charts. But first things first, save her brother if possible. Then who knows ...........

Although I enjoyed the story, I could have taken it or left it.
What I am really excited for is the next book in the series, the one his twin and how his story goes. That one sounds like it will be too good to miss.

It was a good short story. The events develop in a fast pace that doesn't make the book boring and keeps your attention.
The narrattion of Tor Thom and Charley Ongel is what makes the book better and the voices were really good according to each character.

I enjoyed the story of how Cassidy and Isaiah meet but I wasn't completely sold on the erotic parts of the story. It sounded well written and the narrators did a good job, but it just wasn't coming together right for me. That's just my personal taste. Judging by the other reviews, it's pretty hot!

I was a little surprised by this one as it did not feel like the Nicole Edwards Novels i am used to reading. This was more of a quick Steamy read. I would have liked a little more character development but all in all, it was still a good read.

Absolutely love Nicole Edwards
Nicole has a way of making her stories suck you in and become a part of them. I haven't read the other series that this is a spin off from - but will now. This is a stand alone book! But here characters do intertwine in series.

No regrets...
I have no regrets in purchasing this book. It is short and sweet. Not long winded or dry and full of a bunch of unnecessary big words. I find Isaiah and his twin Micah interesting and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series! 😍
