It should’ve been the end for the young Queen Etoile. When her beloved husband, Isar, cuts her down as the enemy invades, it seems she is destined for a miserably short reign. Instead, she awakens five years in the past. Armed with knowledge of what’s to come, she now has the ultimate opportunity: fix her mistakes, take back everything that was stolen from her, and enact sweet revenge on her would-be betrayers! The powers that be won’t let an upstart royal act with impunity, however. Malicious forces attack from every angle, and it soon becomes clear that Etoile isn’t the only one that remembers the past. Can Etoile tame the flow of time and find true happiness? Or is she doomed to the fate that has already once consumed her?
When she is the queen at 17, she is betrayed by her political husband and his secret lover, the Saintess and the queen’s tutor. Her husband legit runs a sword through her chest. He has political clout, as does the Saintess and both are about ten years older than she is.
The knight who loves her then sacrifices his life to turn back time to save her. They go back five years, to where she is 12. They are the only two who know they went back in time.
So instead of hiding her hatred and disgust for the two adults who have more political power then she currently has as a 12 year old, instead of being sneaky and devious and undermining them in secret, she lets her hatred show for all to see.
I get it, she’s 17 and has no idea how to do much of anything, but surely self-preservation would step in at some point? Common sense? SOMEthing?!?
I can’t with the MC h being so gung-ho to die before she is 13. DNF at 34%.
1, in real life she would be dead sooner in this loop as she really is TSTL, star.

This isn't anything new, and the writing's a bit all over the place. But it's also a remarkably satisfying revenge story that isn't excessively mean, and I quite liked that.
This 4 stars is contingent on this book being a solo product, uninvolved with a series of works. Should there be a volume 2 in the future, please consider this a 2 stars work.
A young queen of a country on the verge of collapse due to a long war with an aggressive neighbour is murdered by her new husband, but wakes up a few years in the past. Once she realizes what is going on, she sets out to change things for the better.
What follows is a fairly standard villainess story. She struggles a bit more with how to deal with the situation than is typical and we know why the time loop happened (and that is very likely a one time thing). It makes for an interesting start. The issue though is that things move at a breakneck speed and her earlier stumbling and the time loop magic has little to no actual consequences. For me that is a bit of a disappointment, because that would set it apart from most of stories in this subgenre.
So, all in all, some solid ideas which lacks a bit in the execution and as a result is rather average.
