The Omega Switch #2

The Omega Switch: Part 2

The truth set me free. It also brought my rejected pack back into my life.

The truth is finally out. After a devastating event that tore me down, I built myself back up and have learned that a pack isn't everything.

After leaving my family behind, I've built a quiet life filled with loyal friends and a business that's finally mine. Every day proves I was stronger than the people who spent years convincing me I was nothing.

I don't need Pack Vale anymore.

Unfortunately, they need me.

Pack Vale found out what really happened, and they are determined to come back and make things right. But I'm even more determined not to forgive. They swear they'll never fail me again.

They're too late - or at least, that's what I keep telling myself.

Because while they're trying to earn my forgiveness, my family is doing everything they can to destroy the life I've built. Between lawsuits, public scandals, and secrets that refuse to stay buried, walking away from the men I once loved isn't nearly as simple as I thought.

This time, they don't just have to fight for me. They have to prove they're worth choosing. Because one thing I will never allow is for someone to break my trust again.

The Omega Switch Part 2 will conclude the duet. This book will have plenty of angst, groveling, scenting, MFMM spice and a happily ever after.

After the cliffhanger of part 1 in this duet I could not wait to dive into part 2, and thankfully I waited and read the first part just a couple days before the release of part 2. Obviously you shouldn’t read this one before part 1 because it’s a continuation of the plot and characters but in this part we finally get the healing, groveling, spice, and HEA.

Ivy went through so much in part 1 so it only made sense for this book to take its time and let her heal, I loved that she was away from her abusive family and the pack that denied her. It lets her grow as a character on her own, we even get some time passing which was so necessary. I loved seeing her set up her new business, her home, making friends, finding a safe community to be a part of, and very slowly letting her pack mates back into her life…on her terms. Even the resolution of things with her family was so needed. It felt like all the puzzle pieces of her life slowly healing and coming back together. Hunter, Ronan, and Elias had their own healing to do as well and I just love this duet so much. Filled with emotions and angst and healing and so so good!

4.5 stars. This story is the second half of a duet and the first half needs to be read. It is quadruple POV, well written, and an emotional, omegaverse, reverse harem romance between Ivy, the female scientist lead, and the scent-matched pack that rejected her: Hunter, the male alpha pack lead and businessman, Ronan, the male alpha security business owner lead, and Elias, the male beta physician lead. I applauded the character development for Ivy, including the self-awareness to identify that the rejection had helped her become an independent individual. I enjoyed seeing her establish her own life, pursuing career goals, and determinedly free of pack complications. I enjoyed that Ivy’s absence caused the male leads grief, guilt, and distress, as had been caused to her in the first half. I enjoyed Ronan’s persistent searching and his willingness to abide by whatever boundaries Ivy established, after she was located. I enjoyed Elias’ careful approach and his repentance, both to her and in his other actions. I enjoyed Hunter’s awareness of the significance of his actions and his willingness to absent himself if that was what Ivy needed. I adored the respectful conversations and boundaries which supported Ivy’s continuing independence. I enjoyed the building intimate tension, and the steamy scenes when the moment was right. I adored the vengeance wreaked on Ivy’s abusive family (and wish it was viable in real life). I adored Ivy’s competent confidence by the end, as well as the happy relationship.

It Can Be Read As A Standalone.

I’m not a fan of stories featuring a passive FMC who’s bullied, ridiculed, or victimized. I prefer my heroines to be strong and to give as good as they get. So, I intentionally skipped the first book. The premise of an FMC rebuilding her life, gaining confidence, overcoming her issues, and getting revenge on her “villains” intrigued me. I decided to take a chance and read this book. The author effectively summarized the first book’s story and conveyed the FMC’s emotional turmoil and betrayal through her conversations and internal thoughts. The story was well-paced, and the protagonist’s growth and strength felt realistic. The three male leads were distinct, and their guilt and remorse were believable.

The only real issue I had was the lacklustre ending, which left several questions unanswered. Why did Ivy’s fathers favour a non-related stepdaughter (fathered by other men) over their own biological child? According to evolutionary theory, all species want their offspring to survive so their genes can thrive. It doesn’t make sense for the fathers to want a child with no blood relation to prosper and inherit all the wealth over a biological child they actively abuse, all while plotting for her to fail. It needs to make sense. Another unresolved question is the fate of Ivy’s family and Arabella. As a reader, I want to see how the villains face consequences and if they regret their actions. I really hope Arabella doesn’t get her own story because she’s irredeemable. Justifying her cruelty, manipulation, and behaviour towards Ivy based on abandonment by her birth fathers doesn’t excuse her actions.

Spoiler free ARC review! Thanks so much to the author for providing me with an early copy! Part One was one of my favorite reads of the year and I’ve been anticipating Part Two for months now. If the first was angst overload, then this second is justice overload. It’s so satisfying to see characters heal, learn how to enforce boundaries, and become better people while righting the wrongs of the past. Ivy’s journey feels REAL and not rushed or glossed over, same with her mates. I even felt bad for Arabella, which good job on the author for making that happen. There’s not just GROVEL but GROWTH, which the combination to me feels ideal and something that all rejected mates romances should strive for. The mental health rep was on point. Fair warning, if you primarily read OV for the spice you may be disappointed here as there’s really only one scene. But to me the plot was more powerful and I didn’t really miss the spice. Will definitely be continuing to read her books in the future!

OH MY GOSH!!! After i finished reading The Omega Switch: Part 1, i was seriously on the edge of my seat. It was left on a cliffhanger of Pack Vale discovering the truth. October 2 could not have come quick enough.

Before starting The Omega Switch: Part 2, i have multiple questions running through my head:

• will Ivy forgive Pack Vale?
• will Pack Vale ACTUALLY grovel for forgive?
• will Ivy be a strong female character?

One thing about is that when there’s a second chance romance, the men have to grovel like f-ing dogs to win their women back!!!! and the women have to be strong enough to hold back. Please don't give in too quickly 😭

Pack Vale prove me wrong, they actually did grovel and illustrated through their actions how truly deeply sorry they were. It was very heartfelt 🥹

After Ivy escape her abusive and toxic family, I love how she managed to rebuild her life. She was basically like a phoenix—rising from the ashes. Although, despite all of her hardships, she discover a close-knit group of friends. In a way, they ended up becoming her chosen family. Just cause a person has the same DNA DOES NOT make them family. Everytime her family, especially her fathers, would appear i just want to punch them.

if you love omegaverse, groveling men, and heartfelt romance i highly recommend you read The Omega Switch: Part 2

This is the second part to Ivy's story. And I could not wait to get hold of this. I have been waiting and waiting. And I was not let down at all. This author always has a way to drag you. By the fells and make you enjoy how you don't enjoy it. Which sounds weird, but it's an amazing combination

Ivy who went through hell from her family and who she thought was going to be the loves of her life, left her home and life of misery hoping to try and become something new, if only that was Gaultier and healthier then what she had endured at the band of her so called family.

But Hunter, Ronan, and Elias not having learned of the severity that they had been deceived, moved to try and save Ivy, but found out to late what it had cost.

The story goes on to tell what happens as Ivy tries to put all her feelings into place and debate on what she would do with the three men and how they make her feel now. And what could happen if she let them close, or if she even wanted that.

And I will let you know it was spicy. It was feeling, and every word just kept me glued to the pages

I've been patiently waiting for the rest of Ivy's story. I was not disappointed. Everything crumbled, Ivy, her pack, her family's business. This book is about deciding to grow, rebuild, or ruin.

Ivy not only had to learn how to live on her own, she had to learn just how much she was abused by her family. Her pack fell apart once they learned the truth and their part in it. Her family needed to go.

I'm sure that there are those who will think the story is slow. I don't. It is full of the hard work each of these people have to do after the immediate trauma. This story doesn't shy away from that hard work either.

I liked it. I liked it all. I liked the guilt, the tears, the justice, the growth, the apologies. I liked that the pack listened to Ivy. Heard what she said to them and respected her boundaries.

I do recommend this book.

The Omega Switch Part 2 by Violet Coltair picks up with Ivy building her life on her own terms now. She has cut off her family for good and is determined to stay away from Pack Vale. Pack Vale wants a chance with Ivy, but some things cannot be changed or taken back. They hurt Ivy. I loved seeing Ivy grow and get her confidence. She was so strong and determined, once she cut off all the bad in her life and having people in her corner really helped.

Hunter, Ronan and Elias are devasted over what happened and all they want is another chance, but will they ever get it? They promise to move at her pace and only give what she asks for, but she is finding joy in her independence. But as they slowly stay by her side no matter what, she gets to see who they really are. They feel tremendous guilt over what happened but are just as determined to be what she needs now. I love their second chance and redemption so much. Her family on the other hand were horrible and unbelievable. Ivy is so kind and caring, despite what happened to her. I devoured this duet in 24 hours and highly recommend it!

Happy reading!

I couldn't wait to read the conclusion to this duet! Thankfully, it was a short one. If you've forgotten what went down in book one, Hunter hooks you up with a quick recap on the very first page. Ooh the groveling the mates needed to do in this book...Groveling is subjective and I think the mates groveled in their own way. Although it seems like Ivy is way too forgiving.

Much of the plot centers on the mates making amends while her family continues to cause issues. While it definitely wasn't as angsty as the first book, it was incredibly satisfying to see Ivy find her voice and truly stand up for herself. Additionally, the story offers a great mix of viewpoints from all the pack members, rounding out the perspective nicely.

Now for those interested in spice, it only really happens at the end of the book when she goes into heat. 🌶️🌶️ of 5.

A great conclusion to Ivy's story!

I really enjoyed The Omega Switch: Part 2. After everything Ivy went through, I was happy to see her find her strength again and start making decisions for herself. Her character growth was probably my favorite part of the book.

I also really liked the emotional side of the relationship. There’s plenty of angst, tension, groveling and, of course, spice, but I especially enjoyed seeing the trust between Ivy and Pack Vale slowly being rebuilt. It didn’t feel like everything was magically fixed overnight, which made their relationship much more satisfying for me.

Overall, this was an emotional, dramatic, steamy, and satisfying conclusion to the duet. If you enjoy omegaverse romance with rejected mates and true groveling this is definitely one to check out.

I really enjoyed this after the angst fest of the previous novel. Loved how Ivy began her journey to healing after years of abuse, stepped out of her shell, and grew to become the strong, successful woman she was always meant to be. She stood up for herself and took back everything that was hers from the beginning, all in a way that remained true to her character. Would I have liked more karma for Arabella in particular? Absolutely, but seeking vengeance isn’t who Ivy is.

The grovel and character growth by Pack Vale was believable too. They respected her boundaries, went at her pace, and made sure Ivy had everything at her disposal to thrive despite her family’s machinations. They did everything without expecting forgiveness or reconciliation. Grovel should be rooted in patience and selflessness, and I think the author achieved that.

Loved the ending of this duet ❤️

One of the best omegaverse duets I've read in a long time. I love the hurt/comfort trope and the FMC, Ivy, perfectly balances the need for safety and protection with the ability to be independent, to help herself... she is not weak, she was just told repeatedly that she was, and treated on a way that made her lose confidence in herself. The pack help her build her own strengths back up... they help her become a stronger person on her own. They are there for support, but she is the reason for her victories over her "family". In the end, she didn't really need them to survive... but she wanted them. To me, that is so beautiful 😍.

This was fine. Ivy’s family is cartoonishly evil and it’s almost distracting at times. There is definitely no nuance here at all and I felt like the author was hitting me over the head with the fact the family was awful and Ivy was the victim. I actually skipped half of the first book because it was outlandish to me and wanted to get to the actual character development. I did like the growth for all the MCs and I thought Clara/Arabella’s motivations gave them more depth than I expected.

Definitely needed a solid edit though, because there are several grammatical errors and quite a bit of repetition.

I was so happy to receive an ARC for the sequel to Ivy's story. It was a very satisfactory conclusion, with plenty of grovel from Pack Vale and consequences to her family, although I thought Ivy was too kind after all her family had put her through.

I really liked how Ivy didn't immediately accept the Pack's apologies and she made them work to earn her trust and their combined HEA.

As an aside, I was very intrigued with Evangeline's story and would love to see her story told next 😃

Thank you to the author for the ARC and I can't wait to read her next book.

wasn’t impressed

I DNF, I found this to be boring and dragging. I read the first part of the 1st book and jumped over most and felt
I didn’t miss anything important. This 2nd book isn’t much better. Again I’m jumping over paragraphs and chapters because it’s going no where quick! Like I said boring. I did however appreciate that the F*bomb wasn’t used and the spice was pretty much nonexistent. Would
I read another of this author’s books, no I don’t think so unless I want to fall asleep

This sequel delivered all the grovelling necessary after how book one ended, though I felt this process was a bit drawn out. The character and relationship development was pretty good.

“I think this is the first time I’ve been sick and felt cared for since my mom passed,” I admitted.
Something flashed across his face.
“You should have always felt cared for.”

However, there was a lot of repetition (themes, phrases) and quite a few basic errors (duplicate/redundant words, punctuation, etc.). It needed much better editing, and should have been more concise, but was ok overall.

This book was the perfect ending for Ivy's story. She made sure the men worked for her forgiveness - she didn't easily give in. She managed to change her life for the better, and I am proud of her. Growing up the way she has, it is difficult to break away from all that you've ever known. I am glad she was able to get her happy ending! It definitely was hard-fought.

There were a few parts that felt redundant, but it was nice overall.

I ate this book up! I’m so glad she made them crawl and WOORRRK to get back into her good graces! I loved it! 10/10 would recommend as an excellent groveling duet! I adored watching the character growth in all of them but especially Ivy! So glad I didn’t have to kick rocks at Pack Vale!.

This second part was a healing journey for Ivy. She found her inner strength, her voice, friendships and how to trust herself. It was nice to finally see her get the recognition she deserved and wrongs set right. Although Pack Vale was sorry they all had some growing to do and she did make them work for it.

3.5. Overall it wrapped up better than I expected. I appreciate she toughened up and built a business on her own, a bit of time passed through the story so the ‘I love you’s’ felt more earned and that the drama with her family and the lawsuits was interesting. I was a bit confused when everything seemed to be wrapped up at 80%. It did seem a bit odd there was like no spice for book 1 and 80% of book 2 and then the end of the book is just pretty much her heat.

I’m not a huge fan of what feels like a trend to make every omegaverse a duology. I think they could have cut 1/3 out of each book and made it a more engaging single book but authors have to make their money.

Part two!

I actually really enjoyed this book, it transitioned really well from part one. Throughout part one, I was screaming that those men didnt deserve forgiveness and I would be super mad if she forgave them in part two but then im a sucker for good groveling lol

Really good ending to this series. Highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys binge reading 2 books in 24 hours.. 😅

Worth it!

I'm so glad I was able to finish this series! The second one was just as good as the first, there was spice but it was relegated to a few chapters and was an addition, a welcome one, to the actual plot. Seeing Ivy find her strength in herself and CHOOSING her pack for her own was beautiful.

I loved this! It picks up right where part 1 ended. The groveling was so there! I really enjoyed seeing Ivy grow into a strong woman who knows she can be happy and successful on her own. I will say my favorite mmc was Ronan. I love the strong, protective type 🖤
I would have liked to see more revenge on Arabella but Ivy isn't the type to be vengeful. She just got her well deserved justice.
I can't want to read more books from this author!

such a good duet!

I read both books back to back (I don’t like waiting when there’s cliffhangers lol) and I’m so glad I did!!!!!! I LOVED their story. The first book wrecked me and this book put me back together. So happy to find this author I can wait to read more from her.

I was optimistically hopeful that this conclusion would pull some punches. Unfortunately, it lacked the depth and nuance needed to make it truly impactful. The concept was golden but the execution made this 400+ page story a slog.
