Morgan Falk thought his life was over. He stood up for his brothers and got himself a one way ticket to the Alpha’s personal underground bunker of hell. No one left the bunker alive. Morgan endured six long years of torture and torment at the hands of the Alpha’s sadistic enforcers and a gamma wolf with a sexual attraction to blood. Morgan sincerely thought he would never know a happy moment again, resigning himself to a painful death. All that changed when the bunker door cracked open, bathing the dungeon in sunlight and the smell of his one, true forever mate. Morgan, weak as he was, knew that rescue had come - and they say lives don’t have second acts.
Dr. Nick Barkley had all but given up on finding his forever mate. As doctor for the Rue Pack, he had spent his life on the sidelines, helping others and watching them find their happiness. All of this changed when he looked into a dank underground bunker and found his mate, barely clinging to life. Nick is determined to see his mate happy and healthy again, but six years of torture isn’t something that leaves a person - mental and emotional scars sometimes never heal as our physical body becomes whole again. Can Morgan face his demons and realize true love? Dr. Nick won’t accept anything else.

Rating 3.5 I struggled with whether to round up or round down and I may change my mind later.
This is a solid entry in the series but suffers by being so short. The ideas and issues here are so ripe for exploration that the story would have been much better by expending a little more time on it. I felt the length did disservice to how complicated PTSD can be. I did like how emotional the situation was and really loved the relationships among the brothers.
Morgan had been held prisoner and tortured for six years by enforcers, a gamma, and psychotic, Alpha, of another pack (North pack). He's saved by Nick who is also a doctor. I loved the support, patience, and love, that was given to Morgan which helped to aid in his recovery. I appreciated that this story contained no angst or misunderstandings between the two main characters, making it much more pleasant to read (to me). I was pulled into the story since they seem to be getting better and better, and I'm anxious to read the next book. Well done. =)
OK so I just finished book 7 really enjoyed the story and the characters very rich emotional value loved how strong the gamma Morgan was hope to have more the same in the coming books
Harry and Owen thought that their brother had abandoned them just like their parents did. As it turns out Morgan never abandoned them. He went to the old Alpha to stand up for his brothers. The Alpha did not like that and locked him up. After years and years in a prison type he finally is found after Wilson takes over. The Dr. that is taking care of him turns out to be his Mate. Will Morgan be able to get over the past? Will he be able to be with his Mate and learn to trust?
