𝓐 𝗯𝕠𝙮. 𝕿𝗵𝗮𝕥’𝕤 𝗮𝕝𝕝 𝗵𝗲 𝙬𝗮𝕤. 𝗬𝗲𝕥 𝕤𝕠 𝕞𝕦𝗰𝗵 𝙬𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝕥 𝙬𝗮𝕤 𝕡𝕦𝕥 𝕦𝕡𝕠𝕟 𝗵𝗶𝕤 𝕤𝗵𝕠𝕦𝕝𝗱𝗲𝕣𝕤.
I didn’t know what to expect coming into this book. Yes, I read the blurb and it sounded interesting, but it’s also a fantasy book. Let’s face it guys, you know how fantasy can be. Either really good or really bad😭
The Atherlast. This one did not disappoint. It was well worth my time 🙂↕️
A young boy in a small town. A dangerous mission. Mix the two together? It makes for a very interesting journey.
𝑭𝒆𝒏. Oh my sweet Fen. He has the sweetest soul and the biggest heart. Whenever his uncle disappears, he takes it upon himself to find him. As a boy who has never really left his town, you know from the start, this will not be an easy journey for him to make. From the moment he starts his adventure, I feel like everything goes wrong😭 this kid literally undergoes so much stress i honestly don’t even know how he kept going through the whole book.
And OH MY GOODNESS. The part where he was on his knees crying?!? Did my heart break a little?? Yes, yes it did 🥺🥺 I was so sad for him. I could literally FEEL all the pressure he was holding on his shoulders.
Let’s please just take a moment to acknowledge the love between 𝑨𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒐 & 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒂. Ok, I wouldn’t necessarily call what they had, a relationship, but there were definitely sparks between them 🤩😍 it made me happy. I waited SO LONG for someone to finally say something about it, or for someone to acknowledge the tension and chemistry…..and I FINALLY got it 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 #peak part of the book right there 😏
GUYS. THE END OF CHAPTER 27?!? 😭😭NO SIR-EEE. I WAS SHATTERED. I had to set my phone down and contemplate all life decisions 😔 just….be prepared
The only thing I had trouble with in the book was that it kind of dragged a bit at the beginning. It wasn’t too bad, but it took a few chapters for the pace to pick up.
And, all of the names….if I’m being honest, i definitely made up nicknames for so of the characters just because I couldn’t pronounce them. I wouldn’t even say that’s a bad thing though, because that’s the way it is with most fantasy 😂 In fact, I would be worried if I read a fantasy book and I could pronounce the names without an issue🤪
Overall—> I really did enjoy the Atherlast. It was an interesting story and kept me engaged!! (Which is saying a lot for a fantasy book)
