"Horsfall" is three Jade Buchanan short stories about a menage between one human and two horse shifters. They were written in 2008-2009, so this release through Changeling Press is a rerelease. Author Buchanan skirts the edge between romance and erotica. Each book features at least one menage scene with the last having only one, towards the end, because it's more "serious".
In book one, Oliver Philip,safety consultant arrives at Horsfall ranch, meets Bayard Stoddard. Insta attraction. On the way home, he finds an abused horse chained to a tree. Upon release, the horse shifts to a man. It's Marshall, Baynard's twin brother. Who he also falls in love with.
Oliver's reaction to shifters was very low key. There's sharing issues, Bay doesn't want to. There follows a not quite menage, as the brothers have no feelings for each other and touching is only for Oliver.
Book two is angst city. Oliver is happy, with his two lovers. Marsh is incredibly insecure in where he fits into Oliver's life. Bay is quite the dominant, bossy. But not in a sexy way. Lots of angst, ending with a menage and a HFN-ish.
Book three: Oliver takes a consulting job at a ski resort. Meets crow shifters who warn him the Stoddard brothers are in danger. Does Oliver run home? No. He's inthe middle of an existential crisis. Oliver had a very hard time coming out. Now he's in a relationship with two brothers. Twin brothers. Will the relationship survive away from the ranch?
Oh, clutch my pearls and add a little salt while gnawing the scenery. The story is mostly Oliver. At the ski lodge. Most of this story was like "Moby Dick's" rigging chapters. Unnecessary filler. Was Buchanan paid by the word?
Menage at the end. HEA? I have no idea, I did not care by then.
Not the author for me. Horses are prey shifters, the largest, with hooves. Could have done something interesting with that. The 'danger' felt contrived. The relationship was intense in some spots and blah in others. I would need to be pretty book deprived before I'd consider reading more from this author.

Oliver heads to Horsfall Ranch to design a safety system for it.
Oliver has been asked to create a safety system for Horsfall Ranch even though it does not legally require to have one in place. When he arrives he is met by tall handsome Bayard Stoddard who shows him around and explains what he needs and the Shire horses they have there. Bay is distracted as his twin brother is missing. The story is divided into three parts.

This is a collection of all three short stories in the series. I loved the connection and chemistry between the MMCs, and their shifter origin story was unique.
