Pierce had everything going for him, his future mapped out to serve his country, the girl of his dreams by his side. With one last deployment he thought everything would be set but then everything went wrong, shattering his belief in love in the process. Can he become the man he was before the war left him shattered and broken or will he be defeated forever? Kinlee knew her life would never be the same. Packing up and moving home to help her ailing father seemed like the right choice, but she never expected to see him again. She never thought she would have another shot at happiness.
This was a nice story with a few flaws. As someone who actually works in physical therapy, I just had a hard time with parts of the story, particularly the therapy segments, which made up a lot of the book. I just found so many things wrong that I often wondered what type of research the author did. The plot itself was ok. A lot of telling rather than showing. Perhaps those who don't have a therapy background won't be bothered by the things I was bothered by. Overall, it was ok.
This is a lovely story about second chances, not just at love, but at life too. It is a very realistic story, one that any reader with a degree in heartbreak would love to have for themselves. This characters have struggles and are stuborn but they get to where they need to be.
