I loved the author's other novel, "Decagon House Mystery," and ever since, I've wanted to read "Another," his most well-known creation. It has the kind of odd and scary horror aspects that I like.

I'm not sure if it's just me, or is it a little perplexing. However, the first book only featured four chapters, so I had to read the first one twice before I could understand what was happening.

Since this is only the first volume, we can't really comment on the plot, but I believe it will be alright and I'm eager to find out what happens next.

Непогано. Пощастило, що я не дивилася аніме свого часу, так інтрига зберігається.
Українське видання НЕ віддзеркалене і легко читається. Колись брала російською "Ді", то там була жахлива склейка, щоб розгорнути сторінку, треба було розламати корінець. Тут такого нема. З очевидних факапів: переплутали на обкладинці сценариста і художника ) Усі звуки адаптовано і перемальовано — за це завжди окремий плюсик. Особливості перекладу: суфікси ввічливості (-кун, -сан) збережено, використовується "ші" та "джі", при переході з голосної на "і" зберігається саме "і" (в деяких системах може переходити в "ї"; для порівняння: Роічі та Роїчі).

Сюжет цікавенький, чисто тобі класична японська шкільна містика. Цей шаблон працює так. Є головний герой, який переїжджає з великого міста в маленьке. Він переводиться до місцевої школи, де відбувається щось химерне, засноване на трагічних подіях минулого. Травма, яка перетворилася на моторошну легенду, чи таки реальність? Градус жахастику з кожним розділом наростає. Та наш герой має розплутати не лише місцеву таємницю. Його минуле приховує свої загадки, не менш незручні...

Мальовка мені подобається. Тут одразу потрапляння. В історії прослідковуються відголоски легкого еччі / гарему, але не настільки, щоб викликати незручність.
Сцена з ляльками — просто вау. Дуже-дуже кріпово.
Сюжет поставлений добре. Це не рідкість для горорної чи містичної підліткової манґи, але завжди приємно, коли кожен розділ занурює тебе в історію ще більше.

Одна проблемка — чекати наступних томів українською. "Мольфари" — великі молодці, що взялися за цей проект.

Ця манга є адаптацією прекрасного ранобе, і дуже приємно, що вона з'явилася в Україні. Утім, перший том є лише своєрідним вступом, навіть дещо неповним, і таким чином дає дуже слабку уявлення про те, що чекає читача далі. А далі його насправді чекає неймовірна історія, де автор майстерно грає з ним, кожен раз змушуючи будувати нову теорію того, що відбувається в сюжеті - і кожен раз наче знущатися, кажучі: "Ха, насправді все не так!", при чому робити це цілком "в заданих стартових умовах", нічого не перекручуючи і не створюючи роялів у кущах. І ціх поворотів в сюжеті буде стільки, що вас зачепить і потягне з неймовірною силою просто до самого кінця. Тому шкода, що наразі маємо лише перший том. Сподіваюся, український читач відгукеться копійкою і розкупить наклад, тож ми матимемо продовження)

پدر ساکاکیبارا برای یک‌سری تحقیقات به مدت یک‌سال به هند رفته و مادرش هم چندین سال پیش فوت کرده برای همین هم ساکاکیبارا از توکیو اومده به یومی‌یاما پیش پدربزرگ و مادربزرگ مادری‌اش. اما اون مریض میشه و تو بیمارستان بستری میشه و چند هفته طول می‌کشه حالش خوب بشه؛ تو بیمارستان با دختری ملاقات می‌کنه به نام میساکی که لباس مدرسه‌ای که قراره ساکاکیبارا توش تحصیل کنه تنشه. ساکاکیبارا به مدرسه‌ی راهنمایی شمال یومی‌یاما می‌ره ولی تو مدرسه متوجه رفتار عجیب هم‌کلاسی‌هاش و همچنین معلم‌هاش می‌شه و همچنین متوجه میشه همه با میساکی که تو یک کلاس هم هستن طوری رفتار می‌کنن که انگار وجود نداره و...

Review for the complete series

Another is the manga adapation of Yukito Ayatsuji's hororr novel of the same name. I have not read the novel myself but I feel as though this adaptation does show that it is not the source material. Although it is an all around good work of the genre, there is a slight absensce of the truly eerie atmosphere which I can well imagine was captured more in the original novel.

It is probably more correct to call this a mystery with super natural elements - at least for the manga, I think it is safe to say that the mystery aspect is what drives the story and it is not really scary as such. It is nonetheless an engaging tale that keeps you guessing all the way to the final chapter.

Sakakibara Kouichi is a new transfer student who becomes confronted with the strangeness of his new class. Among other oddities, he seems to be the only one who can see his classmate Misaki Mei. Despite numurous warnings not to engage with the girl who doesn't exist, the two form a friendship which is soon followed by a series of dark incidents. The mystery around why only Kouichi can see Mei and what is causing all these accidents is the main drive of this plot and unravels at a good pace.

I do wish we could have spent more time to get to know Kouichi, Mei and other characters better as, despite the grimm circumstances, I didn't feel all that much for the characters. I wonder if this is another thing that might havce simply worked better in the original novel. That being said, the artwork is gorgeous and well fitting for this kind of story.

I plan to read the sequel novels but I am currently undecided on whether or not I will read the first Another novel as well. While it isn't perfect, I would definitely recommend it as a solid series of this genre.

I never into horror because if it's not creeped me out, it's always made me cringe shamelessly. So yeah.... not into horror.

And. The anime version of this story was out, and then my friends fangirl over it said it was sooooooooo good so I can't help but getting curious and then I decided to buy the DVD and then tada! IT. WAS. HORROR!!

This story was about a boy named Kouichi Sakakibara who got his sickness relapse when he's about to start new semester in his new school, Yamakita school class 3-3. First, some student's reps met him in hospital and act strange, asked him if he was ever in Yamamiya town before, which he never. After that, at night he met a girl with Yamakita's uniform who went to hospital's mortuary to "give something to someone", only to meet that same girl in his class the next day and everybody in class doesn't seem to notice her. The other students said that she, Mei Misaki, was "non-existent" but he didn't believe it. As his meeting with Mei getting often, the students at class 3-3 and their relatives started to die one by one each month due to "the mishap" that happened each year to the class 3-3 residents since 26 years ago.

I like this story's mystery--though I dislike the horror. I keep guessing who will be the "dead one" and still the actual "dead one" was so far from my imagination. The characters a bit on my unapproved side since Kouichi was quite nagging for a boy my standard. But Mei and other characters were fine, so I kinda forget Kouichi and focused on the other. lol.

This story was released in 3 formats so far: a novel first, then the manga and anime version followed. All the three version have a bit differences, mostly on who died on what month. I watch the anime first, then getting curious with the manga verse and decided to read it, which I like more because one of my favorite characters is survive in manga version, while in anime he's being the fell victim of "the death of August" and getting all psycho killing his other two classmates, NO KAZAMI YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!.

The anime version has more intense thriller--and killing and gore and psychological thingy--on "The Death of August" arc. But all three formats agreed that "The Death of August" had most victims--and most horrible death. But the manga version has more realistic art, though not as gore as the anime, I love the drawing. The manga verse also has this gentler after-mishap arc, with every survivor of "the mishap" being all smiles.

What dissapoint me was the fact that there's no real resolution for "the mishap". That year class 3-3 just finally have it at stop, but only for their year, while the next year there's still possibility for it to happen again. And though Chibiki-sensei said that there must be something behind "the mishap", the resolution just not reach there.

So yeah, since I'm a horror newbie, this story deserve my 4 stars. FOR THE HORROR AND MYSTERY!!

Un manga parecchio inquietante. Ho trovato i primi due capitoli un po' piatti e noiosi ma poi s'è ripreso alla grande con gli altri due, i più belli. Non vedo l'ora di scoprire di più su tutto ciò che riguarda questo mistero e le...misteriose morti. Da oggi avrò la fobia degli ombrelli😂😂

I'm totally going to try watching the anime version of it! The art looks promising and actually better than the manga so I think it'll be pretty good! Not to mention there'll be creepy sound effects so it'll add to the scariness of it all! Okay, it might not be as scary to me anymore since I know how it ended but I think I'll still be at least freaked out a bit! My only problem with Another is that it should have let us know earlier that Aunt Reiko was their sensei from the start. I would have felt for her "death" more. I was busy absorbing the fact that they were one person that I wasn't as affected as I would have if I knew from the beginning. Otherwise it was good. I pretty much guessed the solution early one but I didn't guess who the living dead person was.

Another is a horror manga about this class 3-3 that's plagued with a curse. It started when a popular person from the class named Misaki died. Everyone was horrified since they all liked "her". Then one day someone said that "she" was actually still alive and pretended that "she" was still there. The class picked up on it and went with the flow. Then, to their surprise, "she" appeared on their graduation photo. After that batch, a dead person is brought back to life for one year and added to the class. Of course nobody notices since their memories are altered. At least one person connected to the class, like the teacher, a student in the class, and their direct family, dies every month because of it. The curse lasts until graduation where the living dead person is revealed before starting all over again. As the curse continued, a shaky solution was found. The class was to decide on who was the most likely to be the living dead person and isolate him/her. It worked for a few years although there were years that the curse took place because the person they isolated wasn't the living dead person.

Kouichi Sakakibara is a high school boy from Tokyo who moved to his mother's hometown due to his health problems and his father's tendency to not take care of his son properly (his father is a good chap but is too concerned about his work). He has gotten used to his condition and even befriended this weird and clumsy nurse in the hospital he's checked in. On the day he could finally leave the hospital, he comes across this beautiful girl holding an equally beautiful doll and had an eyepatch. She was wearing his school uniform and her name was Misaki Mei. He is intrigued by her and looks forward to knowing more about her in school. They are in the same class, which is 3-3. But strangely no one seems to see her but him! What could this mean?

Another’da olay örgüsü eski ve ürpertici bir hikayenin etrafında evriliyor. Ana karakter Kouchi Sakakibara’nın, Yomiyama Kuzey Ortaokulu’na geçiş yapmasından 26 sene önce aynı okulda Misaki adında bir öğrenci varmış ve bu öğrenci herkes tarafından çok sevilirmiş. Misaki üçüncü sene Sınıf Üç’e geçtiğinde ani bir şekilde hayatını kaybetmiş. Arkadaşlarının ani ölümünü kabullenemeyen sınıf arkadaşları Misaki hala yaşıyormuş gibi davranmaya başlamışlar. Ancak mezuniyet zamanı geldiğinde sınıf fotoğrafında bir kişi fazla olduklarını fark etmişler, çünkü orada olmaması gereken Misaki de fotoğraftaymış. 1. ve 2. dönemi bitirdiğimde aklımdan geçen ilk düşünce “İyi ki 3. ve 4. dönemi de almışım.” oldu. 1. dönemde güzel bir başlangıç yaparak merakımı daha ilk sayfalardan uyandırmayı başardı. Zaten gizemli olaylar 2. dönemde daha da ürkütücü bir hal alıyor ve ilerledikçe daha çok geriliyorsunuz. Cildin sonlarına doğru neler olup bittiğini öğreniyor olsak da bu öğrendiklerimiz de 3. ve 4. dönem yani serinin ikinci cildi için farklı sorular doğuruyor. Şu an ikinci cildi okumak için inanılmaz sabırsızlanıyorum. Genel olarak manganın çizimlerinin animesinden daha güzel olduğu söyleniyor ama seriyi bitirince animeyi de izleyeceğim. Son olarak zibilyon tane cildi olan mangalar gözünüzü korkutuyorsa orijinal ciltlerinin ikişer ikişer birleştirilmesiyle yalnızca 2 cilt olarak satılan bu manga tam size göre olabilir. İkinci cildi de okuduktan sonra tam kanıya varacağım ancak konusu da ilginizi çektiyse şans verebilirsiniz.

The scenario that it gave was really unique, in the sense that they give you minimum info at the start of every chapter, then just as you are expecting a revelation, it will just leave you hanging and "hungry for more" hahah Still, that atmosphere was not sustained for all of the twenty chapters. Also, even if this is categorized as horror, you should not go into the manga with expectations that you would not be able to sleep all night after reading Another. Caveat emptor: horror fans may not be too amazed with this aspect, unless you get easily freaked out by Saw-type movies, as this show will be a bloodbath.
On a side note, I was one of those lucky people who were not spoiled, so my guesses were wrong.
I just really loved this show, and I would certainly watch and read other related materials, and I recommend you do too.
In my honest opinion, I recommend you watch the anime first before reading the novel or the manga, because as I mentioned before, a lot more facts are kept hidden, which would mean that your assumptions and guesses would have less evidence, making it slightly more thrilling

Stwierdziłam, że pora przeczytać mangę skoro anime za mną i nawet zaliczyłam je do jednego z moich ulubionych. Fabularnie się odnosić tutaj nie będę, bo to dopiero pierwsza część, sam początek historii. Na ten moment podoba mi się i pod względem klimatu i pod względem kreski. Popełniłam jednak błąd sięgając po polskie tłumaczenie, a skoro już mam taką formę to w takiej ją teraz dokończę, ale gdybym uwzględniała to tłumaczenie, to ocena poleciałaby w dół.

Adaptasi manga yang sangat setia sama novelnya.
Karena aku udah baca novelnya dan udah tahu jalan ceritanya, jadi udah ngga frustasi lagi menghadapi berbagai misteri dan rahasia yang disajikan.

Artwork-nya bagus ... Maksudnya sesuai seleraku, hehe.

💔містичні події в старшій школі, що тягнуться вже більше чверті століття;
💔підліткові проблеми, що враз стають дорослими, як тільки у хід подій втручається Смерть як об'єкт;
💔тема відповідальності та дорослішання;
💔шикарні розвороти (там на них явно мала звучати напружена музика).

💗Коли нарешті розумієш, що тут відбувається, історія стає більш глибокою, ніж вона здавалася спочатку. Дуже добре!

Seguramente el retomarlo tantos años después de haber visto el anime ayude un poco. De todas maneras, sigue siendo aburrido y voy a mantenerle el rating original de 2 estrellas.

El anime me pareció un millón de veces mejor. Si no lo hubiese visto antes no habría entendido ni la mitad de lo que sucede acá.

Le doy las dos estrellas únicamente por la muerte del final. No creo que siga el manga. Por ahora queda en "abandonados".

La historia empieza siendo un poco confusa, sin embargo es muy atrapante. Un chico muere en un accidente dejando a todo su curso devastado. Uno de los chicos decide que él "no está muerto" y así comienza el juego. 26 años después en el mismo colegio comienzan a pasarle cosas raras a los que están en la división del chico que murió (tercer año, tercera división). A esto se le suma que el protagonista ve a una misteriosa chica que nadie más ve y que lleva un parche en el ojo. Lo misterios se van develando muuuuuy de a poco y me costó hasta dormir porque daba un poco de miedo.

I saw the anime of this series not that long ago, and felt like reading the manga.

Now I am not so sure if I will continue, the manga was practically the same as the anime and I was bored a few times because I already knew it.

In overall, I love the art style of the manga. And it is good to see Misaki and the other people again.

La historia es muy original, pero al haber visto ya el anime, el manga me decepcionó mucho. Desde el principio empiezas a saber como va a terminar, y mientras que el anime mantenía la tensión, el manga te lo muestra desde el principio. Creo que se debe leer primero el manga y luego ver el anime, porque, en mi opinión, el anime es mil veces mejor. No estoy segura de ponerle un 3 o un 2,5

La storia travolgente, con atmosfere cupe e misteriose. nonostante questo ho trovato i dialoghi un po' infantili, o meglio... Buttati un po' così, non mi sono piaciuti particolarmente e per questo Non sono riuscita ad apprezzarlo al meglio. I disegni favolosi, anche se alcune scene un po' statiche (ma qui diciamo che sono più per miei gusti diversi!). Voglio assolutamente sapere come continua!
