Librarian's note: an alternate cover edition for ASIN B00C45HLFG

Warning: This is the book 3.5 in the Element Preservers series and should be read after book 3 since it contains spoilers for the first three books in the series. The novella has approximately 18000 words (74 pages).

Aware that Ria's condition is getting worse, Adrian is determined to do whatever it takes so he can touch her again without weakening her, and the only ones who might be able to help him are his greatest enemies. Haunted by the memories, he has to get the information he needs without putting his life in danger, but that is easier said than done... Especially if there is no one you can trust.

I'm the author of the Element Preservers series, Human, the Tainted Elements series, the Deadly Destiny series, and the Elemental Earths series. I'm a big fan of paranormal romance, urban fantasy, dystopian and young adult fiction. Writing is my biggest passion, closely followed by reading and listening to music.

What I really liked about this one is getting a glimpse at Adrian's past....that look back into his life, or lack of one. It was hinted at in past books, but you get a little more detail into why he is who he is and did some of the things he has before.

This novella jumps back and forth between current day and several points in Adrian's past. From the death of his parents to his life with Alan, and his visits to the lab. Which makes it more startling that he would go back to seek answers to help Ria. Not that I don't think he would do all he could to help her, but getting involved with Alan again is just bad news.

The one downside is that there were grammatical errors, and it pains me to say it, but they are starting to bother me more now than they did before. However, given this was shorter than the usual books, there are not a lot of them.

I'm definitely looking forward to the next book.
