Thank you so much to L.E.Eldrige for the opportunity to ARC read this book! All thoughts are my own.
I thought Sage's story was interesting, I love a princess that surprises people. Very quick witted and sharp tongued, it was good to watch her let walls down. Her backstory about why she had this necklace was a great concept, and I think her trauma around water was portrayed well.
I LOVED that we got to know quite a bit of the crew as well. Watching Saga and Bramwell connect over research and Sage's skills in mending was so sweet.
Adrian...god I loved him. A captain that truly respected and cared for his crew. I think Eldridge was going for brat tamer with him, but it was more soft dom. The romance was fun, but the spice wasn't much more than you would see in your average bodice ripper romance. Quite a bit of "he took what he wanted" and "he slid in right where I needed him", ya know?
The overall pacing of the story felt a little clunky at times. The book doesn't really find its rhythm until the 50% mark and then everything feels just the slightest bit rushed.

The book introduces us to Sage, a princess who feels she doesn't fit in, with an attitude she uses as a shield that runs much deeper than it appears. And Adrián, a rugged captain who plans to kidnap her to carry out his plan: steal a magical necklace she has worn since childhood.

It's a Monster Romance, since Adrián is a naga. Adrián kidnaps her, and from there Sage begins to discover what truly sparks her passion, because Adrián asks her to earn her daily meals through work, and after failing at every single task (literally all of them, haha), she realizes she has a talent for sewing.

The mystery of the necklace, the lost city of Lestia, and Adrián's past give depth to the story. I also liked how Sage's anxiety was handled—not as a "flaw" but as something she learns to live with. There are many plot twists that leave you wanting to keep reading more and more (I'm not lying, I stayed up until 6 AM).

Thank you so much to L.E. Eldridge for allowing me to read this as an ARC! I loved the first story in the Yulean Sisters Series so I was really excited to read this one and I’m so grateful that I was given the opportunity to ARC read it.

I really loved Adrian’s character, he was such a great captain and truly cared for his crew and the people he was close to. Sage was also just so misunderstood and I loved how Adrian was able to “slither” in and get under her defenses.

The crew was also such a fantastic set of characters. Anne and Bramwell were two of my favorites, especially because they made Sage feel like she was truly part of the crew and helped her feel welcome.

The story did feel a tad rushed near the end and it threw me off a little but overall, this was a really great read!

It took me a while to get into this book I almost dnf it not going to lie. But I kept with it and I'm glad I did because it it ended up being pretty interesting the banter in the pretty much immediate chemistry between Adrian and sage it was entertaining and finding out how and why she got the necklace was a really good story.
