A tweet-length summary of each book of the Bible followed by a key people list, key passage, chapter summaries as tweets, a key insight and Bible timeline showing where the book fits in to the story. Uses the Anglicized ERV Bible translation. "Chris Juby models a focused way of drilling down into the Bible's depths, and he comes up with fresh and probing insights time and again." Dr Richard Briggs, Director of Biblical Studies, Cranmer Hall, Durham
Chris Juby is Director of Worship at King's Church Durham, a songwriter, author and freelance web developer. For three-and-a-half years from 2010 to 2013 he summarised the Bible on Twitter - one tweet per chapter, one chapter per day. The @BibleSummary Twitter account gained 30,000 followers and was featured in the media all over the world. He has now written an introductory overview of the Bible for Authentic Media called '@BibleIntro: A Bible Handbook for the Twitter Generation'.
Chris Juby spent about three years summarising the entire Bible, condensing each chapter into 140 characters on Twitter, which can still be seen under @BibleSummary. This book is a result of that effort with a careful selection from each book and a few other details, giving perhaps one of the best quick overviews it is possible to get. The chapter summaries not only capture a great deal of the content in a tiny amount of space, but often manage to capture the style and poetry of the language as well.
(Disclaimer: Yes, I do know Chris personally. He is an excellent musician and worship leader, and leads the King's Church Durham 'great books reading group', as well as a veteran Bible-summariser.)
