The first 65% of the book nothing happens. Just repetitious crying over an ex-boyfriend, panic attacks, talking about the ex-boyfriend sighing, and buying cat cat bowls for a cat that isn’t supposed to leave the library but spent the week at the MMC’s cabin AND somehow lives with the FMC who is apparently his owner. ????? Last 35% some stuff started to happen but it was just as boring as when nothing was happening. The whole problem is solved by the FMC’s amazing pattern recognition, in this case KNOWING THAT THE SUN SETS IN THE WEST. Thank goodness for her talent.

Why?!

Silas is the least alpha shifter I've ever read (NOT a good thing!), but at least I like his feelings towards Maya. Maya is a charmingly chaotic hot mess and an engaging character. The quirky townsfolk and small-town vibe add a bit of fun. However, the storyline is formulaic to the nth degree, the world-building is inconsistent/contradictory, the repetitious filler turns an already mediocre read into drudgery, and the looming menace and climactic battle are just laughable. I do not recommend this.

Fun story

I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. These books although a series read as stand alones. The characters are interesting as they are not perfect. Fun to read. 4 stars

A librarian and a lycan

I enjoyed Maya so much! I'm not as scattered as she is, but I can completely relate to her. And the fantasy of someone so handsome, strong and genuinely kind being so adoring to a girl who thinks she's broken is captivating.
