Non-Negotiable is all about understanding what you believe, what you can control, what your mission is and ultimately taking your convictions to the level of Non-Negotiable.

Based on the real life story of J. Pat Hickman, a man with a purpose, and the bank he leads, Happy State Bank, you will see firsthand what success looks like.

Sam Silverstein, champion of accountability, presents the inspiring story of how J. Pat Hickman transformed a sleepy small town bank from one location and $10 million in assets into 34 locations and over $2.5 billion in assets by knowing what he believes and not negotiating on what he holds dear. I think there are really good points in this book but the first part is very repetitive. If I could read the first two chapters, pull out all the good examples from part 1, then my focus would start in part 2 where they discuss the non-negotiables. Part 2 to the end were new ideas and concepts and worth the read.

Sam understands how powerful accountability and culture can be in an organization, and offers wonderful examples showing how success becomes a natural outcome when leaders stand for what they believe in and do what they say they will do.

Worthy topic. Good examples from the Bank. The stuff surrounding the examples was painful.
