A few years ago, Rachel strutted around the ring wearing next to nothing. Now she’s back with Beck Burton’s baby… and this time he’s not letting her go. Ex-ring girl Rachel St. Martin used to love the thrill of MMA, but there was only one fighter she ever fell for. With his deep blue eyes and rippling muscles, Beck Benson stole her heart. But when she got pregnant, one taste of his explosive temper was enough to know she couldn’t have him around her child. She already lived through that with her own father. She swore she’d never go back, but with baby Chaz in need of a bone marrow transplant, Beck may be her son’s only chance. Beck has had more than his share of ring bunnies, but gorgeous, red-haired Rachel is the only woman he’s never been able to forget. When they fought two years ago, he had no idea she’d walk out on him for good. He may have lost his cool then, but she should have known he only uses his fists inside the ring. Now she wants nothing more from him than a transfusion, but if Beck can get his anger issues under control, he may get a chance to win back her and his son. It’s a challenge he’d hate to lose.
New to Leslie? Readers suggest starting with 'The Bossy One' (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6BP3BBF) —Imagine a sunny Minnesotan Mary Poppins, employed by a grumpy Irish billionaire. The story is a blend of humor, revenge, passion, heartbreak, hope, and witty banter. As one reader put it, ‘This story had me squealing at the romantic moments and silly moments.’
Leslie North is the USA Today Bestselling pseudonym for a critically-acclaimed author of romantic comedies and contemporary romance. The anonymity allows her to fully express her creativity, especially in the romantic and fun sexy scenes!
In fact, she confesses to loving her fictional persona, Leslie North, more than her everyday self! Her bestselling books are known for their strong characters, particularly women who aren’t afraid to challenge an alpha bosshole. And the humor? So infectious, you’ll be laughing out loud in public!
Leslie’s love for romance began when she picked up a worn-out romance book from her local library. She started writing soon after, and as they say, the rest was history. She now resides in a cozy cottage on the British coast, enjoying long walks with her two Dalmatians, George and Fergie.
She LOVES reader feedback, and if you have any comments, don’t hesitate to contact her!
I'm not a fan of the secret baby trope, but sometimes it can be done well and I liked he idea of this book but just couldn't get into it.
One of the things that bugs me about authors is when they write kids badly. The way I figure it, Chaz is at most -2. He's a toddler. Yet, she's perfectly ok with her sick toddler getting himself up in the morning, going to the kitchen and getting his own milk? Right. Chaz is written like he's a much older child and this irritates me.
Rachel also annoys me. I get she has a traumatic past but it's tiring that she keeps treating Beck like he's going to beat her. Yes, he has a temper and apparently he once punched a wall but she's acting like he's some sort of abusive asshole - even though he's not the only one who yells when he gets upset. What, it's ok for her to shout at him but he's got to keep his temper at all times?
She even threatens to call the sheriff at one point if he 'lays a hand on her' when there's no indication that he's going to do so. I just wanted her to get a grip!
Rachel is willing to do anything for her child, even if that means facing the one man that she left behind. Beck never understood why Rachel disappeared. He thought they had something special. When she reappears unexpectedly with a son that looks just like him, he does not know what to make of it. Rachel and Beck have to make peace with the heartache of the past if they want to have a future together. I did not know what to expect from this story going into it. Estranged lovers and a secret child facing health issues all mixed in with a hint of MMA. Yet it worked. Leslie North did a beautiful job of pulling at the heartstrings and reuniting two people to stubborn to admit that they need the balance that each receives from the other. The Fighter's Secret Child is a heartwarming reunion story that leads to the creation of a loving family. Received an ARC of this story for an honest review.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. Wow! Well…the third Burton brother is as hot as the first two, and even though he can be a bit “hot under the collar”, he has a heart of gold. Rachel and Beck are finally back together after over two years, with a common fight to fight. What seems like mountains that they will have to climb, end up as molehills, as they rekindle the love they once had. This story has a different twist on it compared to the first two, but, as in the others, well worth the read. The characters ooze compassion, spunk and love. The “situation” is heart warming and trying all rolled up together. Once again, the author captures your attention, and keeps it at it’s peek as the story progresses. Worth the read. Just a note, each of the three books in this series are stand alone books, but you definitely get additional background if you read them in sequence. Well done
I received this free for my honest review. This story pulls at your heart strings for the love of a mum Rachel whose son is sick, she has to face his father Beck Burton who doesn't even know about him. Rachel left after a yelling match knowing she could never bring a child up the same way she had been and thought it best to disappear, Beck spent months searching for her to apologise and wanted to tell her she was the one for him, now she needs his help because him and his family are the only hope her little boy has of being well. In this story you catch up with previous characters and the family bond is lovely, you have all the hotness and romance, this is a great read and the series gives you knowledge of everyone in it.
I have liked this series and this book was just ok. One of the secondary characters (Avery's brother Dustin in book 2) was Alice's brother in the beginning of book three and by the end of book three back to being Avery's brother. I was not a fan of Rachel's character either. She can not stand to be around violence or yelling, yet she was a ring girl? Nope can't buy it. The way she was in the story make you wonder how she ever could have been around Beck to begin with if she was that scared of him.
Looking for a book that is good, fast, delicious, sexy with a good mix of tension and romance thrown in? Then The Fighter's Secret Child is a definite must-read. Each book in this series grabs you from the cover and has you turning the pages to see how the story develops. Leslie North wrote an unforgettable second chance romance that tells a story of how true love can survive obstacles and make you stronger. Once you start reading, you won't want to put it down.
Rachel was scared to death to have to tell Beck he was a father. She had kept this news from him for a long time but now she needed him, their child needed. Chaz was a sick little boy and needed a donor. Beck gets a family he didn’t know he wanted!
I loved this 3rd in the series about the Burton brothers and their fierce love and commitment to each other and the women they love!
When I read this book, I didn't realize it was part of a series. That didn't really make a difference in the reading of this book, and I thought it was a cute, short read. Not my favorite book, but it was a bearable read.
I love reading the books of Leslie North. All her books are SUPER HOT, SEXY, and EASY READ!!!! I recommend all series especially this one, with all the human factor in them.
And the next serie The Greek Billionaires are awesome and a must read.
was given this book by author have totally enjoyed this book, was emotional and real life which was great, have love all books by leslie north, well done,:)
A lot of the plot is brought back to what happens in the prologue even though both characters are old enough to have analyzed what happened. still they fight a lot thru the story.
