Mia and Jaxon's hookup was not as much of a secret as they thought; while they're both worried, there's no longer any reason to keep their feelings a secret with everyone on campus not only in the know--but also approving of it. They spend their first week together as an official, open couple practicing together, making up for lost time, and enjoying the fact that they no longer have to hide or pretend.
They both cheer each other on at their second meet, and Mia can't remember a time when she has been happier in her entire life; when they both finish first in their respective divisions, Mia and Jaxon find somewhere to celebrate privately--only to be discovered by their parents, who came to surprise them, not knowing that they would get a surprise of their own.
As Jaxon's father berates her in the middle of a restaurant, Mia decides she has had enough of his cruelty and stands up for herself and for Jaxon, telling her step-father that he's not only not good enough for her step-brother, but not good enough for her mother either. Convinced she has destroyed not only her chances at being with Jaxon, but also every vestige of a relationship with her mom, Mia flees. Is the end?
Okay this will be my full review on all parts of this serial.
Jaxx is a senior and is a star athlete. He is wanted by all the girls, but he is the type to tap it and leave type. Mia an underclassmen is not a girly girl. She is like one of they guys. She doesn't even have a girl friend. She spends most of her time in the frat house. Were there she is considered one of them without actually being a brother. Jaxx starts to notice her and she picks up on that. He starts to flirt with her more then usual. He starts meeting her up walking her to her classes. They have a lot in common. The night comes when they actually sleep together. Then the day everything goes to shit. I felt every feeling she felt. I would be yelling at him too. They avoid each other like the plague. Thanksgiving break comes along and she find out why he did what he did. He wants to talk it out but she can't. She doesn't trust her self to be alone with him, because she still want him. Bob is one piece of work and a total asshole. I felt for Jax. Mia's mom on the other hand was great. Things happen and its a roller coaster till the very end. I just want to say to Mia Yes! Bob deserved a piece of her mind he is a douche. Honestly I don't know how Mia's mom puts up with him. I get love really is blinding. Anyways this was a quick read for me I read all parts this morning. Bravo to the author I couldn't put it downfall a second.
ARC was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
The conclusion to the story of Mia and Jaxon. Both think their relationship is secret and they were so subtle no one from their friends had a clue. But hahahaha! how wrong they were. They even had a bet going xD I LOL at that. Things get serious for the couple as an official couple and for their family. Jaxon's father is the one who takes the news the hardest and it causes him to verbally attack Mia, and in public leading to a very satisfying end of the series and a HEA for Mixon <3333333
I enjoyed the last scene so much and Mia and Jaxon standing up for themselves against Bob was so satisfying. Her mom is still passive character but I don't care anymore. The dad accepted their relationship pretty easily, but I am really glad Mix is endgame.
An easy to read stepbrother romance 5 book series so here's your cliff hanger warning - this is the last book in the series so this is where the HEA will happen!!
Not too brain taxing, takes approx an hour to read each book. However, an issue I found with each book was a tendency for a lot of Mia's thoughts repeated over and over causing me to skim read a lot. Never a good sign when I do this, but it didn't seem to affect the storyline.
Only the 2 main Charachters were really explored, and not to a great depth beyond the relationship or frat house experience but lije I say - it IS a light easy read so nothing heavy is going to be put in here!
As for a stepbrother romance....not with a 5 book - maybe could be condensed into a 2 book - maybe even 1 if pushed to shove. The sex scenes do sizzle but are only a couple max per book till you get to the last one.
But great for a beach read, to fill in time or when you fancy a bubblegum read!!
Mia is happy. She and Jaxon can be together without judgement from their friends and everyone is happy for them. Things finally go back to normal and she gets a best friend and boyfriend all in one. She can't believe how well everything is working out; But when you do something you know you shouldn't karma comes back to bite you in the ass and Mia might have said something she will never be able to take back.
Jaxon knew he and Mia were meant to be and he is relieved when she finally lets him in. He has fought hard for her and he is more than happy to claim his prize. Everything is perfect not just in their relationship but also in their extracurricular activities. He is ecstatic that he was able to help Mia excel in the events she would need to get first place in the next competition. But a day that is suppose to be one of the best days quickly turns into a disaster.
This was the perfect conclusion to this series. Jaxon and Mia were able to stand together as a couple and although it was not smooth they were able to move past all the major issues they were having. It was a really nice ending that I think readers will be satisfied with.
I do have one complaint though. Throughout the series it doesn't really seem like they use condoms during their steamy scenes and I think that is unrealistic for college kids.
In this installment we finally get more of a story, I'm so happy that mia grew a back bone and gave as$hat what he deserved and I'm happy about what happened because of her doing that... however I'm very upset still with jackson for taking off and leaving her, he didn't know what would happen, he just poof walked out.. this is the second time she's had to find a ride because of him and his walking pout spells.. grrr that just makes me so mad.. lol but yes if your into this series between book 1 and this.one, yeah these two are the best I think :) happy reading.. just sad to see it over so.soon :( sighhhhh
With Mia and Jaxon giving into to their feelings for each other and seeing how it will be to not hold their feeling in. Thinking they can keep it a secret but what they didn't know is that the frat and snowboard team knew something was going on. With the freedom to be with each other out in the open and getting closer to each other and practicing snowboarding. Little did they know that they would get an unexpected guest spot them together. Loved how the story came together and love reading about Jaxon and Mia
What a day its been. I have read all five books and I have loved each and every one if them. So glad that Mia was able to stand up to Bob (finally). Yes it was shitty of Jaxon to walk away again and leave her with the 'firing squad' but I could understand and excuse him yet again. It must be extremely hard to see yourself as a failure despite all that you do to show otherwise. So happy that him and Mia got the acceptance in the end that they so needed. A sure read.
Wow, last book, hated to see this series come to an end, wishing it were taken further, Mia and Jaxon, struggled so long to finally make their relationship work, it was so great for them to finally realize their love for each other. Then at a snowboarding event for school, after a competition, parents show up, catch them in an embrace, Jaxon's dad says horrible things, Jax takes off. Have to read to see, awesome series.
I have to say that it took Mia long enough to finally stand up for herself and for Jaxon! I'm kind of disappointed in her mom though, there's no way in Hell I'd stay as cool as a cucumber with someone spewing crap on my child, but to each their own. Even in the end, a-hole Bob got in touch with Jaxon yet Mia's mom didn't but what can you ask from a weak woman. Jaxon and Mia get their HEA and that's all that counts!!!
Mia and Jaxon have tried avoidance but it just made their situation harder to deal with. Will they find happiness together? Will the frat boys understand? When will they deal with their parents? Will they be accepting? Claire Adams did a great job with Stepbrother Whoa. I'm sad to see their story end.
Some how I feel it isn't quite done for these two...the story still needs an ending.....why hadn't her mom stuck up for her? Did Bob talk to her mom that way???? Hmmmm keep reading and find out. Claire Adams....girl I'm liking it. A few timeline issues but great story and writing!! Love it
The is the conclusion to the Stepbrother series. Mia and Jaxon are letting everyone on campus know that they are a couple. While in the bliss state their parents find out and Jaxon's father is taking it the hardest. Can these two finally be together and happy? Great read
