I open up Bone Rot and the first thing I think is: Stylish

You wake up from an anesthetic-induced stupor with our point-of-view character into an old-west creature feature prickling with action and horror, devilry and science fiction, and the plot takes off like a string of firecrackers. If you're a horror and action aficionado, this is the book for you.

Dev Solovey writes a believable, incredibly entertaining protagonist who is equal measures sympathetic and comedic, building a realistic character who is fun to follow- dirt, spit, and radiation and all. Alongside antagonists who are equally blood splattered and horrifying in different directions, Bone Rot manages to be lean, mean, and leave you excited for more.

I cannot leave a review without mentioning that the book is loaded with incredible illustrations by Ryan Miller. Scenes punctuated by stark, visceral, and not to mention well-formatted blends of imagery and prose brings to mind some of the best illustrated horrors from my youth, in an altogether well made package.

If you want a gruesome good time, I cannot recommend Bone Rot enough.

A creature that I haven’t seen featured in horror before made this short story unique. I liked it overall. However, I found myself wanting it to be longer so I could savor it more. Otherwise, a good choice for a quick read.

I want to start by saying I loved the art and the layout. This book is gorgeous.
The story is short and gripping, with interesting characters and a unique creature. I really love the ending
