This is Part 1 of "Love All Out" - a five part Hot New Adult Stepbrother Romance Series by Alice Ward.
I’d wanted James Parker for as long as I could remember. I’d admired him since forever, but I wasn’t the only one. He made his way through the beds of every woman in our small town… every woman but me, that is.
Years passed without sight of James until the night my dad took me to watch him ride in a rodeo. As I watched him conquer a bucking bull, all I could think about was having him ride me the same way.
Daddy offered James a job on our family’s ranch, which gave me the perfect opportunity to realize my deepest desires. But James was as cocky as he was hot, and I soon realized that taming him could prove to be impossible.
This book is intended for a mature audience, 18+ only.
Alice Ward is the bestselling author of dozens of hot and steamy contemporary romances. She’s an amazingly prolific writer, releasing a new book almost every single month. Her books are widely read, especially by women and any other lovers of the romance genre. My Stepbrother, My Lover, was her first smash hit.
This is part 1 of a serial. Willow lives at home and runs the horse breeding program on her father's ranch. Despite the fact her mother passed away years ago, she's actively hostile to the idea of anyone dating her "daddy." Her way of life is threatened when her father hires a local woman to begin working on the ranch and they start a relationship. Meanwhile, Willow is very interested in the woman's son, James. James is a rodeo rider and serial dater. When he and Willow hook up, she assumes it's the beginning of something it isn't and becomes angry when he lets her know he isn't interested in a relationship. It's a banal story with cookie cutter characters. Editing is very rough (for example, using "too" instead of "to").
I read this book as a part of a reading contest. This genre is new to me. The book started out slowly, where you get to know the persons in the book and I loved that, as I could connect with them. But in the middle of the book where James and Willow are out on the trail, the story was progressing too fast. I kind of missed some interaction between James and Willow.
Throughout the book I kept thinking that I was definitely not going to read more from this series, but reaching the end of part 1, I am kind of curious about what will happen with both James and Willow and Renee and Willows dad.
Hope it gets better not worse. Willow 20 or 21 and her passion is thoroughbreds breeding, training and something her mother started before Willows parents became a couple. Each foal that is born and raised makes her feel closer to her mother. She never knew her but she knows her. Her father almost singlely raised her from a newborn, taught her everything, spoiled to an extent but he did that and ran a business. Her BFF Matt is her friend, helper, partner, and her voice of reason. They work and play together but would never been closer since Matt is the only gay cowboy in their town. Bradley is her father's best friends son and bother her father and his are trying to play matchmaker. Brad is way to nice and old fashioned but it's is cover, is actually not nice and looks down of 'poor' people and Matt. James is a bull riding manwh0re, every town he has women and his sights are set on Willow and she gives in the same day. But James don't want love or commitment and so after he has Willow for a while she catches him at a rodeo lip locking some women. Then comes back and tells her they can be friends with benefits but he wants her to be her friend more then a lay. Willow is beyond hurt and top it off Daddy just announced he popped the question to James's mom Renee. At least Renee is sweet and loving but Willow still sees her trying to take her mom's spot.
Willow always worked on a ranch with her daddy with her bff Matt but when her daddy hires a lady named Rene and her son is a old classmate that she used to crush on what happens!
So willow lives on a ranch with her father. Her mother passed away a long time ago. A family friend Renee gets hired into the ranch. She has a son that is willows age. His name is James and he is a player. James father died as well by a drunk driver. James also works on the ranch but also doe bull riding. Willow and James end up sleeping together but James doesn't want relationship. And willow does. Willow was pissed to find James hooking up with another girl. She doesn't want anything to do with him but he still wants to be friends. At the end of the book Willows father and James mother announces their engagement. Willow is furious and James wants to break it up. Hmmm I wonder if they succeed or what?!

I received this free for my honest review. this book is definitely a great start to the series, Willow has been brought by her rancher dad after her mum died when she was a baby so you could say she has had a sheltered life. Well that's all about to be shook up by her school girl crush James and the realization that her dad has feelings for James's mum. This book will keep your attention between everything going on with the two couples and the humour of her best friend Matt who is gay and there is lots to get your imagination going. You really won't be disappointed in this story but the cliff hanger will leave you desperate to find out what happens in the next one
This book starts out a little bit slow, but it was necessary to understand the main characters. Willow is a hardworking woman running a horse breeding program on her dad's farm with her gay best friend Matt. Their high school crush James has come back to town and they are both interested to see if he's still the same player he's always been. Things start to get interesting when James' mom starts working with Willow and now both her and Matt will be seeing James more often. Will he just be cowboy eye candy or will he actually be interested in something more?
Good quick read. Willow knew James from High school but she hasn't seen him in years, that is until her father takes her to a rodeo where he is and they watch him do his thing with his mother at her dad's side. This is the first part of the series and it gives you a solid back story of both James & Willow as well as their parents. I look forward to reading the rest of the series and seeing what happens to both couples.
I enjoyed reading this book a lot. I didn't like the beginning, but I liked that at the ending it was obvious that he wanted her. And he made it clear for her. That's why I liked it so much. I would won't give this book too much stars because I'm sure that the next books will be even better, so I will hope for more stars to give!
So this book gets 3.5 stars. I can't wait for the next 4 book in these serie.
Okay should have seen that happen. Never fails just when thing start looking good for a young couple who's starting to really like each other and both of their parents are single kind of fall for each other the kids are the ones that get the raw deal. Great work Alice can't wait to read more.
I was expecting more out of this book based off the description and the reviews, but it fell completely short. I don't know what it is about the word, but the way the protagonist calls her dad "daddy" all the time just creeps me out. She talks about her daddy way too much and everything just feels uncomfortable. As for the romance in the book, it's pathetic.
I was so bored reading this story that I kept falling asleep and this is during the daytime. I really don't know what to write about because the whole story is forgettable and this is only part one. What? I guess you figured out that I will not be reading part 2
The story really lacks any kind of romance. There was no real sexual tension. Their first time was meh. I don't believe it, on either side. I had high hopes in the beginning, but I'm greatly disappointed.
It's a great story. It's not the type I'm used to reading (I mainly read rock band romance). At first I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but was pleasantly surprised.
Ugh, the writing is so basic and stagnant. There's potential in the storyline but I can't get over how basic the grammar, story development, and sentence structure is.
