4.5 rounded up. Ellis Kane is now my favorite P.I., and David Antocci is one of my favorite authors. I appreciate that he has a competent proofreader.

I thought there was a bit too much zaniness in the beginning. As the book developed, the craziness faded out. The book became a pretty serious murder mystery. There were many suspects with strong motives. And Ellis' friend Dani was the prime suspect in the eyes of the police.

The ending had twists and surprises and was very enjoyable. The epilogue was a nice final touch.

Scone Cold is another entertaining installment in the Ellis Kane series, combining mystery, humor, and a colorful Florida setting.
The theater backdrop adds plenty of drama, and the cast of suspects kept me guessing throughout. While I found the pacing a little uneven in places, the witty dialogue and engaging characters more than made up for it.
A fun cozy mystery with several surprising twists and a satisfying ending.
Highly recommended. Many thanks for this digital copy, all opinions are mine.

Bravo, David Antocci! He has written another entertaining Turtle Key adventure featuring PI Ellis Kane. Perfect combination of humor, just enough drama for balance, and wonderful characters. Ellis’ friend Dani is a prime suspect and he learns things about her past. Loved the epilogue. Highly recommend this series. Looking forward to the next book.
