It is not easy
Some people are going to love this book, some people won't understand. There can be a few reasons for this, but mainly people may lack the context to understand, they may not be used to self-reflection, or they may willfully misunderstand. I hope this book will challenge people. Jay is a quality person. Having met him in person several times and followed his teaching in a dog training context for years, his ethics, compassion and perceptiveness are obvious. Philosophy was one of my first great interests, along with math, which is closely related. Jay's philosophy is not exactly the same as mine, and that's OK. There are important principles that remain the same even when visualized and described differently. There is a whole lot of truth in this book. Truth is not always comfortable. I'm glad Jay put himself out there and wrote this. He has spent years helping people and dogs, this book has the capacity to help carry that forward. This is going to take another read. And there is so much more... I wonder if he'd consider writing another one.
