What a phenomenal collection of stories of such amazing people. All the stories are truly inspirational and the author deserves to be lauded for penning them down . Though all those creating these stories are heroes, Muruganantham stands out in overcoming social, economic and technical challenges before his production of cheaply priced sanitary napkins got going. And, what gets finally quoted is the true essence : "The difference between stumbling block and a stepping stone is how high you raise your foot"

Almost every innovator that the author featured in this book has a sound educational background. (IIT,NIT, etc)
People studying at such prestigious universities, institutes have great research facilities and provide enough funding too.
I mean, anyone could be an innovator if he/she has accessible resources.

Hmm.. I was expecting to find innovators who made big things with little or less resources available at their disposal.
You know, Jugaad stuff!

Anyway, It wasn't a bad read. :)

This book is a collection of the journey of innovators who have given this world something new and of real significance. One thing which I found common in almost all the stories was that all the protagonist laid down the importance on the learning of Intellectual Property law which plays a really important part in the life of Innovator.
This book is a must-read for anyone who believes that there lies an innovator within her.

It's a nice book if you really want to know who are the real innovators. There are many Indian innovators in the book about whom most of the people don't know, probably, because they are far away from the limelight. The writing style is simple and can be easily read by even a school goer, which I think is really a good thing for the purpose of the book.
Well, I wish there were newer editions of this book and I could get to know what these innovators are up to after 3 years of writing this book.

Read from Libby.

A compilation of short stories of individuals who have achieved some success.

Biggest lessons learned are to:
- not give up
- file a patent when an idea is conceptualized

One idea that crosses my mind at the chapter of Environmental Friendly Paper
- Give research projects or opportunities to undergrad students who volunteer themselves. They have time of 3 or 4 years to complete it, and continued by other students. And let them join competition for those projects

It's Unconventional innovators and innovations.. Not the flipkarts and olas or any big names. But niche products. That was the +ve.. While the stories were inspiring, the delivery or story telling could have been better.

It was interesting to know the stories behind some of the seems-so-simple innovations in India. Perusing through the different stories, I realised how govt policies can uplift the potential that resides in Indian innovators.

the book was amazing on the aspect that it described the finer details of the innovations than simply telling about them.it tells how anirudh made haptic shoe with just the things in the room, hemanth tells how a simpler lifestyle can help you in achieving your dreams, how mrinmayee struggled in getting the patents in different countries, how doctor shyam concentrates on bottom of the pyramid of society ,nelvin tells if you can succeed in getting off the pressure of people around you it can also help in achieving the dreams, how nitin succeded in getting the financial grants through the concerned bodies, not compromising on ipr protection, proper market research to value business from prateek, doing an online course on intellectual propery protection from priyanka, celebrating short successes from sachidanand, taking feedback seriously criticism constructively from sriram, trying to get exposure in as much fields as possible from abhijeet,if it is aimed at public sector you have to be extremely patient from ahmed, reaching out to what you pursue and failing repeatedly teaches what 100 mba degrees couldnt teach from chinmay, how important is social impact of the work by arunachalam, when raising funds consider yourself storyteller from innoz, never compromising on product quality and performance from ideaforge.overall a good book for budding entrepreneurs

This was a surprise read for me. Never expected such inspiring stories of 20 innovators in India and how they are raising the bar. It felt so good to read this book yet somehow you feel doing almost nothing compared to these innovators. Each one overcame huge challenges and achieved incredible feats doing true innovation with dedication and ignoring naysayers. This book will remain close to my heart for time to come, as it will provide me with much required Adeline and Motivation from time to time. A must read for all those sceptics on Indian innovation capabilities and also for those searching for true motivation in doing actions!
